That was the most beautiful birthday song ever! And idk why but I find it so interesting that they're just sitting doing an episode of fiyero time while Defying Gravity is on in the background, I wouldn't be able to fucos haha
What I'm wondering, is how they get Boq into the Tin Man outfit so quickly? Like I know his outfit is already grey, but they have to make his hair and face grey in like 20 seconds.
they have an actor in the makeup in the left side of the wardrobe so when elphaba wheels boq around, they switch places and the lines are lip synced by the tin man character for the scene
Now THATS how theatre people sing Happy Birthday!! XD one of the best parts of theatre fellowship is the awesome singing and harmonizing to "happy birthday" XD
4:38 I LOVEEEEEE HEARING THE OPENING ANNOUCMENT AND THEN THE ORCHRESTRA STARTS PLAYING NO ONE MOURNS! HOLY CRAP. THAT IS THE TIME FOR A MOMENT OF SILENCE!!
It's cool that Robin de Jesus was Boq and that Mandy Gonzalez was Elphaba because they were also in "In the Heights" together: Mandy Gonzalez was Nina and he was Sonny. I like how at 12:00, Madame Morrible is dancing (don't know the actress's name).
Jonah, When I first watched this yesterday I couldn’t get over how much you look like Ben Platt only to do some research and realize he is your brother and your Dad is the film and stage producer Marc Platt. What an amazing and talented family you have. You are a very talented guy. I saw WICKED a week after Idina had won the Tony at the Gershwin. Literally it was the 7pm Sunday performance and the day of the Puerto Rican Parade. Kristen Chenoweth, Norbert Leo Butz and Joel Grey were all out sick. And Idina was taken out of the show at intermission due to illness and was replaced by Eden Espinoza . It was definitely a strange performance. I later saw the show in Los Angeles with Eden and Megan Hilty and it was unbelievable. They both made the show uniquely their own. A friend of mine Carole Shelley was the only original cast member that actually made it through the New York performance that night. I think they all had gotten ill at some Thai restaurant in the Village, but don’t quote me cause I’m not sure. God bless and belated Happy Birthday! Ethan Nielson P. S. I was an actor in L.A. for many years and came to realize that in losing the role of Conrad Jarrett in the film ORDINARY PEOPLE my career wasn’t going to go as planned. But I suppose there are unforeseen reasons for everything. www.ethansfilmreviews.com
I think I was the only one crying at curtain call.... Don't judge me... One day I will be on that stage. Or any broadway stage for that matter. Ps. Love the vlogs
+Chris Will I'm sure you will! i actually got to be on that stage last night after i saw the show because apparently my aunt has an in with a swing in the show. It was amazing. Unlike anything i can imagine. One regret is i was too speechless to sing or even talk so i didn't get to sing on a broadway stage. but one day i'll hopefully return and get to sing every night :)
+ Chris Will Curtain calls are pure magic. I would also love to be on Broadway one day.... I did get to be on the stage in Habima theater during a tour. It was amazing!
Lets just take a tally: Wicked Vlogs- 4 (Oz blog, Fly Girl, Think Pink, and this.) Vlogs for all Disney shows combined- 2 (King of New York for Newsies and I dream of Genie for Aladdin.) Why haven't they done one for Lion King!!
I do have a million dollar question for you Fyiero, it’s that your real name & in the second act of the show you became someone else, the Scarecrow . How did you get inspired to act that part ? Did you actually read the story of the Wizard of Oz or saw the movie ?
That moment when you can't pay attention to jonah and robin because defying gravity is playing in the background. love this vlog!
hahaha omg, same! couldnt focus bc of defying gravity scene
I literally didn't even listen I just jammed to defying gravity
He might need to rethink the spot to do questions lol. For our sanity at least :) I love fiyero time but I love DG even more.
Yess!!! I was just about to comment the same exact thing!
Yeees!!!XD
Hearing Defying Gravity in the background of the q&a was absolutely magical
Totally true hah
@@lewijenkins5293 I couldn't decide whether I wanted to listen to the Q&A or listen to "Defying Gravity" in the background.
Theatre people singing happy birthday will forever be my favorite thing. All the harmonizing 😭
Yeah, Broadway people singing "Happy Birthday" is a totally different story than what you're used to.
never have I ever heard the "happy birthday" song sung so beautifully!
Right 😅***
UGH WANNA BE ON BROADWAY SO BAD. You can tell they have so much fun backstage and onstage 😭
Im a stage actor but not on bradway
@@lewijenkins5293 that's sooo cool
@@lewijenkins5293 Omg sounds super!!!
Nothing like a bunch of theatre people singing Happy Birthday to make everyone else feel like shit when they sing it...
They're so in tune!
Rachel's riffs during the DG playing in the background during the question part sound PERFECT!!!!!!
Rachel's accent tho. It's kinda adorable xD
i cried during the bows when i saw the show in person and i cried watching it on youtube. it makes me so emotional.
Got chills just watching the bows...
That was the most beautiful birthday song ever! And idk why but I find it so interesting that they're just sitting doing an episode of fiyero time while Defying Gravity is on in the background, I wouldn't be able to fucos haha

Another actor already has the make up on and switches with the real boq then after in the finale the real boq would come out
I just saw wicked for the first time today. I love musical theatre, and this makes me so happy
defying gravity in the background is one of the best things ever
I just realized this was the cast that was performing when I went to go see it. Btw it was amazing and the first broadway show I saw on broadway
Just love Rachel's "too long I've been afraid of"... in the background.
ROBIN!! throwback to IN THE HEIGHTS
I love it when he thanks his relatives
Happy birthday :) Only on broadway will you get a birthday song sung to you so clean. Compared to this my family sounds like a group of dying goats.
hahaha true
Rude
@@lewijenkins5293 Why?
Robin de Jesus is a perfect human.
true
The truth is out
Loved hearing Defying Gravity in the background on this.
also 4:50, this is what you get when two actors are actually comfortable together, and it shows
Most on key Happy Birthday EVER!!!!
Best performance of happy birthday ever
Happy Birthday Jonah! Seems like so much fun backstage!
congrats on all ur success !!!!!
The voice over before the overture plays saying to take a moment to unwrap any candy @4:55 :'D Omg I nearly died! That's the best!!! hahaha

My two favourite characters and people in one room together doing a Q&A just made me so so happy. Highlight of my week! Thanks guys!

Everyone is talking about Defying Gravity, but can we acknowledge the being of No Good Deed?! It's my favorite out of all the Wicked songs.
“But it gets better” Robin honey do you know the plot
But what did Rachel do during ALAYM
Distracted bc I hear defying gravity in the background. Omg the chills

guilty of that 😂
“Don’t tell your fiancé” (he doesn’t know they’re getting married bad Elphaba)
I wonder if Rachel gave him hi special kiss😙

Having happy birthday sung for you by people who can actually sing
I know this is probably common knowledge but is Jonah related to Ben Platt?

If you need help finding the Defying gravity part it at it's strongest around 9:30-10:13 you still have to listen though 😉
Rachel 💜💜
I Love the Go winky it’s your Birthday song hahahaha 0:33
This Aunt Amy sounds AWESOME! Cake! Beatles Magnets! She rocks!

Is there an eps 3 right now
Jonah is reallly Handsome,,, the Platt bros are certainly not suffering from the lack of body hair... #hairybros #chesthairishot
I know this is like 5 years old but I’m curious as to how actors and their significant other feels seeing them kiss other people in shows.
why is robin talking like that? I love it sooo muttch!
