Hi Matthias, I'm actually in Lego Robotics and I had to use that robot program in a competition, it is not a complicated program to use if your following the instructions....unless you in Lego Robotics then it's extremely complicated
Mathias the lego mindstorm ev3 is a computer that you program using code. I bought one and it was worth the money that you pay. It has infinite possibilities. I use it for robotics competitions in the fll tournament. It teaches the love of computers and coding.

Lego mindstorms are essentially the lego take on the vex robotics kit which is usually 3x+ the price. Lego mindstorms are used to create and program a functioning machine.
for number 1, I understand that Matt doesn't understand what the robots are actually used for. Lego robotics tournaments or FRL First Lego Robotics league (Not sure if it's called that). My brother and his team won first place in the first one, and 3rd in the finale. So I should know. I had to deal with 10 boys over at my house programing a stupid robot for 2 years.

My friend came over to my house we were talking and hanging out and all I can here is a sharp beeping and she's just like: Oh give me a sec I gotta take care of my pet. And that keeps happening ALL DAY. To be honest I WOULD have much more fun climbing a tree.
