- Roof inspection performed by Denver Roofer. Hail damage was noted by a Project Manager with Integrity Roofing and Painting.
Before we get on most roofs we like to identify the existing product. One of the tools that helps with this function is a shingle gauge from Haag Engineering. This tool is used to determine the thickness of the shingle thus helping us to identify the type of shingle.
Once on the roof we chalk a 10' x 10' square on one slope of the roof and begin to look for hail impacts on the shingles. Bruised shingles will appear as a fresh black color indicating the damage was caused recently. This roof that we inspected has evidence of hail damage which appeared as bruises in the asphalt shingles. The size of the hail was quarter size or larger.

And skylights in background. Blemishes that large would be 2-3" hail and destroy those skylights and roof vents . No spatter on anything especially the blemishes. Then high density dents to flue cap. Sooo many red flags in this and his other videos. Where's the collateral damage to non roof components? I'd be embarrassed to post these be nervous for an investigation. I'd love to have looked at the remainder of the roof system after this video was shot. I watched another guys video on repairabilty where the guy purposely creased the tab and say it's too brittle. Pretty sneaky about it so the average person wouldn't notice.
I didn't know hail was a problem in Colorado.
Can you just replace the hail hit shingles instead of replacing the entire roof?

The guy that inspected my roof went up. On the roof with a hammer I asked him why he took a hammer up and he told me I did not have a need to know

Basically he took a hammer to hit the shingles and act as if hail did that damage.
Nice dent free roof vents and I didn't see damage to skylights. those would be 2"-3" hail to cause that damage to shingles with crushed vents and dented skylights. Did you notice the rows of supposed shingle hits in a couple scenery? I've seen a few of his other videos and have many questions. Quite a bit of editing and limited angles. Where's the spatter???

Use a soap stone, more compact, professional looking, more visible (since it's white) and lasts a lot longer than those child play chalks.
dont want it to stay long. adjusters dont like it when you mark their roof up.
