    Scooter rectifier regulator Gy6 150cc
    The regulator/rectifier on your motorcycle performs two functions. The rectifier portion converts the AC power from the alternator into DC power so that it can charge the battery. The regulator ensures that the voltage is delivered within certain limits, as not to damage the battery.
    I hope this video will help you to test your scooter regulator on your scooter or motorcycle , gy6 scooters , taotao, honda , chinese scooter and more

      @@gullahgeechee2699It's possible that a faulty voltage regulator could cause issues with starting your scooter, although it's less common compared to other components like the battery, starter motor, or ignition switch. The voltage regulator's primary function is to maintain a steady voltage supply to the electrical system, preventing damage from overcharging. If it's malfunctioning, it could potentially cause irregularities in the electrical system, including problems with starting.
      However, before suspecting the voltage regulator, it's essential to systematically diagnose the issue. Here are a few steps you can take:
      Check the Battery: A weak or dead battery is a common cause of starting problems. Make sure the battery is fully charged and in good condition. Test it with a multimeter to verify its voltage.
      Inspect Starter Motor and Starter Relay: If the battery is in good condition, check the starter motor and the starter relay. Ensure the connections are clean and tight. Test the starter motor by bypassing the relay and directly applying power to it.
      Examine Wiring and Connections: Faulty wiring or loose connections can disrupt the flow of electricity and prevent the starter button from working correctly. Inspect the wiring harness for any signs of damage or corrosion.
      Test Ignition Switch: The ignition switch plays a crucial role in the starting process. Make sure it's functioning correctly by testing it with a multimeter.
      Consider Voltage Regulator: If everything else checks out and you're still experiencing issues, then it might be worth investigating the voltage regulator. Test its output voltage to ensure it's within the appropriate range.
      If you're unsure about performing these checks yourself, it's advisable to seek assistance from a professional mechanic or technician who can diagnose the problem accurately and recommend the necessary repairs.

      Hello my friend you need to remove all the plastic and look under the cluster gauge and remove the light bulb and see if you need to replace it you could have a burn light or you have problem with the voltage getting there so at that point you need to check with a multimeter . My 50cc system was shut off no lights on gauge no everything yes no power. Could be the battery wiring? I change the fuse and still nothing.

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  4 місяці тому

      It sounds like a power issue in your 50cc system. Since changing the fuse didn't resolve the problem, there could be a few other possibilities:
      Battery: The battery might be dead or disconnected. Check the battery connections to ensure they are secure and clean. If the battery is old, it might need to be replaced.
      Wiring: There could be a break or short in the wiring harness. Inspect the wiring for any damage, loose connections, or corrosion. Repair or replace any damaged wires.
      Ignition Switch: The ignition switch might be faulty. Try wiggling the key in the ignition to see if you can get any response. If not, you might need to replace the ignition switch.
      Starter Solenoid: If the starter solenoid is malfunctioning, it could prevent power from reaching the electrical components. Test the solenoid or consider replacing it if necessary.
      Stator or Charging System: If the stator or charging system is faulty, it might not be supplying power to the battery or electrical components. Test the charging system to ensure it's working properly.
      If none of these solutions work, it might be best to consult a professional mechanic or technician who specializes in small engines to diagnose and fix the issue

    My tail light, my headlights are really dim.I tried everything a new stator new battery nothing helps.Will this fix my problem

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  5 місяців тому +1

      f you've already replaced the stator and the battery in an attempt to fix the dimness issue with your scooter's tail light and headlights, and you've noticed no improvement, it's likely that the problem lies elsewhere. Here are a few other potential causes to consider:
      Faulty wiring: Check for any loose connections, damaged wires, or corroded terminals in the electrical system of your scooter. Faulty wiring can lead to insufficient power reaching the lights, causing them to appear dim.
      Voltage regulator/rectifier: A malfunctioning voltage regulator or rectifier can result in inconsistent power output to the lights, causing them to be dim or flicker.
      Grounding issues: Poor grounding can also cause dim lights. Make sure all grounding connections are secure and free from corrosion.
      Burnt-out bulbs: Although less likely if both the tail light and headlights are dim, it's still worth checking if any bulbs need replacing.
      Alternator issues: If your scooter has an alternator (in addition to or instead of a stator), it could be malfunctioning and not providing enough power to the lights.
      Fuse issues: Check the fuses related to the lighting system to ensure they haven't blown.
      Voltage drop: Measure the voltage at the lights while the scooter is running. If it's significantly lower than the battery's voltage, there may be a voltage drop somewhere in the system.
      Given that you've already replaced the stator and the battery without success, it's crucial to inspect these other potential causes to pinpoint and resolve the issue with your scooter's dim lights. If you're unsure about any of these steps, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic or technician for further diagnosis and repair.

    I have a scooter Baotian 50 Victoria (GY6) limited to 25km/h. I have a problem with the lights. The lights blink and dim when the engine is running. also the engine does not run at full power even when I disconnect the rev limit sensor. I don't understand how the lights stay on even if I disconnect the voltage regulator. I replaced the stator and the battery, but the error was not fixed. Do Chinese scooters have light power via CDI?

    Hey bud let me ask you, I had a bad regulator because it was charging 15.1 volts. I had several new regulators but they were all 5 pin with an extra black wire. I know I shouldn't have but I cut the connector and hard wired everything to the new regulator except for the black wire because there was no black wire. Just a green red white and yellow. Surprisingly the voltage came down to 13 and my light worked which they didn't earlier with the bad regulator. What do I do with the black wire? I noticed my digital odometer and speedometer stopped working when I put the new regulator on. Maybe I should have connected the black wire with one of the other wires? Please help!

    • @VirberelloScooterTips
      @VirberelloScooterTips  Рік тому +1

      Hello my friend if the extra black wire comes from the new regulator It should be connected to a metal part of the scooter frame or other reliable ground source to complete the circuit. Before connecting the wire, make sure to turn off the power to the scooter and disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical hazards. If you have any doubts or uncertainty, consult the scooter's manual . Thank you for watching my video
