"how many white people can i offend" type beat
great mixtape
Also Jews, Asians, Latinos and homosexuals
Most JPegMafia fans are white just saying
Alot of jpeg fans may be white, but its kind of a different crownd lol. Like, your average person at a jpeg show doesnt even fit in with regular white people.

This is Peggy's most brutal album despite being his "softest" sounding.
While AMHAC has those soft sounding moments, they're still energetic or emotional.
BBC has those moments of political commentary (it's literally in the name) but the production goes a lot more industrial.
Veteran does carry those moments too of course but it's a lot more tongue n cheek and indicative of Peggy's influences. Like an exaggerated version of Peggy.
Just look at songs like 'Swirl.' It's down right BRUTAL. Really makes you remember those girls at BLM protests with signs that fetishize black men.
I think his softest sound is in Ghost~Pop Tape
But I get your point
@@luansousa1379 that's fair. I guess I should say under the JPEG name? That would be more appropriate.

This album is definitely gonna get more acclaim years after the fact.
i hope more peggy fans give this the appreciation it deserves. a lot of ppl on the jpegmafia subreddit love it but i hope more ppl in the fanbase find this masterpiece of a mixtape. one of my favorites ever for sure

koolguy95 yes but he had no acclaim till years later so attention to earlier albums is retroactive. Plus the originals got taken down
I honestly think that in terms of lyricism, this is Peggy's best work. This album deserves the same level of popularity as his more recent works, it's an absolute masterpiece
this is way too edgy to be popular lmao
Even after seeing this cover art many times, it wasn't until the other day that I noticed the person in the background behind the branches.

Context for Lee Daniels Freestyle if it caught you off guard. Taken off Peggy’s Bandcamp:
“This song is a response to racism and prejudice from other marginalized groups. Its purposely offensive, in an effort to prove that talking down to each other gets us no where and makes us lose focus on real opposition. I cannot describe how racism from other groups make me feel in conversation, I've tried, but i cannot.
So hopefully after this song, you will feel as upset and low as it makes me feel when other peoples plight is compared to black peoples, & how worthless playing oppression olympics is and how ugly racism from other people effected by white supremacy is.”

@david esktorp Not sure sure why I’m entertaining your comment, but man this is a pretty narrow view of it all. And you’re entirely strawmanning the points he’s making, while being purposely oblivious to real issues going on.

my favourite peggy album. even more than ghost pop tape, lp and veteran, and all of those are 9/9.5. for me this is a 10. the production, synths, strange but beautiful samples and the flows all come together. It has a clearer sense of direciton than LP which is just all his creativity dumped together, and i think LP could be even better with more fleshed out ideas, but this is perfect. The themes remain, no random jumping around except in rare moments, but he still keeps it fresh and not every song is the same. first listen, i was thinking the songs are too similar, but now im listening through all, it just workks together perfectly. beautiful flow, production, arrangement. 10/10 for me, and thats difficult. and as i listen, i realise how much each lyric has meaning; this album puts more emphasis on social issues than peggy's other albums, political issues and race and what not. TGPT focuses solely on peggy's isolation and depression and appeals to me from a different perspective than this.
each track flows so perfectly its unbelievable. i cant stop listening.
i must say, peggy's personality sometimes seems a bit petty and juvenile but i love that he has that attitude about him, it reflects in this work.
LP! to me is his best, but this album is definitely one of his best. One of the many 10/10s in his list.
@@dez-m lp is great bus as I said, the ideas aren’t as fleshed out and this album does that a little better.

Thats dope, extremely deep on the JPEGMAFIA iceberg
YEA BRO, when i first heard that i freaked out
Peggy kinda reminds me of Mos def, especially this album gives me similar vibes to black on both sides. Mos and Peggy have lots of parallels like Peggy’s song about hipsters and Mos def’s rock and roll. The sampling is great on both and were so different to the popular sounds of the times.
Thank you for this brother
That is when jpeg fully popped up on my radar. Still, years later, I remain highly impressed by his form and content! It’s a street classic!

one of my favorite mixtapes
Absolutely based album.
I read myself back and I see it too I think.
5:12 Intro references an interview recording that became the "sample" of sorts for a steve reich composition. Seems relevant for the title + subject of the song
ua-cam.com/video/g0WVh1D0N50/v-deo.html
More background: 'Composed in 1966, it was originally part of a benefit presented at Town Hall , for the retrial with lawyers of their own choosing, of the six boys arrested for murder during the Harlem riots of 1964. The voice is that of Daniel Hamm, now acquitted and then 19, describing a beating he took in Harlem's 28th precinct. The police were only taking those that were visibly bleeding to the hospital, since Daniel Hamm had no bleeding he proceeded to squeeze open a bruise on his leg. "I had to like open the bruise up and let some of the bruise blood come out to show them." '
I've heard that sample before but didn't know what it was. Thanks for the lesson. That's so fucked up
