AVPL is just amazing. Watch the film to understand why the slap was absolutely necessary for Valmiki. He deserved it from Bantu as Valmiki tortured him immensely & hated him throughout his life & Bantu respected him even after that becoz he thought he was his father till this point in the scene.
This scene is epic because director Trivikram Sir is an excellent writer, This helps him a lot as a director.Allu Arjun and Murali Prasad are exceptional actors and give the right amount of emotions to pull off such scene.

Valmiki tortured Bantu all his life and didn't allow him to pursue good education even when he cracked a seat in a premiere institute and would constantly say, "your life is waste.. Just like mine". That's why Bantu had to slap Valmiki.
