Could you do a video on how you repair broken nails please? Also, how to file/shape them to keep the nails straight. I finally grew mine out, but they curl like a bird beak and I do not like them.
I am so glad you made this long form video. As I watched your gorgeous reels, I had so many questions about the specifics of your process. Quite a few were answered in this video. Thank you! I saw a couple of other comments I'd like to echo - if you do more long form videos, I would love to see how you repair broken nails. I've got my own method, but now that I've seen your nails and have decided that they are *actual perfection* I want to learn everything I can about your process. I'd watch a full hour-long video of your process from start to extremely detailed finish, if you made one. Like another commenter mentioned, my nails curve downward (like a bird's hooked beak) as they grow out. I have a method to correct this somewhat, and I'll attempt to explain it: While curing my nails under a lamp, I press my finger onto a small metal rod which presses the nail (free-edge, I think?) upward into a more straight position, rather than curving downward. The rod is positioned like a nail form and functions in a similar way. I can feel pressure as the nail pulls upward, but I am careful not to do it so extremely that it's painful. And any odd feelings usually subside over night as my nail gets used to the new position. It does help with the downward curvature, and I've been hoping that overtime, it will train my nails to grow straight rather than curving downard, but I don't know if it's healthy or not. Or if there's a better way!
Would love videos on how you prep and apply gel manicures as well as the removal process! I'm new to gel polish and though I'm careful, it still seems I may be damaging my natural nails especially during the removal process 💞 I dream of having nails as beautiful as yours
May I vent here for a quick second. I was traveling this summer. Prior to my nails were like yours and I took very good care of them and my hands. I went in to the salon and called prior to see if they offered ‘Rubber Builder Gel’. So I could protect them while traveling. It was builder gel in the tube that came out in chunk for each nail and she spread it around. My nails remained/maintained length and strength so I thought. Upon removal they appeared intact, after returning home I saw splits and damage. I chopped them as low as they’d go and decided that I’d have to start over. And yes I wanted to cry, after seeing the builder gel here it seems less harsh and easier to do. And more of what I thought I would be getting.
Just 5 years! I’m following you on Instagram for so long and you are extremely talented. I wouldn’t say it’s from just 5 years! 😳 I love your works and your voice ☺️
Honesty it feels like I blinked and it passed by! Thank you so much for your so very kind words, for being a part of my journey and for joining me here! There will be more talking coming up on this channel🥰
Would love a video on cuticle care specifically! I’ve bit mine my whole life and have finally gotten them to look like your before photo, getting through that last stretch would be amazing!
I love your content so very much. The feminine and dainty way you perform your craft is perfection and I just love watching your content. I am hoping to grow up to be like you one day!!!! ❤😂😊thank you !
Wow that's so kind of you to say and I'm really happy that you enjoy my content, it means a lot to me! Grow to be the best, kind and loving person you can be continuously through life!! 🥰💛
Definitely recommend not playing around with gel. I was wearing gel for years then started doing my own nails. I got a horrid reaction that lasted a month. I’m talking blisters under my nail beds and around. I stopped all chemicals but my nails have never been the same. It make me so sad looking at my nails that once upon a time grew out like I already had a manicure 😓
Wow! Gratulálok a sikeredhez! Most találtalak meg, mert borzasztóan le vannak törve a körmeim (nyilván én tehetek róla), és segítségért jöttem youtube-ra 🙈 Megpróbálom betartani a tanácsaidat, remélem nekem is egyszer ilyen szép hosszú, természetes körmeim lesznek mint neked! 🙏🏻 További sok sikert kívánok, csak így tovább! 💗
Thank you so much for such a detailed video! ❤ I have two questions: 1) My main issue is that my nails tend to turn inward as they grow longer, and they don’t look as nice. Is there anything I can do to fix this? 2) Do press-on nails damage natural nails?😊
hello, I'm practically your fan) I really like your way of speaking! you are a very pleasant and comfortable person. thank you for the video, I will adhere to these rules, I have already ordered cuticle oil and use a good strengthening varnish💕good luck to you!
Thank you so much, that’s so lovely of you to say! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and my TikTok also! If you’re able to, keep us updated with your nail journey, I would love to hear about your progression 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I have gone back to rubber base and gel polish. As I was growing out my natural nails but had a period of illness health and moving so I had literally no time for regular manicure... I'm enjoying not having my nails snapping and tearing as they were tearing below the free edge so I needed a big help x
Ahh bless you, I hope you've made a full recovery and your moving is all sorted now! Builders/bases are soo useful to help reduce the rips and tears for sure! If you can, be sure to put a little oil on those cuticles too, it goes a long way in helping the natural nail health xx
Thank you so much! I had a bad habit of biting my nails, but I stopped about 4 months ago! I’m super excited, but it’s been quite a journey, and now my nails are weak and chipping, maybe because I haven’t developed good habits yet. I’ve started over, cut them super short, and I’m going to follow your tips! I love your channel! One question: when my nails were longer, I had trouble shaping them. It was really hard to get a nice oval shape. Do you have any special technique for that?
Great introduction video! In seeing your shorts, you show using a long thin nail art brush after applying builder gel. Can you share why you use it and how it helps? TIA
Thank you! It's a detailed nail art brush which I find helps to give me more control in spreading, leveling and getting to the edges of the nails more neatly. Everyone has their own preferred technique which works for them so whatever gets the job done! 💛
Thank you for this video. As a nail enthusiast, I am so thankful for you. I only do my nails and I love learning about all of the different nail techniques. This video is awesome....You inspire me so THANK YOU! Question: do you use a builder gel or a hard gel on your nails?
Thank you so much for your kind words and I’m glad you found the video useful! I’m currently using builder gels rather than hard gels as I prefer to have a little more flex with my nails and also to soak off rather than to file off. Both are great for adding strength to the natural nails. It just depends what level of protection you’re looking for and what suits your lifestyle. I hope this helps! 🫶🏻
Thank you and I'm glad you found it useful! Like any other harsh chemical, to protect from chlorine, for example in a pool setting, you could wear a protective base coat on your nails to limit contact with the nail plate and also regularly moisturise your hands and cuticles to prevent dehydration. You could keep a little hand cream and cuticle oil with you wherever you go. The best protection will of course be to avoid contact for extended periods of times, if not always and where practical to do so. I would also suggest wearing gloves but that may look a little odd in a pool setting! 🤍
Hello! I apply sunscreen to my hands (avoiding the nail plates) BEFORE inserting my hands into the UV lamp. I usually apply the sunscreen first, then start buffing/prepping etc to give the product time to absorb
Thank you! In the UK I have done a VTCT in Nail Technology (this is the main certified and recognised one) and also completed additional courses in e file training, prep and application across to learn different techniques from different countries and adapt mine along the way. I've also recently finished another VTCT in Education and Training as teaching is something I've always wanted to do!
I've not experienced this myself. I'm currently using the gelish clear foundation flex base and it cures clear without any cloudiness, maybe try that one and see if you get better results? 🫶
Your before nails look 100 times better than mine.. I used to grow beautiful long nails but I dont know what happened. Now I have these weird deep ridges in all of my nails and they are so fragile and just flake off at the free edge.. I want to start my own nail channel but I'm embarrassed to even show my own nails... Also: at 6:55 what is that under your nail?
Most nails have ridges in them but deep ones like what you mentioned can be associated to a range of causes such as (not trying to scare you) underlying health problems, diet deficiencies, care of nails, trauma to the nail plate or as we simply get older, sadly our cells slow and this can cause them too! Start with the basics of what you can control; ensure you're eating a balanced diet, wear gloves, moisturize your hands, apply cuticle oil and follow the other tips in this video. If things don't improve, visit a doctor to make sure you're healthy as can be and see if they would recommend some additional supplements or such. You should record your progress! Why not right? Don't be embarrassed about it. No one is perfect and it's always nice looking back at how you improved something in your life. Also at 6:55 it's my hyponychium (thick skin under the nail plate) which I'm just pushing back before trimming my nails. It naturally grows out to support the nail as your nails get longer. Wishing you well on your nail healing journey 🫶💛
If you have an allergic reaction to a gel polish, the first step is stop use immediately, then identify which chemical within the product that is causing the allergic reaction. A dermatologist can usually test this or recommend further specialist testing. Sometimes it's not always the gel polish alone. Underlying health conditions can also be aggravated by gel polish application causing reactions. Not all gel polish brands are created equal with their chemical makeup so choosing a brand that doesn't contain high levels of compounds you're susceptible to, is important. Gel polishes are usually for professional use only and I'm not naive to think that non-professionals won't use professional products but everyone should at least be aware of the risks of improper use and what under cured gel and skin contact can lead to. I feel like I could honestly write a book about this so I'll stop this message here! 🫶
I had no idea the gel or other types of nail builders might be lifting, coming off or chipping because your nails are damaged, maybe that's why my gel is so shitty or actually it's my nails not the gel 😅😂
I do on occasion knock them but for the most part I got used to them being this length so it doesn't really happen too often and the builder base offers a layer of protection too. It just comes with the territory I suppose 😅🫶
Hi I use both hand lotion and sunflower oil on my hands and nails. Do you recommend lathering on the lotion first, or the oil? I'm not sure which comes first, and nothing useful has come up in Google so far. Hence I currently just follow the moisturizer -> facial oil procedure which is the correct order for the face. I used to do oil -> moisturizer before, but I noticed that took longer to be absorbed into my hands (although it still did get absorbed). With this routine, I use a more potent cuticle oil solely at nighttime because I can't afford to easily replenish cuticle oil if I use it more often throughout the day (I wash my hands often). My current routine allows my hands to be maintained throughout the day and maximize the nourishing benefits of my cuticle oil because I use it before I sleep at night. Local and Japanese hand creams here are usually 5-7 USD, but if you are willing to shell out money on Korean hand creams, that'll be 7-15 USD. I find that local and Japanese hand creams do the job well already. I'm often told I'm quite extra with my hands, but like you I constantly suffered from dry hands and nails that always break and never grow long.
