For some reason I have always been drawn to this house. I own 1872, Town and Country, and Matsukita. I can completely understand your take on the brand. However, I really think you would love Town and Country. It is absolute beast mode and unique, yet mass appealing.
that was a great review, as usual! Noone, and i mean, noone has the knowledge and "realness" like you do. I have been a subscriber since the "boss bottled" reviews, and i could never understand how come you do not have at least 200K subscribers, while men (and women) who are members of the free bottle movement, and have zero understanding of notes, and fragrances get millions of views. that's life i guess. Every review of yours is as real as it gets, and you ALWAYS speak the truth, without any fear. that's why you are one of the very very few who actually buy the bottles with your own money!!! keep up doing what you do and stay true to yourself and your fans. lots of love from Israel!
There is an official interview with Geza Schön were he talks about how fast they (Clive Christian) needed 6 fragrances when they launched. "No matter what, but please not expensive" said the creative director to them (Schön and Patricia Choux). When he was asked about the high price and that is should be justified with premium materials, Schön laughed. That tells you everything you need to know about this brand.
Are you a bot? You post this exact same comment every day on multiple channels. No way you like every video and want to try every fragrance, even if they say its bad.
Probably the first mega expensive brand I ever tried. And they used to have the testers just sitting out unsupervised in Saks too. 😄 Can't remember how many of them I sniffed, but probably all of them. Decent juice, but nothing outside the realm of a low-to-mid tier niche fragrance at the time. Appreciate your takes.
Would you consider the OG CCC to be closer to TF Tuscan Leather? Would you recommend TL over the new formulated C? I've smelled the old C and love it, but need a new "signature scent" I can wear daily to the office... Have TF Patchouli Absout but trying to not wear so much as it's been discontinued for some time. Tried Clive Christian X for Men but not sold on it. I get an animalic scent I can't shake from X...
Cheers Marc, I totally get ya on the Roja and Clive overpricing for what you get , I make only one exception Diaghilev,my favorite niche Frag to date ,and I also enjoy X for men from C.C. Both still overpriced but they get a pass on discount from me lol 😂, have a wonderful weekend my friend much appreciate your thoughts 🙏✌️👍
I actually still need to sniff Dia.. I almost blind bought it at some point during my journey and the samples that cost $25 USD kinda stop me from sampling it. At some point i'll pull the trigger on it, we will see if it's a sample or a full bottle I could not pass up the price lol
@@robes08 I hear ya on that Marc I waited and waited till I said to hell with it and got a 100 ml for 600 euros I still cringe at that price but it’s worth it to me and when you get your nose on it I will bet you will feel it’s an exceptional fragrance 👍
The difference to me between Roja and Clive Christian is that Roja has far better quality and blending to my nose. Neither has a ton of originality and both are overpriced but Roja has a lot of scents in my collection. CC not one. Ive smelled the entire line many times at Saks and Neiman and its just good (but lots of other brands are similar at much cheaper pricing).
@@ryany2882 ive tried every Clive, including Blonde Amber (which is absolutely loaded with designer smelling ambroxan in the base). But thanks for your opinion on my opinion!
@pandafragrance no worries definitely better than roja which is absolutely crap & I've tried alot of them. So what if blonde amber is designer smelling? It smells incredible
Interesting thoughts about the note breakdown by the fragrance houses. Is it because of their views of the consumer, or could it be that they'd rather have the consumer focus more on the overall scent rather than the individual notes. The consumer can then determine what notes they think is present rather than the list provided. It also precludes some people complaining about not smelling this or that in the fragrance. I don't have an answer. Just wondering.
Perhaps your thoughts may be correct. Some brands don't list notes at all like Nasomatto for the consumer to "feel" the scent instead of being into the notes.

I was never interested in Clive Christian either, until I tried Town & Country! For me it reminds me of the small town and countryside from childhood.
interesting and noted to test.

makes all kind of sense tbh, I don't know why they would publicly announce that but I guess they don't give a f.
@@robes08 Schön was asked about that in an interview. The brand would never release such an Statement.
@@Grautonparfums can I have a link please?
The names for their fragrances is like a game of 'Wheel of Fortune'.
ha, yea exactly!
Great video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day

Thank you! You too!
Widian london is my absolute favorite scent ...can u recommend one of these two because of this ?
I own X and 1872 but I got them for half the price. Both excellent fragrances!
half price is a crazy discount lol
Yeah otherwise I wouldn’t have bought them. If you know where to look you can get crazy discounts in the Netherlands sometimes.

Agreed with your take of the brand. Decent juice, but mid tier niche.

I do agree with the differences, at least Roja's brand knows how to construct a well done perfume.
You haven't tried many clive Christians then beciase that's not true
Blonde amber beats any roja

Try and review blonde amber if you can. Great fragrance

Absolutely fantastic frag and much less on discounters
Greey with you 100%

You're slacking!!! I hope we see you back at the top spot tomorrow lol
I'll be honest with Marc, I smelled it at Neiman Marcus. I wasn't impressed with it at price point.
Good take, I can see that tho, I'm not a huge fan of the brand (hence the 1 bottle) but love seeing another take on the brand.
🙂👍
😀
Im a fan of 1872 men.
I still need to sniff that one.
Who are you people paying these ridiculous prices
Review some mind games fragrances they are shite! Paid for reviews on here and fragrantica
Man I have zero interest in that brand, it seems exactly what you wrote, paid off stuff.
