So true. I have two youth leaders at my church, one older and one younger. This basically summed up my entire youth group experience. Keep the new content coming!
You had me at the WOW Cd reference!! As a Christian, we knew what songs were in what color CD cover 😂 AND don't try to hide the casual PAN to the Prince of Egypt 😂😂😂😂😂!!!
I Kissed Dating Goodbye was everywhere when I was in middle and high school. Is that not a thing anymore? I always thought it was kinda messed up, so I'm glad Jake's character was implying that it's not pushed on kids now.
I remember one time we had a scavenger hunt/race around town, just split up into 6-7 groups that drove around and had to video different things off a sheet. I remember one was to go into burger kind and ask for a Big Mac because their slogan is have it your way. When we got back we watched everyone’s videos.... fun activity, but wildly dangerous in hindsight
The San Francisco comment had me dying. The generational gap with "I kissed dating goodbye" is real. You will absolutely be seeing Millennials telling the younger generation to not read that book.
@@monamarie1984 Because a bunch of people who read the book apparently internalized the idea that sex was so bad and shameful, that it actually negatively impacted their marriage (!)
@@maryannvalerio9869 when I read it I just thought - oh okay, I should only date someone that I could see a future with. It actually helped me not waste time on guys who weren't serious. 🤷🏽♀️
@@derek4412 I can’t speak for anyone else, but it messed with my mind. I’m 32 now and I still can’t look at women and expect one to fall out of heaven. It’s absolute Bologna that the evangelical church pushed a book written by a 20 something
I flipped through it after I had been married to see what it was about. 🤷🏼♀️ A valuable life lesson I was taught was to not take one resource and make it the center of my universe. It’s sad to me that many people have such negative reviews, but I truly do see the value in not dating around. I was taught about courtship since I was little and I’ve watched many people go through it successfully. 🤷🏼♀️
Yeah I read that book when I was still a Christian in my 20s and it even seemed a little too restrictive and "let God find them for you" even then. Now that I'm not a Christian I think it's actively harmful.
Oh man being in charge of the slides for the over head projector for praise and worship was a call back to my past that hit me straight in the funny bone 😂
I was part of the Chacha slide generation. Before everyone had cellphones but after everyone had an email. My son is the now generation. This made me laugh so hard because of all the truth.
I just started going to youth group. Yesterday, they had a talent show and I won 4th by playing Freebird. I'm not sure if that is more like your "then" or "now" but it was a good time.
Being a youth pastor myself these days. The cringe moments for the teens is when I use one or two of their “words” sus, bet. Lit😂😂😂 I bring the old school dance moves in and they go for it.
I saw a poster yesterday on a Catholic church for an anti hookup campaign It said "Yolo" "choose to be holy" I was like "huh... Trying to reach the youth??"
“What is he, gay??” 😂😂
This got me so good 🤣
Ain’t no way I read this, as he said it word for word 😂😂😂😂😂
I rewatched…. Yes he said that👏
Yes!!!
As a gay guy who was born in the 90s and high schooler in the mid to late 2000s that hit harf
As a millennial, now I really want that vintage Prince of Egypt doll! lol
It's the commitment for me on Brad's Cha-cha-slide! The energy!
So true. I have two youth leaders at my church, one older and one younger. This basically summed up my entire youth group experience. Keep the new content coming!
The children's names and the dancing had me cracking up😂😂😂
The names are accurate 🌲🌞
Honestly, you should talk to you parents and ask what youth group was like in the 70’s. 😊
That would be Awesome, or the 80's. I've always been curious about that subject; Youth group in the 80's/70's!
Jake: When Sheltered Kid tries to dance.
" Do you have unlimited texts?" Me then: After 7PM. 😂Ending with the zoom in of the Prince of Egypt doll- HILARIOUS; The absolute best ending!🤣🤣🤣
I literally laughed out loud (several times) at this one! 😂😂 About to watch it again for the 5th time and then forward to friends!
You had me at the WOW Cd reference!! As a Christian, we knew what songs were in what color CD cover 😂 AND don't try to hide the casual PAN to the Prince of Egypt 😂😂😂😂😂!!!
Youth groups back in the day will win for me everytime. Take us back, please.
I'm impressed by Brad's moves!
Arranging the chairs in a circle for a game and then back to rows afterwards
I almost peed myself!😂
You two and your dancing moves
KILL me❗😅😅
As a Catholic these remind me of my Sunday School classes this is hilarious the great work you guys just make me laugh all the time😂
Their dancing segments are hilarious!!! Love it!!!! 😂😂😂😂
As someone who was in youth group in the ‘90s, this seems more like “Now vs. Slightly Earlier Than Now” to me.
As a person who was in youth groups, and now teaches a youth group, that “I Kissed Dating Goodbye” bit was way too accurate.
Nailed my youth group experiences
The “then” leader has some moves!!
I Kissed Dating Goodbye was everywhere when I was in middle and high school. Is that not a thing anymore? I always thought it was kinda messed up, so I'm glad Jake's character was implying that it's not pushed on kids now.
The controversy - as always - is in the author and not the content.
Criss Cross…like the cross of Jesus.
Youth group was some of the best days of my life!
You both were in your lane for this video! Love it!😂
I remember one time we had a scavenger hunt/race around town, just split up into 6-7 groups that drove around and had to video different things off a sheet. I remember one was to go into burger kind and ask for a Big Mac because their slogan is have it your way.
When we got back we watched everyone’s videos.... fun activity, but wildly dangerous in hindsight
We did something very similar😅
I grew up with the youth pastors then, so imagining the youth pastors now is absolutely wild lol
All that dancing reminded me of a itch that you can't scratch so you shake like crazy until you feel relief 😂😂😂😂
Haha Brad, your commitment to the cha cha was amazing!
The roll call names 😂
This is pure gold. It may be the most relatable thing I've seen this year😅

Why don't they like it? I remember reading it and liking it 😂😂😂 I'm old 😭😭😭

I like how the whole vid was just filmed in the podcast studio
When we ran through the streets to do scavenger hunts at stranger's houses.
How appropriate that I got a Chick Fil A ad before this video. Love your videos Jean Shorts.
Yooooo you mentioned “I kissed dating goodbye.” That book ruined how I view women / dating. Glad it can be poked fun of today.

I received 14 copies of that book the year it came out.
I still haven’t read it, lol
@@chaosblade5906can I ask why you’re not a Christian anymore
Where was Chubby Bunny? Youth group in the early 00s had a lot of throwing up and grossness.
Yes! What was up with that?
Or chugging a gallon of whole milk….🤢
My youth group drank mountain dew livewire through a sock.
A dirty one, btw
For some reason I had like 3 yth pastors at different churches blend up McDonald’s means into a smoothie and drinks that as a “challenge”…
As a "then" youth grouper, all I can think about now is that Prince of Egypt action figure! I need one!
Oh man being in charge of the slides for the over head projector for praise and worship was a call back to my past that hit me straight in the funny bone 😂
"Do you have unlimited text?" WOW that took me back
Christians vs vaccinated!! 😂😂😂😂
I want to hear the rules for this game 😂
Polio has entered the chat.
TRIPLE KILL
*Measles [Encephilitis] Little Jimmy*
😂😂😂
Anyone else's youth group play polluter?
Ya'll really got the runtime at 3:16 on the Youth Group video
I was part of the Chacha slide generation. Before everyone had cellphones but after everyone had an email. My son is the now generation. This made me laugh so hard because of all the truth.
Not zooming in on the Prince of Egypt 😂😂😂😂😂
NOT THE SOFFE SHORTS 😂😂😂
So ACCURATE!
Hey Jake, was at the Tucson show and saw you and Trey. Made my night! :) love y'all.
One of your best videos yet!
YES bigger and better! My youth group scored a free tv and a couch playing this😂
My youth group one team ended up with a lawnmower , the other….a toilet 😂
I just started going to youth group. Yesterday, they had a talent show and I won 4th by playing Freebird. I'm not sure if that is more like your "then" or "now" but it was a good time.
This skit is priceless beyond imagination. Pretty much a documentary. Intentionally funny by being unintentionally funny.
Not me literally just getting back from San Francisco with my church🙈
That was fantastic. And so true.
The cha cha slide was hilarious. Lol.
And here I am waiting for the electric slide! 😂
Why does the “then” leader look fun, and the “now” leader just look ridiculous? 😂
I could watch a video of just cha-cha slide and griddy-ing (or however the heck it’s spelled) 😂😂😂
Cha cha slide was the best. So good guys! TY
🤣🤣🤣 the whole video was hilarious, that dancing tho got me 😂😂
Bigger and Better was the bomb! My team once ended up with an exercise bike within 5 houses. We were also given a beer at the 2nd house.
So excited I made the throwback names list! Far less Courtneys these days!
😂Serious youth group flash backs! 😮God bless the leaders. It’s not easy. But can have an enormous impact on kids and families.
"WOW C.D." was something I never knew I forgot
The dancing from both of u just really made me laugh.
Stellar job guys!
😆 we went on church work trip to San Francisco and performed a musical called "Revival"... Yessss 👏lol!
"your lulu leggings are to reaveing"!! hahah that is so real
The WOW cd lol yeah baby!!!!
Love you guys! From Kyrgyzstan 😂😂😂❤❤❤
OMG THE PRINCE OF EGYPT DOLL, I remember my youth pastor having this in his office
Jake is actually a good dancer.
Being a youth pastor myself these days. The cringe moments for the teens is when I use one or two of their “words” sus, bet. Lit😂😂😂 I bring the old school dance moves in and they go for it.
loved the dancing 🕺🤩
My parents were youth group leaders in the 80s and 90s. Y’all don’t know what you’re missing! 🤣🤣🤣
The "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" dilemma. 😂😂😂
The I kissed dating goodbye joke killed me
I love this so much!
I went to this church where the Sunday School teacher would play “Good, bad, and gay.”
😂😂😂😂 the NOW names were funny
The I kissed Dating Goodbye book cover looks like Oppenheimer putting on his hat.
What's the story behind I kissed dating goodbye? And why is it not encouraged but was back then?
Well done- again! Thank you
The dance breaks were perfect!
I love when Jake tries to do the dances 😂😂
This is excellent
The Big Daddy Weave got me dying
the "whats your snap" is too real tho 😳
I’m 32. This couldn’t be more real.
The Big Daddy Weave vs. Maverick City is so relatable >_< I feel like music is always Hillsong now.
Brad and the Cha Cha slide
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"He is lactose intolerant what is he gay?" Lol
Only the OGs know that Jake used to be with Josh Horton when Josh’s channel used to be called Jake and Josh!!!
The kissed dating goodbye joke 😂
Did i spot a Prince of Egypt figurine in the corner?!?!? Don’t know how long they has been there but tho millennial ghostie is jealous 😮
Sonny’s name made it into the video!
Omg you guys. I’m laughing so hard
Is that a Prince of Egypt Joseph action doll!!!!!?????
Was that or was that not a Joseph from the Prince of Egypt BARBIE?! That’s wild!!
I saw a poster yesterday on a Catholic church for an anti hookup campaign
It said
"Yolo" "choose to be holy"
I was like "huh... Trying to reach the youth??"
Jake’s dancing 😂😂😂
I've been to three youth groups and one is kinda like this
Hot daaawg, Sunny got a shout out!
