There is no bad weather, only bad clothing :D But yeah the thing that is hard in cold weather is the nano caches and when having to roll the logbook. ;)
Jaimee...those black plastic things between the post and the guard rail are hollow. The cache is probably in the hollow. I use my phone camera to "see" ....lol
I like caching in the winter because I don't have to worry about snakes or mosquitoes. It's also a good way to get out of the house after several days of being closed in when the weather has been too cold or when it's snowed. But I'll admit that caching in the woods with snow on the ground can be quite challenging (ok even frustrating). But sometimes I just wanna get out and do it anyway.
I agree. getting outside is the best part for me. I enjoyed the fresh air even though it was cold it hurt to breathe. I also appreciate I don't have to worry about getting stung by a bee in the winter.
And what I noticed when visiting your country in 2018 is that you don't use the "Winter Available" attribute, or very rarely. We use it a bunch here as it helps telling geocachers that your cache risks of being buried under the snow line (3 feet at some places)
That seem pretty accurate. I have noticed the lack of attributes used when hiding caches. I actually will use them to determine what caches I want to go find. I was going to make a video on this. I am trying to figure out how i want to go about it but I hope it gets more people to add those attributes. They are so useful.
tropical sounds lovely right now. I think it is worth "vacationing" to a snowy area to experience it. It is pretty. You just get tired of it when you live in it. I am ready for warmer weather. I hope you do get to see snow one day.
i too am confused and I am the one that did it. I wasn't very awake yet when I filmed it and probably why i was complaining about being hot while putting on the socks. no idea why i had my coat on first. i needed some caffeine 🤣
its -12C here right now and the wind chill brings it down to -21C. I am not a fan of this cold. I am sorry you have those really cold temps. I hope you handle it better than I do. I am a baby about it lol
I am not sure where you are but I think it's all that lake effect snow that brings the cold temps here. the cold definitely bring on another level of difficulty for geocaching.
You think it feels too cold to go out caching in this weather? Just wait until you get north o 40. I know it's cold out when you don't even bring Percy with you. From what I hear on this vid, it sounds like you have a halfway decent singing voice.
It is very cold. I am not sure what north of 40 means. Unless you mean Interstate 40. I am way north of that now living in Pennsylvania. It is so cold here and I can't wait to move back south lol. Percy loves the snow but I do try to keep him limited with how long I keep him out in it. All this rock salt is not great for his paws and he won't wear boots hehe. thank you. I might be able to hit the right note every now and then. lol
@@Stardustzzz Maybe it's good you didn't get that north of 40 reference, I didn't think about the interstate. I meant age. That's a milestone I hit a few years ago, and I'm feeling the cold in my bones when the temps get below my age. My age is the same number as the last Super Bowl the Packers won.
@@Stardustzzz I guess you could take my comment as a compliment then. I've always lived in what I like to call the Great White North, so I've just learned to tough it out.
Thank you.....good nighters

oh no that would be hard. Freezing fingers trying to roll back up a tiny nano log. 🤣

thank you for that tip! I will definitely have to check that out.
Also look for fake screws.
Your dad says, “you crazy! I’m not staying in this cold any longer! I’ll keep the vehicle warm.” 😂
yep that is what happened lol

@@colo3man yeah I remember geocaching in winter and forgetting my snowshoes : knee-deep in the snow for over 400m to find a cache. That was a workout

Greetings from hot and sunny Puerto Rico. Maybe I’ll be geocaching in the weekend. 🥶😂… 🥵
enjoy your nice weather. I am jealous. 🌼
@ thanks 🙏. You know you can ✈️🛫🛬
Wow I have never seen snow, I live in tropical North Queensland, Australia. Maybe one day

@Stardustzzz it's 91°f at midnight right now, so I'm happy to swap 😄
yikes that is very warm for midnight

Good day to stay home and solve puzzle caches
only if they are really, really easy or have a geochecker 😁
@@Stardustzzz more you do the easier they get nice to have friends for help as well 😊
I like caching in the winter as you can follow the geotrail in the snow.
@@Calmjan that is true!
@@Calmjan yeah you got a point there
I'm in South Carolina and its way too cold for me here. I can't imagine being up north like you are. Hard pass 😂🥶
I'd gladly go back to the colder days I had in Georgia over this. I see your area is getting colder than usual temps. Stay warm if you can.
@Stardustzzz oh yes we are. I feel like a hermit because I rarely leave my apartment 🤣
I have always said that I'm a "fair weather" cacher. Nope, nope, nope.
i definitely have weather that i prefer to geocache in over others.
Cold how? We are gonna have a full week of -15C here (Québec) next week.

nope! not a fun time 😁
