Hello and WELCOME to my first ever guide for the Magicka Arcanist!!! The Arcanist is not only one of the most unique and visually stunning classes in the game, but it is also one of the absolute strongest DPS classes that you can use in content, ESPECIALLY in AOE situations! This video is going to break down every element of the brand new class, and teach you how to maximize your damage with it on the dummy and in content!

The increased status effect chance on your wall of elements from your destro staff passives is only active while you have the destro staff equipped. However, with a charged dagger (182% increased status effect chance), the cp node (40%), and the arcanist passive (75%), you should still have about a 3-4% chance per tick of the maelstrom wall to proc burning. The flame enchant will have like a 60% chance though which really bumps those uptimes.
I’m pretty sure that the passive applies directly to skills cast on that bar. I don’t think you lose that bonus for skills like wall for example when swapping to the front bar. Admittedly not 100% sure though! Lots of good additional info here though that I’ll include in the next update :)
earned a sub and like for me great video, granted i usually play stam arcanists / tank but im debating making some pve magicka builds too, already have a magicka pvp build
I run a High Elf Deadly Strike, Perfected Ansuul's Torment, one light Slimecraw & Velothi for the mythic. I did change my blue CP because i had the set wrong. Much beter play & dps output. Great video & thank you. MagCan with dual lightning staves.
Ansuul is only better if you can’t maintain riptide well!

The one *slight* criticism I have is: at 19:36 the setup you show has max stamina enchants which I assume is just an oversight.

Sooo in depth! GGs as usual! … Although i would slightly disagree about azure “doing zero damage in single target fights”. Since it will still proc and do some dmg. About 6% less than meta sets like deadly or pillar on my plar testing, but still better than not having a 5pc bonus at all like plaguebreak (rip) or sulxan. I used to love azure when i first started hm trials as i think it gets alot more value in beginner groups where group cleave dps is alot lower than high end groups. (50-200% more cleave dps depending on comp and content). Azure helps to bridge that gap. But vice versa, it seems much less valuable in higher end groups since u dont need extra cleave dps other than the 2 or 3 specific boss fights u mentioned. :) just my 2 cents.
Perhaps a bit of an over exaggeration to say it does ZERO damage 😉

Hard to Deal with stamina issues. In content there are some mechanics, where u war to have more stamina.

With all so respect, adjusting your build so that it’s easier to play in content is completely fine, but unnecessary. Any issue you have with Stam and mechanics can be solved with reps and progression. This build is doing fine in content :)

In 4 man content where pen not reached, is medium still better to use on body on mag arc, or would light be better? Whorl/deadly combo. Thinking bout pen issue in 4man content
You’d be best off running some light as needed
If you switch your medium slime to a light valkyn or archdruid you will be at 9800 pen on this build. Plenty for 4 man assuming you have major and minor breach
I seen you had whorl on the legs, I havent played in years but isnt running the medium on a large piece and having the 1 light on a small like the belt be better? or where there armor changes that negate that?
It doesn't really matter unless it's a heavy piece
oh okay! last question would deadly and orders wrath be okay to run until i get mythic and whorl? and once i get that could would using rune of the colorless pool for minor vulnerability and minor brittle be better then trap beast? since velothi gives minor force?@@eigh1puppies
A question about armor, is there a reason to go 6/1 vs 5/1/1 for the undaunted passive? Is the 6/1 medium/light just better than the stat boost with a heavy piece?
Yeah the overall stat bonuses light and medium armor give since they changed those a year and a half ish ago have made the 5-1-1 unpreferable for dps over 6-1 or 7 medium. We’re only running 1 light cause the set choices require that

Great Job on such a new class. The only thing you failed to mention is that you will need X amount of skill points before you can even do this setup. As a new class, it's unlikely most of them running around have the required points to set up all the passives and other skills. Having a known amount of skill points to aim for before gearing and skilling up for this build would be really nice. I have to wonder how you had 119 skill points spare after your build was set up though. Did you buy the unlocks from the store or spend a few weeks doing sky shards?
This was on pts! I feel skill points needed are kind of implied when grinding a new toon. Part of the process!
Question, what gear were you wearing for each rotation? I am gonna run deadly/whorl but I also have pillar and I am not sure if the rotation changes if I swap those at all.
Roto won’t change with gear sets! All rotations were done in deadly whorl.
What does meter is that, the one where you see everyone's does in combat. If it's Comcast metrics how do you get it to display? I don't see anything through the combat metrics ui

It’s more preferable to stack medium armor for damage. The passives are a bit stronger. Any more than one light piece begins a marginal loss in dps output.
How are you managing stamina? Seem to run out pretty often with.
Would the static rotation be the exact same if I am running the stam version of the arcanist dd? With coral/deadly or coral/pillar?

How come spec all points into mag on a medium build? Seems like much better to put all points into Stam on this build? Can you help me understand? Thank you!
Armor used to correlate to resources, so Medium used to be good for Stam and Light used to be good for mag. Since the hybridization updates, non of this matters anymore, and stacking medium armor gives a slightly stronger dps increase than stacking medium armor, assuming all raid penetration debuffs are present and adequate!
I'm a bit confused about the optimal gear setup. Should I run 5 pieces of Deadly Strike, 4 pieces of Whorl of The Depths, The Velothi Ur-Mage's Amulet, 2 pieces of Stormfist and a Crushing Wall staff? I would prefer to not abandon the amulet as it seems fun and I suffered a lot with getting the lead from the Scrivener's Hall.
I'd suggest dropping the monster! Monster sets don't do too well on the Arc.
I don't have the depths weapons but I do have the body pieces - does it make that much of a difference if I have deadly weapons and whorl on the body?
It def makes a big difference. Medium armor does a bit more damage then light and you wouldn’t have deadly active both bars. I’m sure you can make it work for now but I’d keep working towards those daggers!
@@eigh1puppies Alright, I'll farm the normal daggers for now - perfected and non-perfected armor can be worn at the same time right?
It won't have the perfected bonus IIRC but this way I can transmute the perfected golden rings instead of spending a fortune turning non-perfected ones gold haha
(Of course losing crit means less damage but I'm guessing it's not as much a dps loss as not having deadly strike active at all times)
What body pieces and weapons are you wearing like for example do you have whorl weapons and jewelry and deadly body? Or what ?
You can check the cmx in the comments and it’ll show you exactly what’s being run! The info tab is shown after the parse as well! It’ll tell you things like gear weight, traits, enchants, and exactly which gear piece is run in which slot!
Even as a fellow dark elf. Once I put the enchants/gear/attributes you show I have less stamina than you show in the clips where you are fighting with this build. How are you getting enough stamina to be able to keep up those two cast of Cephaliarch Flair?
Are you running green max Stam food?

Theoretically speaking, how would Burning Spellweave and Deadly perform together using your plan with daggers and inferno?
Def a bit weaker in long fights but not bad in short fights!

Not front bar but it’s a nice stealth buff for the arc
Curious why you used Dawnbreaker prebuff as thats usually not accepted in parses by guilds like Unify
I just enjoy squeezing every bit of damage possible. 15 seconds of dawnbreaker at the beginning of a parse is less than 2k dps difference at the absolute most, don’t sweat it.

Also realized despite the description saying “magicka arcanist” all I’m seeing is stamina gear in your video. Not sure we’re on the same page, but maybe I’m just missing something.
Yeah so “Magicka” vs “Stamina” is kind of arbitrary in the world of min maxing, it doesn’t really matter outside of sustain. You’ll always go all into one or all into the other based on skills, but medium armor is always better (outside of some solo/four man content).
Depths pillar is a solid setup, but deadly depths is just better!

Im currently running Orders wrath/deadly/slimecraw, and i definitely run out and need stam potions. How do you have all that regen?

Def recommend Stam. Stam is a bit easier and smaller skill gap + higher damage

Light Attacks don’t really matter on the arc, and daggers just give the best bonuses by far. If you’d like to run a staff just to run one, Lightning front bar is very strong

You'll lose a good bit of damage on Argonian. I would suggest keeping Whorl on the Weapons but it's not the end of the world if It's on the body.

@@wolfofodin1996 2% is relative though. If it’s a 2-4% loss on a player maxing damage, that’s up to a 2-5k dps loss, and that can add up. Thats why I say decent damage loss

You’ll lose some damage for sure, but it won’t ruin the build by any means

This I pretty much my main set up but I'm struggling on the dps side I'm only able to hit 60k and my fatecarver is only hit 29k highest tick on a trial dummy but I am only 550 cp ?
Are you parsing on the 21 mil dummy?
Yes and I was able to get it up to 70k 4 min 51 sec I didn't realize I was using the wrong morph of 2 skills and I changed jewelery to bloodthirsty that helped alot I was thinking of using spectral cloak for more dps or malstrum staff back bar wyt

Yeah you can, it doesn't matter if you use perfected or non-perfected, depending on the set it may only increase dps just a Little.

If we never run out of magical and 3/5 spells in rotation use Stam why are you using magicka enchants. I seem to be running out of stam around 3rd 4th rotation. What’s the benefit of the magicka boost over stam?
This is just the “mag” spec. The only thing that dictates that is where you spec your attributes. Damage scales off a few stats, your max resources being one of them, so it’s worthwhile to stack everything into one resource.
Are you running Tri/Heroism pots? You shouldn’t have Stam issues unless there are some mistakes in the roto or if you happen to forget that important detail!

@@eigh1puppies not hero pots, but i could try to use a tri pot for parsing. With stamina build all i need is the lava foot soup and not have issues. I was trying to dabble with the magic build since my arc is an altmer for a little more dps but, if all else fails if i cant get it to work i'll just have to stick with stam. Maybe it's because i dont have whorl daggers/jewelry?

I gave some beginner options! Order's Wrath is a craftable that I suggested running until you can get trial gear, and deadly is pretty easy to obtain from guild traders or cyrdoill boxes :)

Race does not matter. It's a negligible difference and can be compensated in a number of other ways.
Clarify, Race doesn’t matter to what YOURE doing. If you’re concerned with pushing max damage, it does matter greatly

@@BlackBlazeGamingprebuff yes, but dropping Flawless and having ultimate back immediately doesn't happen in content when starting a boss fight. Most guilds I've seen don't accept DB prebuff for that reason. That's the part about dummy parsing I will never understand because it can't happen realistically. But I guess in content you still get more buffs in a super optimized group like the ones Puppies runs so I guess it evens out. I just hope we never get DPS in content tracker for console 😅🫣🤣

Whorl has a high mastery curve in some content for sure. It’s strong in content, but you have to think about and control the procs in some scenarios to get max utilization.

Yup. Medium Armor gives the strongest bonuses
If your group provides enough synergies and penetration. That's not a solo or unorganized group setup.
Yeah do not even bother to go into pugs with this setup, you wont have enough pen.
