Forgot to include these points in the video lol, but I also hate these things about the lunar events: - Having to repeat it 50% of the time if you want to fight Moon Lord - Replacing all of the other weapons (some guy commented this and reminded me) - Being not very fun to fight - The 'tricks' used to cope with certain attacks from the pillars being pretty niche or requiring a high skill barrier/scouring on the wiki
Yes! I fully agree with the first 3! As a matter of fact, these arguments are more influencial, then ones presented in the video. I wouldn't say that the gimmicks are hard to grasp, if you are learning as you play, and you are not on hardcore as your first run, of course.
@@monin3464 yeah my bad, the video was super rushed because at the time i was focusing on quantity over quality, rather than finding a balance that is clearly present in my dead cells video and my next ones
honestly my main problem with the pillars is the overpowered loot. Once you kill some of the pillars (considering they are pretty simple, just being a harder version of blood moons/solar eclipses), you can get some of the most broken weapons in the game, which makes all your efforts of getting other weapons feel pointless. It's kind of the opposite problem of the zenith, where yes the zenith is overpowered, but it takes so long to get that it's not even worth the efforts. Right after you beat Golem, you can kill the Lunatic Cultists, and from there, getting the overpowered weapons is simply trial and error.
I tnk the pillars are good in the way each makes you think differently. Solar locks you out of flying (the main movement mechanic) and forces u to think outside the box on how to beat it. The vortex pillar makes ypu focus on watching tons of projectiles from different angles (usually projectiles that dont turn) and nebula forces u to tske on unsusual enemies. Stardust is kinda easy thk
I dunno man, If you set up pylons, it is not an issue to traverse the map. Also most pillar enemies have a certain gimmick that if learned, makes those fights much easier (when you aren't airborn the millipiede will not target you).
maybe its just within my circle, but no one i know uses pylons. too much work for too little reward, plus id rather have all of my npcs in one area as for the gimmicks, its still an issue to fight them with the gimmicks. with the crawltipede, i was saying how its unfair if you dont have (what is basically insider) knowledge. you have to look at details on the wiki to know how to deal with an enemy
@@zynxosas much as I hate the happiness mechanic, the pylons are definitely worth the grind as they can be achieved as early as pre-boss and make traveling the world a breeze, especially during the pillars event as it's (to my knowledge) the only event where pylons can be used
@danielteel9792 as someone who typically does runs that are about 50 hours long, putting in a ton of work to get pylons to make movement a bit faster isnt worth it when at the end of my run i can get a teleport stick that lets me move from one side of the map to the other in seconds. plus, for farming fallen stars, i usually have a railway that takes me across the world which is nearly as fast as going to a pylon and teleporting anyways and pylons/railways arent really gonna be used by new players, some of the people i know only do pre-cultist content because of the pillars i didnt mention this in the video but i also think that you having to refight the pillars is a really shit mechanic
@@zynxosit really doesn’t take very long to get the pylons though, you can build shitty NPC houses wherever and as long as you have the nurse and arms dealer you’re good
@@zynxosit's really not a lot of work once you know the preferences of the npcs and the reward is absolutely worth it. Setting a pylon in each biome, especially early game can make traversal incredibly fast. You really should try it sometime.
The issue to me is that the post golem progression doesnt matter at all, because the pillars give you the best weapons anyway. The martian invasion, duke fishron, empress of light etc; you dont have to fight them, or if you do, you only use their weapons until you beat the respective pillar, which is a veery very short period of time..
Not to mentinon the fact that (in my opinoin) the lunatic cultist isn't a hard enough boss to prepare you for the pillars. on my first playthrough i didn't grind nearly as much for the lunatic cultist because i didn't have to in order to beat it. however, since it drops no new weapons or armor and your world becomes significantly harder to traverse, I was even more underpowered for the pillars than the games balancing probably accounted for
If you want to survive from the pillars, you should get Fly saucer mount and alot of great healing potions and mirror and nurse. And buff potion and seek some help from Guide npc.
i play expert so i usually get the broom mount which is easier to get and better. and usually, if not on hardcore, i just tank the event and die twice with little issue
The comments are misunderstanding the video. The pillars aren't exactly bad, the issue with the pillars is the fact that they are very flawed in many ways and make the endgame a drag. The examples used in the video are targeted towards new players, and not information that would be known unless if they are very experienced or had to look online. "Easy" and "be imaginative" are really dumb because people clearly dont get the point of the video

REAL this too! i forgot to add this to my video
Yeah, I think if the weapons required luminite on top of the the fragments, it would solve this issue.

i can see that
all of them is just dig, exept stardust. stardust is farming a sphere for 100(50) kills
