I appreciate seeing the T&S 630....glad to see it at work. Any machine can do free motion quilting but quality is dependant on yhe expertise of the operator. There are various ways of lowering feed dogs or covering them when there isn't a built in lever. Thanks for the demo and keep on using that 630.
Hi, thanks for your informative video. I just got a Singer 640 at Goodwill with a Bakersfield cabinet. I paid 20 dollars for the machine and the mid century cabinet full of notions and thread. I refinished the cabinet and I took the sewing machine to have it serviced . It sews nicely now. I however didn’t bring in any of the fashion cams. I’ve followed the manual and do believe that I have everything set up correctly. Can you provide any help? I still have my mom’s 401a singer, I’ve loved using it. Thanks for your information about sewing machines.
Do you need help with threading the machine or changing the fashion cams? youtu.be I have this video showing how to thread a Singer 640: /81fz2KqW2Do?si=EsqfOLx33JxJrbOX A video showing how to change the fashion discs is on my to-do list. Not sure when it will be uploaded though. Keep checking back with me and make sure you subscribe and click the notification bell so you don't miss it.
I am able to properly thread and sew with my 640. I just can’t get the fashion cams to work at all. I have them seated properly and have the selectors in the right position. I’m wondering if there is a broken gear. Have you any idea if that could be the problem?
@@maryg2779 If the built-in stitches are working OK... I'm not sure it's a gear problem. It's more likely to be the selector. Are you sure you are pushing the stitch selector over far enough to reach the point where it says 'special'? I'm in the process of editing a video on how to use the fashion discs on a Singer Touch & Sew. It should be uploaded this week.

Great video, very informative. I usually embroider on my 66k treadle and find the embroidery foot very useful. 😊
Thank you for sharing. I’m looking for a vintage chain stitch machine.
You're welcome! Keep checking your local listings - you'll find one! Thanks for watching. 🙂
