Wonderful points being made. Our languages is what can unite us, but also make us wonderfully unique. Though I do not speak the language (yet), I truly believe that it should be politely celebrated as an encouragement for others to join in and learn.

Welsh is not that difficult! it's much easier than Russian or Ukrainian or other Slavic languages. I'm a Welsh learner in Caerdydd. I skipped the entry level course by doing it on Duolingo everyday. I'm taking the foundation level course (A2) now. Don't lose confidence!

A lot of people use it. Although Cardiff's dominant language is English, it does have more than 50,000 Welsh speakers. (Cardiff University's number is 100,000 but I doubt it) And many kids go to Welsh-medium schools here. I'm just a learner, but I love Welsh.
