Core tackle makes a weighted wacky hook with a screw lock and I have used these on that hook and it holds up so good but you can’t work it through too much cover with it cause the hook is exposed but it works pretty darn good

In Japan those baits win tournaments and my bait shop swears by them. Osp fuzzy dice. It’s more of a drop shot bait try a small drop shot hook and 3/32 weight or depending on your water depth maybe heavier. When the fish bites the dice should slide up your line and last a long time for the one bait
My man, great video. Was that the 1 inch or the 1.2? One thing I'm try to teach myself is to have a little more patience on the hook set. Trying to remind myself once I feel the bite, is to reel down and take up all the slack then wait a split second to feel that he's got in his mouth almost feels like a second small tug, then a quick short snap hook set and keep on reeling. Sometimes I feel on a big whooping set it's so far back that when you bring the rod back in front of you it creates slack line. Hard to do cuz you just want to set as soon and hard as you can.
Bass that have been hooked a lot and see a lot of lures get lure shy and them different baits with different actions get them reaction bites conventional baits can't. I never tried that lure I know Japan make some good baits and top quality lures. Good video now the shad and stripper done doin thy thing in the river it's time to hit the chickahominy a lot harder and hook up on some trophy Bass and Bowfin.

I think you would have a better hookup rate using a wacky worm type of setup. I don't think the Texas rig hook was the best choice. I saw someone use three different set ups: weedless wacky rig hook, as a drop shot, and core tackle wacky shot hook. Looks better too, without that long Texas rig hook shank.

Out of clean water, if you process them similarly, most people can't differentiate between largemouth and grouper or snapper. Of course, if you catch them out of a little mucky roadside ditch, filled with contaminants and then scale and gut it and fry it whole (a 2 pounder and up), it's not going to taste very good. But then, nobody really does that with popular eating fish really, either
