Hopefully the switch 1 sonic games will get enhanced for the switch 2. So I can play frontiers, and generations at 60fps portablly. Pls nintendo/sega I’ll give you my money🙏
What sucks is that there isn’t gonna be any Mario & Sonic at the Olympics on Switch 2. At that sucks for me because that is how I discovered both characters 😢
Their fullest potential VISUALLY I like frontiers and shadow gens but they still have a while to go and I think I need one more good open zone game to convince me this is the right direction for the franchise
We’ll finally get Sonic games that are up to par with graphics that are on par with other current gen games, they haven’t done that since Unleashed, Gens and All Stars Transformed After that we got the Nintendo exclusivity deal with Lost World and Boom, then games that were made with the switch in mind
I personally wanted Sonic frontiers to be next gen exclusive rather than compromises by porting it to switch. Despite owning the game on switch (yes I love the game on switch lol) but frontiers has a potential that can truly taken advantage of just as shadow generations did
Wait Sonic unleashed is more graphically intense than Sonic generations? How is that possible? Sonic generations came out 3 years later and there wasn't even a Wii version or PS2 version like there was with unleashed.
sonic team probably managed to simmer down the graphical demands with generations. i remember unleashed would occasionally freeze up when playing on my xbox 360. but generations doesn't do that nor suffer much performance drops on said console. that's how much graphically intense unleashed is.
Yes. If you play both it's pretty clear that Sonic team downgraded the graphics in Gens to get it to run well. Unleashed, for all of it's beauty, ran like crap on 360 and especially PS3. Things like lighting, motion blur, geometry and polygonal detail, and model quality all took a hit in Generations
Ah, ah, ah, that’s not entirely true. Sega spent years focusing mostly on lighting with the Hedgehog Engine 2 instead of addressing more intricate things the engine needed. Scalability is likely a big issue they’re dealing with. They’ll still port to Xbox One/PS4 because of the user base, so we’ll continue to see a lot of multiplatform games. To simplify everything, they should start with next-gen and scale backward to limit the compromises for new hardware.
I don’t really see how this will change sonic too much, like sure, it’s going to be more like current gen games, but at some point, the same problem will probably happen again just with it probably being a generation behind. Sure, at the beginning, it will be fine, but once the ps6 comes out, it might be like it was on the switch.
i feel the same way with the entirety of last gen consoles. i have no idea why sony and Microsoft chose to make last gen stick around for this long, but not only did it cost both of them sales of their new consoles, but it also costed some devs to scale back their games to accommodate for last gen consoles. hopefully they cut off last gen consoles soon and avoid doing this next gen
It wasn't on Sony and Microsoft. It's on the audience still buying games for last gen. It's why the PS2 lasted until 2013 and the Wii up until around 2018 for games. Publishers didn't want to leave behind their large last gen user base
@@crestofhonor2349 it is sort of on sony and microsoft for not giving their playerbases a good reason to upgrade. cross-gen titles are a perfect example of this. of course there were cross gen titles between the ps3-ps4, but there where FAR less of them compared to ps4-ps5
@@sparkz992 The fact that the PS2 even got games up until 2013 shows how the numbers were at least high enough to warrant it still getting games. Of course the last year always showcases the lowest number of players but it's hard to say. It's always about the user base. If they refuse to move on there is nothing they can do other than trying to incentivize them to move on. Another big reason why there is so much cross gen is due to multiplayer games. Many people see no reason the move on when the only games they play are still being updated on PS4 like Fortnite and Call of Duty. These types of games were not present during the 6th gen and were far less prominent during the 7th generation onto the 8th gen. The 8th generation is really where the live service model really took off. Those games are constantly being updated leading to a situation where people don't want to move on as long as the game on the console they own still gets updated with new content. Previously that was restricted to the new games so if you wanted the new features you had to get the next game in the franchise.
@@crestofhonor2349 Ik this is small but just dance for whatever reason where still releasing new games for it even tho everyone at that point had a switch lol, but yeah what you said is also a pretty big factor
5:14 id lowkey prefer a sonic heroes remake over an unleashed remake because i play unleashed on the series x/series s at 60fps and it still looks passable
It has been rumored that they are remaking Heroes, so we just have to wait and see if SEGA announces that that rumor is true, or if they will debunk it.
Bro fr just said how can I relate this to sonic💀 Edit: so I wrote this comment before I watched the video so I thought I was typing something that he didn’t put in there
It would also be good if they try to make the infamous "EggmanLand" final stage be less difficult so that new players won't have such a hard time when they would try to get through that stage in a remaster of Unleashed.
This is one of a myriad of reasons why I despise Nintendo as a company. I initially believed it gets as worse as it can get with them suing the developers of fan-made projects which gained more traction than their original projects, but no, they’re also restricting the true vision the devs have for their game.
Dawg your acting like its directly Nintendo’s fault, they don’t tell sonic team “make a worse game”, sonic team does it by they’re own will, cuz, little known fact, the switch is the best selling console of all time, so they would be missing out on a huge market if they didn’t make it playable on switch, gosh i hate when mfs like you speak out of their asses
I would actually go in the opposite direction and say that last gen may still get one or two more Sonic games. According to said leaked specs, the Switch 2's raw performance is said to be on par to a PS4 or PS4 Pro. The big difference maker is going to be new technologies that carry it over the edge. We've seen this before; the Steam Deck is about the same in this regard. In addition, the number of players still on PS4 or XBONE is still a good amount. According to Sony's data from about 3 months ago, about half of all Playstation consoles still being used were PS4's. HALF. FOUR YEARS AFTER THE PS5 RELEASED. Plus, we don't know how quickly Sega is going to abandon the Switch 1. They could do it instantly, but they also could pull a Wii/PS2 Unleashed and release less intensive Sonic games as cross-gen releases. In conclusion, I don't think Sega is that trigger happy about abandoning last gen.
I dont know if it'll ever happen but my dream would be that every sonic game on switch got a switch 2 upgrade Make em 10 bucks each and I'll happily buy em all
Lets hold our tumbs hoping that switch 1 games will play better just like ps4 games on ps5. Which would mean 60fps sonic forces, x generations, frontiers and team sonic racing. Though honestly I would replay breath of the wild if it gets an upgrade. They could have options just like the ps5 games where you can choose between quality and/or frames.
About the point on Sonic Team leaving behind Switch 1, PS4 and Xbox One...yeah that isn't going to happen. Takashi Iizuka was asked a question on if Sonic Team was going to leave behind last gen soon, and he said no. He wants as many versions of a Sonic game as possible due to reaching a wider audience of players. There are still Xbox One and PS4 players out there who don't feel the need to make the jump to the next gen consoles, so it'd be ill-advised to leave those players behind. Truth is, once the Nintendo Switch is left behind by Nintendo themselves, then you'll see other companies follow accordingly. The leap from PS4 - PS5...just isn't that big. The upgrades aren't being shown in the graphics anymore, it's more so performance and resolution. PS4 and Xbox One versions will still be made in the future as long as there is still a wide gap between last gen and new gen. Not trying to have a go or anything, just wanna bring this point up.
honestly, very validated point. me personally, i don't even want to upgrade to any next gen console unless if there really is something of significant value to do so. like i'm not getting a ps5 or series x just to play only frontiers or shadow gens in better quality. which also means i'm not getting switch 2 for the same reasons.
From what I've heard, they want to continue making games for last gen hardware until they can't or no one uses it anymore or something. Hopefully Switch 2 will be an exception for them lol.
There is no chance they will move over to the Switch 2 entirely by the time Frontiers 2 releases. The Switch 1 install base is way too huge, they cannot afford to ignore it. If they move away from the Switch 1, it will be post 2028.
To be real for a minute, I think both Nintendo and Sega will want to squeeze at least a couple more years of life out of the Switch 1 after the Switch 2 releases, so there's a chance future Sonic games might still be held back, at least for a little while longer.

The power of the hardware has nothing to do with cg cutscenes. It’s the format of storage, there’s a reason ps2 games have cg cutscenes but switch games don’t
They have strayed away from cgi ever since frontiers, the last time we actually got cgi was the sxsg generations teaser trailer which was just an extended few seconds of the original. All the cutscences in game look good enough. We don't need cgi anymore
CG is expensive that's why it's not really there. There's also the reality that video games look significantly better so there's not as much of a need for CG cutscenes since you can make in game cutscenes look so good with the proper light placement. Real time cutscenes from Shadow Gens look significantly better than all the CG cutscenes prior to Shadow the Hedgehog back in 2005

@@IceeBacon no you're good lmao you were very polite and I appreciate that 🫡
@ Thanks. I worry about what I say to people as I don’t wanna be mean to anyone. You aren’t the only one either so badly wanting the Sonic Frontiers builds to be leaked I sure do a lot too.😅
Frontiers should have been delayed to release when the switch 2 comes out, at least that will probably make it a more visually pleasing game
That would have been a 3 year delay
@@saintlugia eh, you got a point, but still
@Immortalbeing14 on the three years it's been since frontiers they've released sonic dreams on iso and shadow generations they've taken what they've learned from frontiers and refined it if an okay game is what we had to put up with to get here it's a good tradeoff
@@saintlugia Yeah good point
What a stupid opinion, but considering the video and this channel not surprising
Hopefully the switch 1 sonic games will get enhanced for the switch 2. So I can play frontiers, and generations at 60fps portablly. Pls nintendo/sega I’ll give you my money🙏
my hope in this franchise is still continuing to grow ❤
It'll be amazing if Sonic Racing Crossworlds will be ported to the switch 2 as a launch title for the console
clean editing
What sucks is that there isn’t gonna be any Mario & Sonic at the Olympics on Switch 2. At that sucks for me because that is how I discovered both characters 😢
What's the name of the music of the outro?
Pretty good video btw
menu from sonic riders zero gravity
Their fullest potential
VISUALLY
I like frontiers and shadow gens but they still have a while to go and I think I need one more good open zone game to convince me this is the right direction for the franchise
exactly why we needed nintendo to finally upgrade to next gen hardware
holy canoly ur almost at 50k
PS4 Pro Power level as a base would be great, maybe Sonic Team will stop using PS2 quality textures.
I will get a switch 2 as soon as sonic games performance improvements confirmed.
We’ll finally get Sonic games that are up to par with graphics that are on par with other current gen games, they haven’t done that since Unleashed, Gens and All Stars Transformed
After that we got the Nintendo exclusivity deal with Lost World and Boom, then games that were made with the switch in mind
I know its bit off-topic, i hope we will get some rush remake or at least port for switch 2
I personally wanted Sonic frontiers to be next gen exclusive rather than compromises by porting it to switch. Despite owning the game on switch (yes I love the game on switch lol) but frontiers has a potential that can truly taken advantage of just as shadow generations did
Hopefully frontiers gets a performance and graphics boost
Oh he actually uploaded a video today
Damn
The Wii and PS2 versions where made by Dimps instead of Sonic Team
4:52
SF: but the one remaster everyone's been wanting to happen is-
Me: Sonic Adventure🤩
SF: Sonic Unleashed
Me: Oh... 😢
I hope sonic games get an FPS boost on switch like what Xbox did with their library of games on the Xbox series store
Heroes and unleashed remastered would be sick
I don’t really see how this will change sonic too much, like sure, it’s going to be more like current gen games, but at some point, the same problem will probably happen again just with it probably being a generation behind. Sure, at the beginning, it will be fine, but once the ps6 comes out, it might be like it was on the switch.
If I'm not wrong Generations was built using the same engine as Unleashed, so I think that the Switch can handle it
i feel the same way with the entirety of last gen consoles. i have no idea why sony and Microsoft chose to make last gen stick around for this long, but not only did it cost both of them sales of their new consoles, but it also costed some devs to scale back their games to accommodate for last gen consoles. hopefully they cut off last gen consoles soon and avoid doing this next gen
I hope that the adventure games and heroes get ports to switch 2
It has been rumored that they are remaking Heroes, so we just have to wait and see if SEGA announces that that rumor is true, or if they will debunk it.
Bro fr just said how can I relate this to sonic💀
Edit: so I wrote this comment before I watched the video so I thought I was typing something that he didn’t put in there
If they make a sinic unleashed remaster i hope they add unique night stage music for each level and more hub world missions
It would also be good if they try to make the infamous "EggmanLand" final stage be less difficult so that new players won't have such a hard time when they would try to get through that stage in a remaster of Unleashed.
thats what the wii and wii u and xbox 360 Will Change Sonic FOREVER
I want a sonic car game where I put my switch in my car and control sonics speed by driving fast
I dont know if it'll ever happen but my dream would be that every sonic game on switch got a switch 2 upgrade
Make em 10 bucks each and I'll happily buy em all
The April Switch 2 direct might answer if Switch games can be upgraded for the Switch 2.
Yeah frontiers deserves it
Maybe Sonic Heores Remaster will run at 60fps XD
4:45 no it isn’t it’s good
I don't have a switch but I'm going to get a switch 2 when it comes out. Could you please do a side-by-side comparison of how things run
Imagine if Switch 2 gets Unleashed but the Switch 1 gets Unleashed Wii/ps2
The Switch 1 version wins then.
I hope the fps gets better for backwards compatibility
Sonic frontiers Switch version on switch 2 like how Xbox did with Sonic unleashed using backwards compatibility on the series X consoles?
@@EricsonGamingNite exactly!
PS4 to PS5 is a bigger leap than you think it is. The main issue rather stems from software rather than hardware itself
I hope we get a new sonic boom game on switch 2
From what I've heard, they want to continue making games for last gen hardware until they can't or no one uses it anymore or something. Hopefully Switch 2 will be an exception for them lol.
What Sonic games can we see on this console
This is the video that I complete ghost this channel
There is no chance they will move over to the Switch 2 entirely by the time Frontiers 2 releases. The Switch 1 install base is way too huge, they cannot afford to ignore it. If they move away from the Switch 1, it will be post 2028.
We all know that switch 2 is bacwards compatible, but i really hope that switch 2 games can be played in switch.
mr stark i don't feel so good
Me: sega do you think u can remaster sonic unleashed
Sega: in your dreams
Me: k can u remaster sonic lost worl- Sega: YESYESYESYESYESYEYS
To be real for a minute, I think both Nintendo and Sega will want to squeeze at least a couple more years of life out of the Switch 1 after the Switch 2 releases, so there's a chance future Sonic games might still be held back, at least for a little while longer.
Me hoping SXSG will get updated for the Switch 2
My wallet is gonna be fried this year😭 with the Switch 2, new Mario Kart, Metroid Prime 4, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Pokemon Legends ZA, and anything else announced this year
is the switch 2 4K
Yes I am cuase I been having a lot of fun with Sonic franchise lately it like my second choice beside pokemon most of time to save for. Really hope they remake unleash I been wanting that too. Very pump to see what Sonic and pokemon got planned it gonna be so fun 😊
With more powerful hardware, I would not be suprised if we see CG cutscenes again, i've suspected this for a while.
Real time cutscenes from Shadow Gens look significantly better than all the CG cutscenes prior to Shadow the Hedgehog back in 2005
I think the switch 2 will do good with sonic games and make them more high quality then switch 1
I wanna see the storybook Games on Switch but for god sake please remove Motion Controls and fix the input Delay
Sonic bday is June 23 ngl Sonic Unleashed teaser trailer remaster drop it there. The switch 2 release time is Late May-Early June perfect announcement!
I know nintendo switch isn't the most powerful console on the market but nobody can tellme some ports of super powerful games to port into switch is a miraculous of tecnisim like doom eternal which on switch it's delicious like other platforms
Eveb shadow generations has one of the bests ports on the console, polish, doesn't have framerate drops and the best of all is super smooth on portatil
If the ports are good some games can run like butter
But always is a problem the limitations so I'm grateful we finally have the secuel of this awesome console
i want a sonic heroes remake ive even gotten an idea for a new team
What’s the idea
@@NickMario1 time travel team its got classic sonic silver and blaze
So switch 2 games won’t be backwards compatible?
