  • Alice recommended I have a look at this one and THANKS Alice:), it's drop dead gorgeous. This video only touches on the home which - despite the mod description - is actually very large and with so much unique detail it's astonishing. I KNOW there are bits I've missed so download it, give the creator a big thumbs up, and check it out for yourself:) The mod creator is doing an update very soon and I will do a Part II and show you the kids rooms that I missed!

I start to love this place, then it just overwhelms me. It's labyrinthian.
The only way to enjoy living in it, in my opinion, is truly to just live in it full-time. The genuine full exploration of this place would still be popping up little discoveries for hours and hours of gameplay.
I paused and started the video a lot because there is just too much to look at to take in through a wide lens.
It IS someone's magnum opus, because they inhabited this place utterly. Generations of personalities, unified by a few 'familial' themes, and perhaps even a great history to be explored. This is where you go when you've exhausted Skyrim, and want an entirely new life in retirement.
    Without kids.

A bit too dainty for my taste, but I can 100% see this as the be-all/end-all of home mods for the right person. My mind was slightly blown seeing my favourite shot of Geralt and Yennefer @ 12:46. Staggering level of detail.

Ways to tell the sex of the modder:
    1. If there is an empty flat surface anywhere
    2. If the pillows-to-bed ratio is a multiple
    3. If there are precipitous falls because a bannister would cramp a niche's picturesque quality...
Do I need to say it..?

  • @OneVoiceMore

I truly love this mod, but from an immersive standpoint, it would always feel like someone else's house, maybe inherited. There are literally generations of lives within the walls, and I would feel like even my best stuff would just clash with everything --- bespoiling it.
That said, it's EASY to imagine this being one's maternal ancestry's family manor. It has a stately graceful artistic feminine appeal, not in the least diminished by a tidy whole-floor painter's studio.
It's the kind of place where boots are left at the door, hats are not worn tableside, and guest, while infrequent, would always be tempted to stay.
Roleplaying in this estate would make one reluctant to leave it, and tempted to max it out with the best of followers and servants--- to see how they interact with it.
As matronly as it feels, however, this is not a place for children. There is just too much careful balance and obsessive storage for children to be allowed uncaged within its walls.
It reminds me of a multi-story Room of Requirement...

  • @RobertVlcek

Stairway to heaven?.... Oh, holy cow, it is!
    My goodness gracious.
    Thanks for showcasing this!!
Okay, "Open Geheimtür" is just hilarious - Geheimtür means "secret door" btw.
The authors name, if it actually is the real name, is female - however, if the author used a nickname, it could also be a variant of a male name... So, it's hard to say. From some of the decorations, I'd say there is a 95% chance the mod author is a woman.
And, it seems to be the home of Julian Alfred Pankratz aka Dandelion or as we call him "Rittersporn" (literally: "knight's spur"), one of the friends of Geralt of Rvia, judging by that vest on the clothing rack - lol.
Oh, gosh, one of the best sources for high-res, highly detailed elements that look like they are high-medieval middle-european is Witcher 3 and it seems many mod authors seem to have played it.
It's amazing how mod author's are able to use all these elements from different games and are able to make it look like it belongs together. Nothing really stands out like a sore thumb.
Just looked up "Snow Hill Manor" and, yeah, you nailed the comparison there. Maybe the interior was inspired by this - or it's just a big coincidence.
The work on this mod must have been... I'm actually out of words at this point. That bath... With frescoes!
And this is still a work in progress!
You know, this homes needs Archimedes, Merlin's owl in that Disney movie.
Actually, did you notice how natural and like a place that could exist this feels like with all these animals outside.
That's something Skyrim is lacking a bit: more natural life, like geese crossing the streets of Whiterun or a pig that oinks in someone's yard in Falkreath.
Medium.... According to the Nexus, its 1.5 GB big? Guess, I can bury my hopes for an Xbox version.... I want to move in!!

    • @FebrithDarkstar
      @FebrithDarkstar  5 років тому

Exactly - I think that's what got me the most - it feels real to me because I've seen houses like this IRL - and geese roaming around in game would be awesome, you're right it is lacking, I hadn't even thought of that before.

I spend tooooo much time trying to find ways not to like some mods. It keeps me young.
Mostly, I imagine problems that would never materialize, but should. There are so many open-air areas with indoor luxuries, I sort of cringe, especially considering how such materials would suffer additional in the ever-present mist from the falls. Everything would be soaked, never mind the weather mods making some areas immersively repellent.
This place would have a body-count in winter. Imagine trying to navigate the bridge/ramps after a winter freeze. They'd be covered in thin, wet ice.
That said, you don't like kids anyway, and this would be a fun way to take them out.

  • @Synicizm
    @Synicizm 5 років тому +2

Incredible! I can't even imagine all the work that went into this! It feels old and lived in by a family who really did put their life's work into building it and collecting things... and I'm so jealous that you got to visit a place like this irl, haha!
It seems like it might be in the same area as Darkwater Lodge, which isn't quite as epic, but still pretty great, imo. That stairway/ waterfall/ chest combo looks too familiar, lol.
Speaking of feeling like Cinderella, I'm sure you've tried the Divine Elegance store. It's the reason none of my mannequins are actually wearing armor. Too many fabulous dresses to put on them!

Hey Feb!!! Love, LOVE your videos!! I know you filmed this several years ago, thought I'd let you know you CAN set the Dining Table. I noticed in your video the candle/flower display in the center of the table (reminded me of Lake Haven's where you click that to set the table) .. Well, click the Centerpiece and you can set the table with a TON of YUMMY eats!!! Also, I noted the Coffee Table in the Entrance (walking straight towards the bedroom from the Main Front Door) .. .If you click on that coffee Table, you can change the deco's on it for "going on an adventure" .... Also, knew you were looking for the Smelter in the Cellar (Off the Kitchen area, Lowest Level).. It's next the the Eagles Head spewing lava, INSIDE the square shaped Forge... Really Cool stuff I've been finding. Thought I'd share this with you!

I love this mod, *EXCEPT* one glaring feature... that root walkway behind the home, why is that there!? It’s not practical, it’s not pretty and it servers no purpose besides getting to the gazebo at the bottom of the waterfall(which by the way there are places you can place the gazebo at further up the waterfalls and have a smaller bridge leading to it) hell you can’t even use the alchemy lab on the walkway soooo what’s the point of that except to bloat my save game and bog down my pc...!?
Now don’t get me wrong I’m not ragging on the mod author or trying to put them down I love this mod as a whole but it’s just that one thing that if I could and knew how to delete that bridge and move the gazebo I would besides that I would change nothing in this mod nothing at *ALL* .

@@FebrithDarkstar Definitely not a problem if you have time. I tend to only use houses as follower/weapon/material storage personally.
I rarely rest there, rarely eat there, rarely work there, just choosing the nearest enchanter, or inn, etc, especially with a good camping mod, so follower storage and quick easy access (I often don't or can't fast travel), is fundamental for me.
I'd love to see this modder or Elianora give a makeover to the houses by the guy who made Silan and Frostvale Manors.
From a practicality perspective he truly gets it, from an artistic one, it's s bit vanilla.
