what I love about this guys demos is that he plays the appropriate recognizable tunes that fit what effect he is demonstrating, be it the SRV on this one, or the U2 and Cure on the other demo vids.
I love this pedal. It has a delay as well ,not usually shown. The Plate setting is great for more subtle settings. It has changed how good a pedal has to be before I buy one when considering the 8 presets. Different than my TRRI reverb and in some ways more usable .
I have one, and I was concerned about noise because I used to have a Holy Grail that was really noisy. I also was planning on using it in my effects loop because I didn't want it affecting my tone, but it's really clean. I put it before my DL4 (green delay) box set in an analog Mod delay and it's an amazing combo...especially when you start using the infinite delay. This pedal is remarkable.
@ItsA6StringThing - There's no right or wrong. Different strokes for different folks. We like the sound of going in the front even with mad power tube saturation. That's how everybody did it back in the day....we're old-school like that. Thanks! -PGS Crew
i want i want i want its like all kinds of reverbs, a reverse effect, a flange, an infinite feature, and a delay, and it all sounds amazing, plus, its stereo.
HOLY SHIT! LENNY SOUNDED PERFECT IN TONE! THAT WAS INCREDIBLE PLAYING! So nice. So freaking nice. Well fucking done. I want this pedal, it will be mine.
mine is going to arrive next week! simply can't wait!!!! *drool* this will give me some FEVERB!!!!!! you heard me! FEVERB! LOL! Nice demo as always Andy & PGS! :)
@redroveredgestapo i've played through this and the re 20 and ended up buying the re 20. It is my favorite pedal on my board, really useful with 11 settings and reverb
Andy's favorite reverb pedal is the Hardwire Supernatural Verb because he helped design it and there second shipment is sold out. Hey, do you guys do pre-pre-orders XP
you can also get a good vibrato going on the flerb with the tone knob down.... gets more of that swirly chorus as reverb is doing the job of the delay found in chorus pedals...
I don't think you could go wrong with either, but I'd personally say the Hall of Fame. Granted, I haven't given the Cathedral as much attention as I have the HoF, but I'd give the edge to the HoF. Also, the HoF might fit better on a pedal board if you have one - the Cathedral would take up a lot of room.
@ItsA6StringThing - We didn't put this in the effects loop for this video, we went straight in the front. We don't need no stinking effects loop : ) -PGS Crew
@glassslide i used to think since i've been loving you and tea for one sounded alike too, but the tempo and the slow blues of them are the only things that makes them sound alike to me now. i love the presence album. definitely underrated. the only album that was bass/guitar/drums/vocals (and harmonica if you want to add that because i've always thought plant was one of the best rock-harmonica players out there.)
What was the last tune you played? I have checked out nearly all of your demos and I love what you do. You are a great guitarist, keep up the good work!
Holy shit! I just found this thing shopping for some new equipment when I get my "fuck you money" so far this thing will be the best investment to make!!!
I have a question...How does it sound if I connect the pedal to an external sound card? (direct recording) The sound keeps the quality? Very good review and awesome pedal like all the products of electro harmonix. Greetings from Argentina
@amarr1 oh, cuz i seen a pedal demo of a reverb and the guy said it was analog, i cant remember which pedal, but it wasnt a spring unit, who knows. thanks anywayz ;-)
The SChicken sounds great for chords, surfy stuff and solos, it keeps your playing dynamics, but it doesn't give you a "Hall" or "Room" settings per say, just Spring. Cheers
This is a device that someone would use in the studio .......... Not in a working band on the road 300 nights a year... Try trying to see and set those tiny nobs in a dark bar room stage ...... I do like the quality of E H but too tiny.. ....... This box is GREAT for the bedroom jam session, maybe a home studio.....
what's the song at the end of the vid? anyway great pedal, I've been thinking of getting a reverb that would give me more versatility than just amp reverb no matter how good it can be... and this looks like a very versatile one with many different sounds..
this, a delay, and a pushed amp are a shoegazers best friends
just got me cathedral few hours ago and Its great. I cant stop playing
what I love about this guys demos is that he plays the appropriate recognizable tunes that fit what effect he is demonstrating, be it the SRV on this one, or the U2 and Cure on the other demo vids.
Whenever I have a reverb effect on I always have to do a huge, crushing Em haha
man, EH sure makes some beautiful looking pedals
my god andy! you really REALLY nailed that lenny tone and feel. my compliments to you mister.
that reverse effect kicks ass!!
Andy, your demos are amazing. your playing is just so diverse & confident. i envy you! peace, love & all that from Sydney, Australia :)
oh my god.. best lenny cover on youtube
I completely forgot I was watching a pedal demo
I love this pedal. It has a delay as well ,not usually shown. The Plate setting is great for more subtle settings. It has changed how good a pedal has to be before I buy one when considering the 8 presets. Different than my TRRI reverb and in some ways more usable .
pushed is when someone pushed your amp and now its on the floor
Soooo happy you took out the My Morning Jacket riffs. Evil Urges is full of the best guitar riffs in the music scene today.

Led Zeppelin - 'Tea For One'
i want i want i want its like all kinds of reverbs, a reverse effect, a flange, an infinite feature, and a delay, and it all sounds amazing, plus, its stereo.
i love the reverse one he did, wow awesome
Demonstrating with Lenny from SRV? Not bad...
Andy, you demo with the coolest riffs... I mean like the stuff good guitarist actually want to play.... THANKS
you mean when he's playing "Lenny" by Stevie Ray Vaughan?
Reverse reverb would fit post-rock guitar so much!
Check out the Hardwire Supernatural. It is definitely not a one trick pony and it has the most accurate spring reverb mode around.
That is so badass that he lpayed Tea for One...you never hear that song...great job!!!
Just killer on Lenny---that sounded awesome!
Mount Eerie pedal.
Wow....that cut of Lenny was off the chain!!!!!!!
HOLY SHIT! LENNY SOUNDED PERFECT IN TONE! THAT WAS INCREDIBLE PLAYING! So nice. So freaking nice. Well fucking done. I want this pedal, it will be mine.
My Morning Jacket cover on this thing=Deliciousness.
Evil Urges!!! I love My Morning Jacket! nice review by the way! I'm ordering POG2 and Freeze from you guys! more power!
Lenny sounds amazing, Andy's demos beat all the covers i've seen
according to kevin shields, that's the secret of his my bloody valentine sound
Riviera Paradise ~ well done man ...
love the plate mode.
mine is going to arrive next week! simply can't wait!!!! *drool* this will give me some FEVERB!!!!!! you heard me! FEVERB! LOL! Nice demo as always Andy & PGS! :)
When Andy played SRV's Lenny, it gave me the chills.
Andy just rocks!
@redroveredgestapo i've played through this and the re 20 and ended up buying the re 20. It is my favorite pedal on my board, really useful with 11 settings and reverb
REVERSE WOULD SOUND INSANE ON "IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH REED
And Since I've Been Loving You!!! Tremendous!
Andy's favorite reverb pedal is the Hardwire Supernatural Verb because he helped design it and there second shipment is sold out. Hey, do you guys do pre-pre-orders XP
A little Evil Urges at the start, there.
So technically you could use the infinite-button as a rudimentary EH-Freeze?
you can also get a good vibrato going on the flerb with the tone knob down.... gets more of that swirly chorus as reverb is doing the job of the delay found in chorus pedals...
wow, thats a sweet sweet pedal.
@jakeyboy2929, it's one preset per mode. This is no effect module with programmed stuff. But it sounds great, especially if you consider the price.
i got this pedal it is crazy i luv it
2:28 ! Tea for one !
excellent quality tone, good name, and imo it rivals some of the big name lexicon units.
SO EXPENSIVE but that Lenny tone...
Sweet Lenny cover Andy! Sounds remarkably similar to the original.
Evil Urges!! Like it.
Tea for one. Beautiful
My Morning Jacket Evil Urges :3
Wow great pedal
my morning jacket...nice
Lenny version is GREAT, congrats Andy!
If you listen closely, at 3:09 you can hear Andy shout "Woo!"
wow I need a reverb, this might be the one!
@GarrettWeeks the Line 6 DL4 has what you want, auto volume delay. probably a handful of others that do it as well.
EVIL URGES SO COOL AHH MMJ YES PGS YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME
Oopps. That's Tea For One----still what an amazing sound!
Lenny ! Love that song. It sounds amazing with my strat and the Spring chicken. Gotta try with this one ;o)
Thanks a lot for this review and Led Zeppelin's "Tea for One"!
Amazing! Does it work with an acoustic guitar too?
And what about the whole stereo thing? Where is it?
Andy, great take on Tea For one. You should record the whole song.
but what do i get this or hall of fame?:(
reverse is really cool
SICK TONE ON LENNY! :D
@ItsA6StringThing - We didn't put this in the effects loop for this video, we went straight in the front. We don't need no stinking effects loop : )
-PGS Crew
@glassslide i used to think since i've been loving you and tea for one sounded alike too, but the tempo and the slow blues of them are the only things that makes them sound alike to me now. i love the presence album. definitely underrated. the only album that was bass/guitar/drums/vocals (and harmonica if you want to add that because i've always thought plant was one of the best rock-harmonica players out there.)
Sold, infinite possibilities with INFINITE
Agreed man, the reverse is incredible, kinda getting Hendrixy. Sweeeeet.
I want that infinite so bad. this is perfect for shoegaze
cool pedal. I like!
That pedal is incredibly sick and so is your guitar playing. Kudos.
What was the last tune you played? I have checked out nearly all of your demos and I love what you do. You are a great guitarist, keep up the good work!
@GarrettWeeks
for the volume rolling on and off i think you're after a tremolo pedal.
@kingcroak dude i am with you on the shirts
as soon as i heard those first notes from SRV's "lenny" i knew...that shit is mine.
YEAH. My Morning Jacket!
I want this.....all because of INFINITE!!!!!!
@kantefier One of Zep's most underrated!
Next Pedal,,,I want to buy...need to sell of some of my stuff
andy is the resurrection of stevie ray vaughan.
Holy shit! I just found this thing shopping for some new equipment when I get my "fuck you money" so far this thing will be the best investment to make!!!
nice reverse
Reverse is sick. :D
@TheZeinther i've seen videos where a guy uses the Boss DD-7 on the reverse setting and with the mix completly wet. it sounds pretty close to that.
I have a question...How does it sound if I connect the pedal to an external sound card? (direct recording) The sound keeps the quality? Very good review and awesome pedal like all the products of electro harmonix.
Greetings from Argentina
Anyway we can get a boss deluxe reverb and cathedral smackdown??
andy, you used so much reverb pedals in your demos. what's your personal favourite?? tell me please or i'm gonna die
Cheers
@44eelz analog reverb is spring...
What Overdrive is Andy using between the guitar and amp? Love the Cathedral, but want to know what the drive is too!
It's "Tea for One" by Led Zeppelin from the album Prescence.
really don't see any point for a reverb pedal especial if you have a chorus or delay pedal. if anything i just use the reverb on the amp.
what's the song at the end of the vid? anyway great pedal, I've been thinking of getting a reverb that would give me more versatility than just amp reverb no matter how good it can be... and this looks like a very versatile one with many different sounds..
