While it's true that we can't control volcanic eruptions, WE CAN CONTROL the number of livestock and car emissions. If scientists have concluded that industrial and agricultural activity is leading to a rapid increase in greenhouse gasses that's increasing global temperatures and could lead to a cold ice age then it's well within our power to effect policies to mitigate those changes.
