  • Bought the upgrade kit for the XYL Unicorn. A pretty nice kit to improve the Unicorn. It is available from both TaoBao (China, update the internal kit sold out but you can still get it from BlackRaisins Singapore) and BlackRaisins (Singapore). However the cosmetic kit is only available from the China site I think below are the links:
    Blackraisins -

    TabBao -

    Is it the 300mm barrel? Wondering if the ideal barrel length should be less than 250mm, since OoD and Bradley have found that even the 250mm barrel gives larger standard deviation than the stock barrel

      Ah i glued the barrel (something I don’t like about this blaster) yup I using the 300m barrel

    I am using the same upgrade kit. Do you have the issue of the trigger not having enough force to release the catch? I had to use abit of blue-tac to ensure the plunger tube sits more snugly on the trigger spring so that the trigger has more force to release the catch... Sad news is after i bought, black raisin upgrade kit with unicorn package is now on sale for $100...

      Yes I did encounter the trigger issue a few times when using the stronger spring, however after more usage it seems alright.

    Thanks Tungsten, you have shown me that the upgraded plunger, long springs, and the bufer tube is not worth the money. I am getting better results with just a barrel and spring upgrade. There was so much hype around this blaster, but it is very mediocre in its performance.
    I agree the that the Harrier is better, but it is a different class of blaster, when you compare it to thisteeny tiny offering. If we are going to compare it to another compact blaster, it would be the Seagull, which is already showing that it can easily outperform this Umicorn with the greatest of ease, and go toe to toe with full size blasters for fps when installing the Sabre Blasters Harrier bits.

    Is the officially made by XYL? I was told this was made by another company so Black Raisins could retail it

      If you added a normal 16" barrel it should improve the prime, and it looks like there are designs for a front barrel locking collet.
      I love mine!

      @@arenhansen625 oh, yes, I remember seeing a design for the locking of the barrel, I think it is from Alex.

    Something id recommend to anyone doing barrel swaps is to put some electrical tape on the barrel where the front orange muzzle is. This tightens up the friction and keeps the barrel in place without the use of glue

      You can refer to my comment. It's not the spring getting stuck in the extended orange tube, but the trigger catch not having enough force to release

    • @actasyouknow
      @actasyouknow 10 місяців тому

      @@imoonilose249 because I rotated the orange tube, until there’s a click sound, and I fire, it works every time. So it seems the trigger is working for me. But the spring contracted in the orange tube is not.

    • @imoonilose249
      @imoonilose249 10 місяців тому

      @@actasyouknow well i also did the rotating orange tube method and it only worked 50% of the time. So i tinkered around and narrowed it down to the metal L-plate that kinda primes the trigger catch. Its basically where the metal plunger tube sits and provide pressure for your trigger. This solved it for me. I tried posting a link with photo but guess youtube doesnt allow me to do that

      @@imoonilose249 I see, hope to see your image someday. My blaster is finally showing major improvements as well. Able to shoot 100% without failure. Not sure y but I felt the spring’s tip was lodged somewhere. So I use thread n metal ring to put the tip in place.
