I mean i was rooting for Schindler but that was heartbreaking to watch….
Ryan’s gonna be very disappointed with that. 7 missed match darts? Ouch. Martin made him pay for it, and he was better on his doubles in the first place which is why he was able to stay in the game so all credit to him for that.
Just Shows that Darts is Not only played with your arm but also with your head, it is a 50/50 work of Training imo

Searl is a good player but seems to currently lack the mentality needed to be a champ. He needs to stop walking about shaking his head all the time for a start. Fair play to Martin - he dug in deep there. Great wee player. 👏
The truth is harsh. It is true, he doesn't have the minerals to get over the line in the big games. Them 7 missed match darts will haunt him. I'm absolutely gutted for him.

Gefühlt das epischste Finale jemals auf der Euro Tour. Die ganze dachte ich mir so, it‘s over ’til it‘s over und genauso war es. Martin‘s Blick als er zu den Matchdarts ging war auch lustig, einfach dieser Irrglaube, dass er es in dem Match tatsächlich zu Matchdarts geschafft hat…

Of course it would have been very deserved for Searle and you feel sorry for him, but it takes so much to do what Schindler did there. 0:4, 1:5, 2:6, 3:7 - how many players would have started to throw their darts away in frustration like "Well, it's just not my day, not my game". To keep believing, to keep hoping for a tiny chance and to be there when it matters - that's character.
Darts is a sport where you can blame nobody but yourself. You hit the doubles or you don't. Nobody can do it for you, and if the other one has better nerves, that's a quality in itself. Congrats, Martin!

That is the Beauty of this Sport - you can win Even If you Play poorly (which he didnt btw). It is won when the last Dart Hit its Target, in 5 years Nobody will ask how he won - he won and has Not just won because Searle gifted it to him, he was Performing above his average. Just Look how he Hit D20 in this Tournement, that was almost as good as Price in his Prime!
Schindlers scoring was poor but his finishing was really good as it had been the whole tournament.

Poor poor Ryan. I was feeling his agony. This was still a big performance for him, hopefully he can use this experience to grow further and cross that winning line. I believe Schindler had similar struggles for a while, and look at him now. But yeah, someone will be reliving this final as a nightmare later.
