Hi Jonathan. Great video. The maximum amount of flying time per 24 hour period for a commercial airline Pilot is 8 hrs for one Pilot and 10 hrs for two Pilots. Very much like HGV driving 9 hrs -10 hrs that can be extended, but wont go into that as its complicated. Because everything is recorded the same as an HGV Tacho system, if there were to be an accident the investigators would obvious;y want to see all recorded data. Hence the Black Box Data!
So it’s my understanding that with circle to land the actual circle to land part is hand flown in most aircraft as KTEB has a circle to land and it’s all hand flown
Most crews on modern aircraft will get onto finals and then disengage autopilot. It depends - quite often if they feel they need the practice, they will switch off far earlier.
Hi Jonathan. Thanks for the video. I understand that keeping things all authentic, but why didn't you load the 747 using the simbrief integration just out of interest?
Because I like playing with the FMC :) Also - if you only know how to load a pre-built route into the FMC, you can't re-program a route, or make changes when talking to ATC - which happens all the time in the real world. But really... I just like programming the FMC :)
