- The Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway, also known as National Highway 709B (NH 709B), [2][3] is an under-construction, 210 kilometres (130 mi) long, 12/6 lane access-controlled expressway, which will connect Delhi, the national capital of India, with Dehradun, the capital of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It will pass through the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, and will pass through the cities of Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli and Saharanpur. The National Highway 307 (NH-307) is also apart of Delhi Dehradun Expressway.
It will have two spurs, or link roads, to ensure connectivity with cities lying nearby to its route: one 50.7-kilometre-long (31.5 mi), six-lane Saharanpur-Roorkee-Haridwar Expressway, and another 121-kilometre-long (75 mi), six-lane Ambala-Shamli Expressway.[9] It is being built at a cost of around ₹13,000 crore, and will reduce both travel time and distance, from around 5-6 hours to only 2.5 hours, and from around 280 kilometres (170 mi) to 210 kilometres (130 mi). It will be completed by January 2024.[10] It connect to Char Dham Highway in Uttarakhand.

It's the worst area of delhi, highly congested roads + significant population of peaceful religion + slum type house and mindset people. Lol even delhi metro and this expressway will not change anything here except connectivity, those who are living in this area are desperate to get out of this messed up part of delhi typical jamna paar region

Lastly connectivity means a lot for a area to develop.
Ex : before Connectivity Dwara was a dead project of DDA. After its connectivity with airport and janakpuri it became a Good habitable area.

can you update delhi mumbai expressway from delhi to ballabgarh next trip we also enjoy partly at kota
During last meeting in Aug end PM Sh Modiji instructed Transport Ministry & CM Dhami that he wants to inaugurate Delhi Dehradun Express highway in first week of Jan-2025. Initially the tentative date of completion was May-2025. Now Modiji wants that all necessary steps should be taken to complete the work by new deadline date of 31/12/2024. It was published in newspaper (Times of India). I am quite hopeful that the work will take a new pace now and Dhamiji is instructed to give progress report to PM every fortnight. First face of 32 kmts from Akshardham to Bagpat is likely to start anytime in Nov-2024. Let's hope for the best

I saw Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Jakarta, Manilla, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala lumpur, Phnom Penh, Vientiane, Ho Chi Minh city, Yangon. Taipei etc. Their footpaths are wide and low in height with grey marvel or rock or stone or tiles whatever. Their road dividers are lower in height and full of greeneries and tree plantations. Modern design of street lights and traffic lights. Lots of gardens, landscapes and quite flat pavements. No political parties posters. Litter-bins are everywhere. People use subways, footbridges and sky walk for walking purpose. No red paint or stain of beetle leaf beetle nuts juices or any tobacco products. No trash on roads or streets or lanes or gardens. No leaflet or posters sticked on any building. Not much noisy. No unnecessary honking. Low air and sound pollution. Mostly dividers are painted either black and white or a few are red and white not much black and yellow stripes. Which makes those cities look like a beautiful world-class international city. Which is clean and green.
And these things are missing in Indian metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Surat, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chandigarh, Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Patna, Agra, Kanpur, Bhopal, Indore, Bhuveneswar, Nagpur, Guwahati, Greater Noida, Navi Mumbai, Dholera, Gift city, Vizag etc. No matter how much infrastructure Indian government develops Indian metro cities will never look like a world-class international city.
A country does not develop just by building tall skyscrapers. It depends on many things. Thats why India metro cities are far behind South East and East Asian cities and other Western European, North American, and Oceanian cities.
Bhopal's metro has covered a lot in past months since your last update, maybe you should come and check out in mid October.
4 years ago Nitin said express way between Chennai and Bangalore will be availabe in a year... still he is saying the same... Mysuru express way is now downgraded to highway still asking for expressway toll charges... no good projects completed in South India since BJP came to power. all work is stalled halfway...
