Glad I fast forward to the end 😄 most of the time charity shops are a bust but every now and then you get mega wins so always worth to be on the lookout
First time commenter but love your videos. Inspired me to give this a try up here in Glasgow. Found some of my old games and the cex store credit really adds up!🤘
hi mitch,my daughter worked in a charity shop after finishing in school, before she got a full time job, and she said in her shop they had an ebay account to sell all the good games, consoles, blurays, and electrical equipment on, I did get a few good games consoles and games for my collection while she worked there for 6months👌.she also said if you ask at the till if they have anything in the back sometimes they will bring stuff out for you👍👍👍👍 love your channel 👍
Yup I’ve seen a few of the eBay shops. I can’t blame them tbh but it still doesn’t sit right with me 🤣 i’ll bear that in mind for next time I’m out in the charity shops! Glad you’re enjoying the channel 👍🏻🕹
👍,after seeing you buy dead to rights for ps2, a game i had never seen before from namco,i went and bought from cex online dead to rights 1 and 2 for ps2 and dead to rights retribution on ps3 aswell, cracking games 👌
I watched that the whole way through waiting for that magic moment🤣🤣 it’s dire pal most charity shops have nothing these days, the bigger ones all have their sites on eBay so as soon as anything comes in half decent they just list it on their shop site, thought you may have grabbed the super Mario kart you looked at? Would of looked nice with your others bits, but couldn’t see price, your also right always look at dvds especially boxsets, keep up the good work pal👍
Yup I’ve seen the eBay shops it’s a shame for us but I get they want to make as much money as possible. Haha sorry mate ! Yeah I thought about it. It was £10 and I think it was meant to have a remote control with it so left it? Thanks for watching though 👍🏻🕹
Great vid mate👍. I think charity shops are finished tbh it’s the same by me charging £6.50 for a ps2 game that is £1.00 in Cex I think the smaller charity shops are a little more reasonably priced compared to the larger ones but just look at the larger shops buildings in comparison the rent alone for 12 months shows the sort of money they are Making sad really as they are meant to be for less fortunate people to get goods at heavily reduced prices. Rant over looking forward to the next vid😂👍
Yup I’m glad I done it just for my own sanity 🤣 but you’re right charity shops have gone outside their station in my opinion they need to go back to helping the less fortunate and me getting cheaper games 🤣
Thanks for the mention mate.been saying this for a long time get it in and get it out. No point saying can't take any more donations and stock room full if your not pushing it out the other end. But yeah with gaming now and how popular retro gaming or gaming in general is, people selling more Facebook and trade with places like cex. Think that's why now some of us do well with dvds and box sets because folk have no idea of the value of that stuff. Many just see dvds as a died out format. Your room looking good now. I never find to much now with big chain chazza shops just the independent ones and is pure luck if find anything. The gods looked after me this year been amazing. Dont give up though because you never know unless you go.👍🕹🎮
No worries mate! I can’t understand how they’re happy to have rooms filled with stock rather than just get it out the door! Yup dvds are the saviour at the minute. I’ll keep heading into my local charity shops but only when I’m near by 👍🏻🕹
I was going to add, I enjoyed the video, it is refreshing to see someone else get jack *, makes me feel like I am not going mad myself walking around and getting nothing! 🤣🤣
You hit the nail on the head there with that charity shop and it's prices but others are starting to do the same now. From time to time you do catch them slipping and I've bagged a few bargains in the past but it is very hit and miss now which is a shame
I donated some shovelware to local one and the 60+ year old lady pulled out google lens and started scanning them! No wonder nothing good hits the selves. It's really luck of the draw on your area and how many other people are checking the stores regularly. I do occasionally have luck so I just stick to 2-3 near me.
Been there on the old charity shops but now it’s draining as there is little there, tbh I avoid the bigger town Basildon, Southend, Chelmsford as they are ram sacked already. I’d say focus on the smaller towns, Hadleigh, Canvey, Leigh, Benfleet, Witham, etc, always to better in quieter towns. Leigh is good quality and Canvey good being an island resellers are less prepared to travel out.
I agree charity shops are only getting worse now a days but still can’t resist popping in one when I see one! Also for the ps1 they have a see-through green memory card you should keep an eye out for would look good in the collection!
Yup definitely worth popping into your local. Just don’t drive to 4 different towns across a county to “pop in” 😅 yeah mate I’m after them all eventually! 👍🏻🕹
I know what you mean about charity shops now bud, I've sort of given up on them, I only go in if I'm passing. Some of the prices I see are a joke. I know they want to get the most for the charity but some of it will sit there forever
Yeah that’s my attitude now as well tbh. You’re right I don’t understand how they are happy having things sit there for ever. They should maybe drop the prices every week. Get the stock moving!
Mitch, you are right charity shops during covid realised that they should start selling on ebay. Now, because of it everything has gone up to a stupid price, especially British Heart and Oxfam. My local one that I used to buy stuff all the time, I avoid because they want fiver for a 360 game. They used to be 50p last year! My only tip is to keep an eye on the vinyl section if you go again. I bought a old school 80's rap vinyl for £3 and it's worth £80 on ebay. I swear it is one the last things they haven't picked up on yet. Happy hunting and another good vid.
Yup I’ve seen some of the eBay stores. Can’t blame them really! My brother keeps on at me for checking vinyls saying use discogs etc to check prices but I feel like there’s more fodder in vinyls than the wii 🤣too much time wasted looking through them 🤷🏼♂️
I have 5 very local to me and 3 i can get them for 50p /£1 each then other 2 are like £4/5 each lol but when they get them in they go so fast thats why i go in at least a few times a week to check
Believe me the stuff goes in these charity shops. I know someone who volunteers in a big hub sorting shop.. They list them on ebay now. You just don't see it surface in many shops. Check out barndonos ebay store online, pdsa, British heart..or whoever. They have gamecubes. N64s listed. I've seen megaman x4 and mega man x5 on there before.
Nice, I used to work in Billericay and bought my cheap SNES and N64 consoles from there earlier this year. Some charity shops near me are really good but some are very overpriced, though one of the ones that is usually overpriced today had a really good game in stock so that was purchased. Had a blinder in London last Sunday at the Gaming Market and Forbidden Planet.
well said about the pricing, extortion and general societal greed. Im guessing your about the same age as me, how its changed from when we were kids, cant even get a bargain in charity shops. we are getting old, 🤣
@@retro_rummage_ Couple years older than me then fella, yeah same here man I remember kids getting bullied for it, was cloak and dagger game hunting for a secret society back then 🤣
Charity shops are awful now, I don't even bother going in to them anymore. I went in to a British heart foundation and they had xbox 360 games behind glass for over 8 quid, cex 2 shops down had the same games for a couple of quid...
Knew it wouldn't go well, I've only ever picked up 20 odd games (18 from 1 shop..old ps2/ps3 games.. 1 pound for 10 games, worth about 40 quid total).. blurays what are you looking for? boxsets? I picked up a sealed family guy 1-14 season dvd boxset the other day for £5, worth probably about 50-60.. best ive had for dvd/bluray, waste of time looking 99% of the time
Haha why didn’t you tell me 🤣 I’m glad I done it even if it was just as an experiment. Yeah box sets and blu rays seem to be the last untapped gold mine at the minute. Nice pick up on the family guy box set. I’d sell it quick before it drops in value as they release more seasons 👍🏻🕹
Since watching you, whenever I go into a charity shop, I always ask if they have any more dvds or blu-rays out back. So far a few have let me go through all their back dvd, gaming and blu ray stock as they had hundreds and I've managed to pull out some good trade in and some fairly big hitters for eBay. I get the best luck with the 10 dvds for a £1 or 20p dvds shops as they understand that they're not a storage business and want rid of dvds quickly. Previously I'd generally ignored dvds in favour of games.
Yeah I’ve seen a few mad ones and it does make you think if they’re faked but I like to tell myself they’re not and keep looking in my charity shops 🤣👍🏻🕹
@@retro_rummage_ wow that's some going that mate espically to pick up 4 items was it lol. I see you normally go car boot sales. I live in Newcastle personally never been to a car boot as yet, but defintley planning too 😁 Also totally agree with your British Heart Shops there they biggest rip off merchant's in charity terms, prices are scandalous. Always enjoy watching your videos mate
Glad I fast forward to the end 😄 most of the time charity shops are a bust but every now and then you get mega wins so always worth to be on the lookout
Haha I don’t blame you! Defo worth a look just don’t go out your way to do it 😆
That boxed Time Crisis behind you is a thing of beauty.
Hah thank you! I want the point blank one as well but it’s money!!
First time commenter but love your videos. Inspired me to give this a try up here in Glasgow. Found some of my old games and the cex store credit really adds up!🤘
I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos 😊 yeah it doesn’t take long to get a nice bunch of CEX vouchers together that’s for sure! Keep it up 👍🏻🕹

Independent charity shops are ok but a majority are price matching Ebay. We've missed the boat when Charity shops were decent.
Yeah, about 10 years ago I used to get stuff!
Yeah I think you’re right mate the big high street ones are a no go! Oh to be young again 😆🤣

It's hard in charity shops. Over the last 6 months I've found 4 games I've made a slight profit on. 🤦 Roll on boot sale season 😂😂
