someone said the only true constant in life is change and this video is a tribute to such....in the 1980s i and a friend put a canoe in at hammets crossing on the pedernales river and paddled to mansifeld dam....took us a week and we camped every night on the banks of the peder and lake travis.....could not do that now at all.....most of the time we were clothesless.... could not do that now....the raw, true wilderness experience of a large body of water has been replaced by the suburbanization of the area....not complaining at all, just saying....wow, things have changed.....for the better?

I was just in Austin looking for a possible home. Everything I looked at is either 1 insane high property tax, 2 HOA which is completely out of the question 3 double the price from 2 years ago. 4 needs more work than a high school band, it’s truly a free for all, charging whatever price owners see fit. Just throw those comps out the window as in Austin they mean very little, etc etc etc. Highly over rated at its price point when compared to the beach life I live in so cal with perfect weather and beautiful mountains for skying a 2 hour drive. Sorry but no thanks. Not even worth the move to remove myself from the political climate of Cali.
It's true Jeff. The secret is finding properties in unrestricted areas as the tax rates are much less!
Just popping by to congratulate you on choosing not to live in Austin. It’s is not a very different political climate from Cali…. Thanks to all the people from Cali who left Cali, but brought the BS Cali politics with them. Move to a place that fits you. Don’t invade a place and change it. Also, you’re missing out on record heat with a drought in Austin. Oh and the power grid is terrible. It hit 110 degrees yesterday and the power started going out. Austin sucks. Tell your friends.
