I wonder if increasing the detection threshold would spot failures sooner? In any case it's too expensive for the home hobbyist. Nice video. Thanks.

I started at 60 and reduced to 45 (more sensitive) with no change to shutdown time. It detected the issues on all settings

I see on the Printwatch site they now have a version 1.0.20 which provides "Enhanced settings: setting control has been added for the following: buffer length, buffer percentage. These two settings allow users to control the criteria for a shutoff event depending on how sensitively they want to detect defects." I wonder if that addresses your concern about how quickly printing is stopped.

Thanks. I have spoken to the guts at Printwatch, they tell me the changes do not affect this issues i was having. However, i'm going to give it another test this week and report back to the developers of my printers still fail to stop in good time. Of course, if it starts working as i hope, then i will prepare a second video. Watch this space. Update...I have made some tests and have good news. Video to follow

I was interested till I heard the price. At $9 a month it is in the realm of a streaming service in price, and for the amount of utility that is way too much. I feel the same about UA-cam Premium. It should be about $3-5. Which means I feel like printing watching services should be maybe a dollar a month.
Note you can self-host the Spaghetti Detective for free. It is open source. Note it can't be run from a Raspberry Pi, because it is too compute intensive. This is the direction I am going.

Thats ok if you have the knowhow and pc available to self host. According to their website, on an annual plan the cost is around $6 for the first printer and then drops to just under $3 for each additional printer/per month. So i think the headline $9 (plus $4 for additional printers) is rather misleading as thats only the rolling month plan. Good luck if you are able to set up the Spag Detective on your pc. I also wish the monitoring services were cheaper, probably more people would use them.
