"Stan says the same thing every time." There is a great quote from Bas Rutten about teaching his fighting classes about a given move. A student asked why he kept saying the same thing over and over, and Bas said, "Because you're still not doing it."
And I know where I'm getting my next bloodwork from! Damn! I knew Merrick Health would be legit with Derreck running it. Now that Stan's filled me in on the prices, I most certainly am going to use this service. Huge value add for me. Thanks guys.
Man this one was great. I love Stan, been buying his Monster Mash for a long while now. It's awesome by the way. So happy to see Stan on a Table Talk! Great episode!!! Marine Mike
Yes, I too wanted to be a drug counselor while in college and thinking of a career. Fortunately I was also asked if I’d had a drug or alcohol “problem” myself - that a family member doesn’t count - that not knowing the games I’d be eaten alive… Thus I dropped that career goal and did something else. Finding good matches is more than useful; it can be crucial.
Larry would be great. Big Loz would be great also. I think Loz and Dave would hit it off naturally more so that Larry, just my opinion. Loz is more personable/better talker and he is just as passionate about Strongman as Dave is on Powerlifting and it would be epic to see those two square off and go on tangents for a few hours! Marine Mike 🇺🇸
@@michaelholder98 that's a good point. Loz definitely is better to listen to on camera and has more of a personality too. It would be interesting to hear Dave's response to Larry's training programming and any advice he could give. I feel like he's really similar to Juji being a multi sport athlete and trying to peak multiple disciplines in the same year.
Man it'll be awesome to become a personal trainer after a few years. I want to get jacked and help others. This sounds like the best advice of how to run personal training for clients.
If I was seeking a trainer, a flat rate , no matter how many times I came, would be an instant no-go. A lot of BJJ gyms use this model and I’ve looked right over them. I want to pay someone their worth for what I’m taking, no more and no less.
I can already tell 15 min into this video that its going to be invaluable to me as a passionate advanced lifter who is now looking to part time start taking on a handful of clients to train. 2022 my goal is to get and retain 3-5 solid people training with me 3 days/week. I want to give them an experience unlike anything they've ever had before and legitimately changes their life for the better. Not just physically. I am going to build their confidence and help them change their fucking life! I am pumped, excited, motivated, and inspired. Enough mastubating my fantasies and time to put it into action. Elitefts - expect an email coming my way before end of week...getting the basic power rack from you for my garage gym. Already I am training my 9th grade nephew and 2 hockey buddies of his with the very limited shit I got...but I can get really, really creative! I make good income from my profession, outside of fitness industry. I'm going to offer my training for free...I want to find 3-5 people (mix of men and women of varying fitness levels and life circumstances) who are hungry and really truly value this shit. Then record their results, watch them evolve and achieve their goals, let word of mouth spread, and slowly, my wings will spread. I am coming, and I am going to blow 98%+ of trainers in Michigan out of the water...I know this. My passion and Will is too great!! Sorry for the rant - got excited!!! Marine Mike 🇺🇸
Now I'm curious of these flash in the pan coaches or people pushing their programs who are no longer in the game. I can't think of specific people but I bet if I heard names I'd say, oh yeah, I remember that person lol.
Stan and everyone here knows there shit and I really loved everything Stan said until he talked about a miss Olympia lifter being the most shredded on stage just due to 10 minute walks a day and his diet. She was shredded on stage because she took Anavar aka steroids that let her lift heavy with unachievable low body fat composition without the use of peds. Just say it as it is don't credit your diet and methodology as being able to drastically alter physiology when you know it's bs marketing. That being said the vertical diet is the best diet for athletic performance.
Stan completely misses the mark on core strength regarding flutter kicks. If you maintain a posterior pelvic tilt while doing them they're great. His bias as a lifter is that core strength = ability to hold a brace. It's important but not all encompassing
“It’s neural adaptation initially” No, it’s hypertrophy as well. You think you can apply a novel stimuli and have no response? A person has never squatted or done deadlifts and they experience zero hypertrophy after their first exposure to that? Opposite way around. The most hypertrophy occurs after the first exposure and diminishes with time.
Please have eric bugenhagen on the podcast or have Dave react to Eric's conjugate. one of the best podcasts by the way

A very wise man once told me, repetition is the mother of all skills !
You know something has been worth watching when 2 hrs feels like 20 minutes. Another brilliant table talk.
Nothing better than the old clips of Stan pulling heavy Deadlifts while grunting, up up up up! Pure Gold
He still does it!
I like his powerlifting meet mode, if you haven’t seen it, it’s quite the treat. He just outright yells in all of his lifts!
I'm a simple man. I see Stan, I click.
Thanks brother!! 🙏
Been waiting years for this podcast!!!!
Thank you!
Stan is a GOAT across so many strength disciplines 💪
💯
Seriously

I'm convinced I have every Stan interview out there -in it's own playlist. Can listen to this man for days!
And I know where I'm getting my next bloodwork from! Damn!
I knew Merrick Health would be legit with Derreck running it. Now that Stan's filled me in on the prices, I most certainly am going to use this service. Huge value add for me. Thanks guys.

Great question for Stan at 54:45 about how to excel after training and hitting plateaus.
Stan has a great radio voice
I don’t think much gen pop watches this podcast tbh😂😂 I love you guys
As a new trainer at 22 I’m blessed to be able to have information at my fingertips like this.
Yes, I too wanted to be a drug counselor while in college and thinking of a career. Fortunately I was also asked if I’d had a drug or alcohol “problem” myself - that a family member doesn’t count - that not knowing the games I’d be eaten alive…

“Nagging pains in their 40’s and 50’s. How about mid 60’s?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣All the best to you always.

Dave's laugh is great
Great 👍. All strenght is functional, to get out of one's chair, to start with 😄
Marek health is managed by derek from more plates more dates!!
Anyone know where to find Stan’s referenced blood panel? Talked about at roughly the 1hr mark?
Marek Health is the name of the company.
Where could I find this blood profile analysis that Stan comprised with Marek health?
A great conversation, but not enough salt
What are the chances we could ever see Larry wheels on here? He's done zoom interviews in the past and I'm sure he's very aware of who Dave is....
Larry would be great. Big Loz would be great also. I think Loz and Dave would hit it off naturally more so that Larry, just my opinion. I think we've all been waiting for Dave and Stan to shoot the shit... Awesome
Question for Stan, building a career before starting a family. How did that go?
Dave Tates the fucking man, and Stan is AN OG, using credit cards to pay for credits cards to pay for credits kinda OG.
OG triple OG leveraging

How’s your progress on your goals coming along this year, Mr Marine Mike?
Now I'm curious of these flash in the pan coaches or people pushing their programs who are no longer in the game. I can't think of specific people but I bet if I heard names I'd say, oh yeah, I remember that person lol.
is chuck vogelpohl still alive?
Is the heart a yes?
@@chuckatley1464 Yes he posts on instagram
I didn’t finally start really stretching in a daily basis till my 40 s lol
Matt who?
I’d love to learn more about Matt and his work. Anyone know Matt’s last name? I thought he said Whitmer, but couldn’t find anything on him
Wiedemer

west sider ftw
One day a week is very valuable. It can set a pattern into motion. Don't discount it.

I love Stan but god damn dude, not everything is a marketing platform.
They are saying $100 blood panel, but it looks like $411…
Yeah I noticed that too. Disappointing.
Roiders
Great conversation!
Stan is so great!
So much knowledge and wisdom. I needed this today. thank you!
