Even if my experience with KOF XV was only from the open beta before release, I had a lot of fun with it. I felt like the game got me to want to play and understand it more then me playing it on a casual level from previous KOF games excluding 12 and 14. I've been putting in a bit of work and I'm loving KOFXV a whole lot, it's unique and was hard to wrap my head around early on but with dedication I've gotten used to it and find it very enjoyable! As someone who didn't play any of the classic KOF titles it's really fun and I'm glad it's my first!
After playing a lot of different fighters over the years and really getting into the genre, getting into KOF XV has been a refreshing change of pace for me, as it takes me back to when I really started to get into fighting games with old SNK fighters like Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 and Garou: MOTW! Can't wait for when more fighters join the roster and to really delve deeper into this game!
KoF 15 is actually the first SNK game I've really played and gotten into. It took me a little while, but I feel like I'm getting the hang of the game. I'm starting to (semi-reliably) pull off bigger and better combos, although I'm not really a fan of how the d-pad has a hard time reading the inputs for Super Specials and Climax moves. But overall, it's a really fun game, and it's making me want to try out other SNK games.
This is my first KOF, but honestly I feel like I got the hang of it pretty quickly. It's very possible that I actually don't understand it at all, but I just think that I've already got the hang of it, but I think I understand it pretty well.
I've been playing for 36 hours as of now. It's my second fighting game after GGST (and a bit of MK11). I'm still not super used to all the mechanics and am struggling a bit with all the options as well as combo timers, but I'm definetly improving every hour of playing it, which is very satisfying
Glad to see more KoF on here, having a lot of fun playing my main go to team (King, Blue Mary and Kyo) whilst also dabbling with some of the returning characters (Yashiro, Chizuru, Krohnen etc.).
I feel great about kof15. Win or lose, you get the feeling of "playing" during the match. So you are loosing your first round and a comeback is borderline impossible? No problem, build some meter and kill the timer so your opponent doest recover much life, your next character will have an extra bar and this will help beat your opponents character. You won? Dont sleep, your opponent will have an extra bar that could even out stuff. ETC ETC. No matter the end result of the match, I feel like I was playing even when I get rusheddown by a waaay way better player than me. Plus it feels great, kof15 really is fun to play. Very addictive. Honestly I havent had this much fun in a fighting game since so long.
The KOF 15 announcer reminds me of Duck King and Present Mic from My Hero Academia! All three announcers always hype up their respective tournaments, and they are awesome and charismatic with the audience. 😊🎙👊🏾👊🏾
It took me a couple of days to get the basics down and I absolutsly agree, it's not hard but different. Day 1 felt so alien to me but I promise anyone who sticks around for a little longer will love KOF, the game's fantastic and I never imagined that I would want to play all characters in a single game (except Chris, he's annoying).
I like KOF 15 I’ve been playing for about a week now and I really love how fast paced and fluid the game is. It was hard getting used to cuz of the half circle motions but once I got the motion buffers down I started landing more combos
Actual Best Announcer: "They're staring eachother down..." "Taken down on the word go!" "And there goes the battle!" "Rise and surf!" "What's the matter trainer?" "The Pokemon are entirely different types."
I'm relatively new to kof, only and my first exposure to the series was cvs2 but I'm liking kof 15 so far. Its definitely one of the more harder fighting games to learn and not gonna lie I am struggling with the basics, quick timing and getting the inputs down. Seeing how fun this game is, kept me motivated to try harder and be more patient with practice
Every time I see Max playing KOF 15, it makes me wanna load it up on Steam and play 😂 a lot of the roster is very fun to play as well, which is a first for me in any fighting game. SNK knew what they were doing with the initial roster selection
As a returning player absent since the days of 98/cvs2 I absolutely love the game feel. I definitely feel like I benefit from the legacy skill, but there's enough new mechanics that I feel both challenged and excited to learn. I haven't put this much time into learning a fighting game since back in the arcade days.
Recently got the game, being my first KoF, and was doing Terry's missions. It took a while to complete because I was slow with the move inputs but I kept practicing and eventually completed it which was very satisfying.
You should try Robert, heard he's more responsive than his early versions and quick abilities to connect combos, if Max ends switching Krohnen eventually.
I have always had a hard time getting characters I vibe with in kof that are not protagonists because for some reason I always had a stigma to never play the main character because they are too easy but I realized playing KOF15 that sometimes the protags are actually pretty cool and complex, especially kyo with his rekka mix and odd combo routes.
All things considered, my experience in fighting games is quite small. Even so, the King of Fighters series played a big part in my introduction to fighting games. XV being here and looking as good as it does makes me really happy, especially since I'm able to actually play with people now. I have a ways to go if I want to be decent at the game, but it feels like I'm reuniting with an old friend.
After grinding 50 hours into this game and completing every achivo in Steam - I can say for sure - this is definetely a really cool and fun game. Hard as hell sure...I wish games like Guilty Gear and BlazBlue didn't spoiled me with its crazy mechanix because games like MK, SF and now KOF feels really ALIEN for me. On the other hand - If I would play KOF from my childhood - I probably could not enjoy anime fighters that much. Also yes, I remember Max's Videos about KOF14 - Mary does say that a lot.
Mary says what a lot? I have been practicing this game and when I went back to strive for a bit, I kept on trying to short hop and roll on the first round, lol
KOF15 Has been Fun for me to learn. Through a combination of Both the Games overall Feel and appreciation With Player understanding. It makes me happy as a Fan that not only am I able to enjoy the Hell outta this game, but new players are Having a Blast. This is what KOF and FG's in general are all about and you Max are a part of this engagment and discovery. Many thanks From this Little KIWI in New Zealand to you dood.
I have been playing kof since the fatal fury days and I always enjoyed playing the series but never really was of fan of the 3d kof games until this version came out and this is the greatest version to come out so far and if your a fighting game fan you must check it out. I prefer this game over street fighter 5 just because it visually looks better and the combos are way better looking as well. Max is right on the dot with this title and you won't be sorry by trying it.
Ciao max. Oggi sono esattamente 10 anni che ti seguo. Sono italiano e guardando i tuoi video ho imparato meglio, sia a giocare ai fighting game sia l'inglese. Ti ringrazio di tutto e della compagnia🙏 thank you so much.
Since my only prior experience with this series was with the KOF XV 2nd beta, KOF XV is very different compared to other fighting games I play. And due to me having limited time to play, I only have around ten hours(more or less) with this game. Even so, I am learning something new everyday. Again, its evolution to me is different compared to games like Blazblue or Guilty Gear, but it's an interesting experience nonetheless.
There's a lot of really good feelings about KoF XV and I'm enjoying it way more than XIV, that's for sure. I will say there's still some growing pains for those that wholly skipped over XIV, so it's a little jarring for some newcomers, and understandably so. Though, I will say that it's taken me way less time to understand the 'flow' of the game and am happy online stuff hasn't caught me nearly as badly as it did in XIV. Can't wait for Rock this month! Wish Ash and Beni were a little better though...
I've never really played a KoF game, but watching Max have fun with Clark made me check out KoF '98. Awesome game, looking forward to learning how to combo into specials / CA. Also - this announcer funny af.
I've been playing KoF XV for the past week, debating on sticking with an Xbox controller or an arcade style fight pad but getting combos on either is difficult for me. Been through the tutorials and some of the challenge trials over and over and can't get a grip on this game. BUT I love it to death.
I start to play KoF back when I was a kid in the arcades I play 94 and 95 maining kyo and Ryo teams in 95 I mean athena ralf and kyo (athena was at least for me a super counter to omega rugal) in 96 was leona robert and mr big, in 97 was yamasaki and yashiro Orochi and a bunch of others, in 98 pretty much everyone because my and friend use to play all roulette most of time, but love to play normal rugal, takuma and yamasaki, in 99 I kinda quit because life I guess, so yeah a lot memories of this game
Max, you totally need to have a chat with Max Powers (the announcer voice). That would be a fun discussion Love XV. Thankful to have my copy since launch day
My team has been yashiro - ralf - terry and I really have had fun on this game and I'm new to kof execution on some moves are tricky but very rewarding the most fun thing in kof is those big boy damage combos with terry and ralf
Coming into KOF as a whole was shortly after Terry got in Smash which led me to play some of the older game of KoF and one in specific got my attention and that was KoF 13. I didn't play 14 to much I bought when it was on sale but in all honesty, I was having way more fun with 13 than 14. Regarding 15 though it's been pretty fun, I wasn't too good at 13 but KOF was just different experience say coming from game like FighterZ or GGStrive or Blazblue but even if I "suck" I still have fun as with grow and getting better progressing. I may get washed but if durring my match "I hit a small combo that I practice" or "Hit a confirm off lights (which I think is also a think I still need to work on and get down at)" but Yeah KOF is a different experience but it's pretty fun at the end just like any fighting game.
Back then I played kof with my dad, who was a kid playing kof'94 back in México he was actually unstoppable in his school, we actually had fun but after some years since kof'06 we got Kof XV and it was getting used to it after some years not playing it but after 5 days we had more fun than we've used to, if your new to this game I highly recommend it, it's challenging at first but fun later on I was 3 when I got kof'06 Now I'm 17 when I got KofXV
I haven't played KOF XV at all, but I am debating it. My experience with KOF has always been limited, I played Maximum Impact when I was way younger and I think one or two of the 90's games, but that's pretty much it. Not sure if I'd do well tbh, I've only really managed to pop off in very few fighting games throughout my life regardless of how long I spent with them. Some games just never click for whatever reason
In a versus match with a human opponent, how much of the fight is reaction time versus planning and strategy? I haven't played fighting games in a while but I always loved trying to get better and when it came to fighting humans I'd often get rushed down...
i grew up with kof in hk. now i am in uk i followed u and am a sf4 and sf5 player havent played kof in ages. iori and ralf was my fav back in the days.
More fighting games should have an announcer like this for fun. Personally, would love for a "thuggery" mode where the announcer gets hype with the combo count by going "oh!" after each hit past 5 or something.
Honestly have not been a KOF fan until Max’s video and the fact that he is playing Ralf and Terry are awesome to me because they have always been favorites for me. Hope you find that 3rd character on the team and hope you are enjoying the game
got this game just yesterday, as I have had no free time this semester lol, and it's really what I wanted it to be: kof xiv that looks good. I'm enjoying learning Elisabeth, Isla, as well as sticking to my go to Kyo, Athena, Benimaru, and can't wait for the DLC ofc
some nice matches also freaking hilarious hearing the announcer make fun of you and as a man who played lots of ddr in the arcades I forgot the announcer did that as well I must have repressed the memories also best announcer in fighting games is the street fighter alpha 3 announcer that dude is hype
KOF is an easy game when you spend a couple days in training mode, and you buy the right controller. Guys don’t get discouraged, we need this online to last a long time
@@BottleWaterson oh yeah I meant for the d pad, for anyone who plays on pad like me. Unlike mortal kombat since this game has circle motions, the d pad needs be able to easily register diagonal inputs. Two good options are a Fight Commander and surprisingly the Xbox series X controller
I love this game but it's the same ol same old when it comes to online play. I lose get a rematch right away then I win I don't get a rematch. I've been playing fighting games for 3 decades and now that I'm older I don't have it in me to be so competitive I genuinely have fun just playing and having fun but tbh the community will never change. If I win I'm cheap and mind you I never accuse a player of being cheap any tactic is fine by me I spend my time learning what I did wrong rather then making excuses for myself. Sorry if this rant is long but it really does bother and discourages online play for me and it's a shame because the game itself I have no complaints good online, tight controls, awesome characters, great for all skill levels but dam people take it too seriously trust I never want to lose when I'm bested I'm bested and I can live with that but I run into so many people that can't hold a L for God knows what reason.
@@Tp-ce7di I appreciate the rant bro but like you said, that’s the player problem and not the games problem. There’s always gonna be people that want to solely focus on ranking up instead of having fun but u gotta forget about that. I come from NRS so I know about that kind of community lol but in all honesty, every game suffers it. Just focus on getting better and the game becomes less toxic
@@jojox1733 I like your enthusiasm friend I wish I could agree as with my personal experiences I find the higher the rank the more toxic the people become because if dudes didn't want to lose before there really not trying to lose now. I'm always going to play my best and try to learn new thing's while enjoying the experience but I'm aware that side of gaming will never change as my life goes on I can't be bothered with those types. I'm trying to ride it out because this game is so amazing but it's sad I can't enjoy like I used too. In all honesty I endorse this game to the fullest it's refreshing to get such a great fighter these day's.... thanks for the encouragement brother I wish you the best hand out those ggs 👍.
Currently hard stuck in Rank 17. Easily win the Promotion grom 15 to 17, but once there, I meet Rank 20+ guys with CRAAAAZY light confirms and unreactable short hop setups that just demote me back to 15, and the vicious cycle begins again 😭
Love watching your Terry Max, he’s a perfect character for you. All HYPE! Also, I have the physical PS5 copy of KOFXV, do I also have access to the PS4 version or do I need to exchange my disk? Thanks Dood!
My first Kof15 game, I like how you feel like your playing basic, the game does well easing you in. The auto combos are useful for friends who aren't good at this game. They like the fact they feel like a bad ass. They like the feel of the game to the point they want to buy and actually learn to do advance combos even if they are aren't good at fighting games. They see the potential from the learning curve.
Tbh I prefer character to my announcers verses “Round one, Fight!” However in the latter’s defense there has been some iconic voices behind round calls, like shao khan’s VA who also voiced various pinball machines the better part of the 80’s ~ 90’s when he wasn’t shao
Well i dont play it because buying it will take 25% of my month income but i stick with 2002 vanilla and um until i can afford it, but im exited to get into the game in the future
You know every single time that I watch Max playing against some Mary I can't help but remember that time when he teach us how to coach properly "what are you doing d*ckhead!". Fun times. My favorite part of this KOF it has to be all the fanservice (interactions between characters, secret endings, the return from some beloved characters, that amazing clip from Masami Obari etc...). My least fav part is the super boring, lazy and trashy story. I really hope they can improve it on a future dlc (even knowing ain't plans for that).
I haven't played the game, but I am eager to play the game if i ever get the chance because i've wanted to get into fighting games but find street fighter 5 frustrating, but trying to learn older games on fightcade a little too intimidating and would like to find something that fits a nice balance between having a low barrier to entry while still having a nice skill curve since i feel like SF5 doesn't really provide a fun experience because of it being too focused on playing full agro and doesn't allow you to play more defensively if that's your playstyle
I think my problem with the game so far is the weird reliance on the double/triple crouch hits. That just feels so awkward and off-putting to me, as the timing on them feels really weird and picky. Throws me off so hard....
I've been playing kof since 1994 and i've never used Crouch hits to Start my combos just because thats not My style of gameplay, also You don't need to
Just downloaded the ps4 version on my ps5 and your right man the inputs are much faster and more accurate when you do them in combos it’s crazy. At this point ima just sub lol
KOF XV is a lot of fun, but the input system is very frustrating. I can understand having the world's longest motion inputs so that supers are nearly exclusively used when canceled from specials that share the same motions, but even with the button hold trick, the cancel windows for moves seem unnecessarily small. As a result, I'm having a hard time turning any of my advantages in neutral into real damage.
I’ve had almost $1,000 worth of stuff under my bed because of this game for a little over a week because I’m not sure if I’m ready to get angry again by starting a new fighter. My last time was when Tekken 7 first released. I spent a couple of days practicing offline, and then got destroyed when I went online, and it took me less than 10 matches to realize I didn’t want to go down that road again (putting in the time for a new fighter). But for whatever reason I finally bought an Xbox Series X since KOF XV isn’t on Xbox One. I bought the Omega Edition of KOF XV, and a new stick…. but I’m really thinking hard about whether or not I want to invest the time, because I’m highly competitive in whatever I do, so just by nature I can’t play fighters casually. It shouldn’t be such a complicated issue but sadly enough it is for me. 🤷🏻
Capcom vs SNK: Says exciting lines to hype up the players

Speaking of game announcers, wasn't there a game where when you lose the game goes GAME OVER YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Sega rally, but less taunty more arcade like tbh
"Player 1 is gonna need a miracle!"
*Me, a Clark/Ralf player*:
"Nah, I just need one good opening."
I do think Present Mic have the same hype level, almost (not the voice) as this one. Fit well like he did back in sport festival.
Why? Because he slaps you right in the chest?
Chris is the number 1!
I like KOF 15 I’ve been playing for about a week now and I really love how fast paced and fluid the game is. It was hard getting used to cuz of the half circle motions but once I got the motion buffers down I started landing more combos
Actual Best Announcer:
"They're staring eachother down..."
"Taken down on the word go!"
"And there goes the battle!"
"Rise and surf!"
"What's the matter trainer?"
"The Pokemon are entirely different types."
Amen brother. Poke stadium announcer was the Best hype man! Playing against our friend and hearing the announcer going insane was great
I'm relatively new to kof, only and my first exposure to the series was cvs2 but I'm liking kof 15 so far.
That would be a fun discussion
Love XV.
Back then I played kof with my dad, who was a kid playing kof'94 back in México he was actually unstoppable in his school, we actually had fun but after some years since kof'06 we got Kof XV and it was getting used to it after some years not playing it but after 5 days we had more fun than we've used to, if your new to this game I highly recommend it, it's challenging at first but fun later on
I was 3 when I got kof'06
Now I'm 17 when I got KofXV
Announcer be the type of dude to run on the loser and tell them that they, did in fact, got knocked the fuck out
Finally some love to this announcer!!!
I've got to say this game is really something
Once they put back the Survival/Endless mode back in, then i'll like it more
In a versus match with a human opponent, how much of the fight is reaction time versus planning and strategy? I haven't played fighting games in a while but I always loved trying to get better and when it came to fighting humans I'd often get rushed down...
Imagine the announcer said your name. Wow, Max is kinda trash. He's gonna need a miracle. He barely won that.
..
Shut up game! XD
i grew up with kof in hk. now i am in uk i followed u and am a sf4 and sf5 player havent played kof in ages. iori and ralf was my fav back in the days.
"Oh man, player one really sucks! What a scrub! Unistall the game, loser!"
Bob, stop projecting and read the line as written, please.
I really love this game I love understanding different characters in this game I love playing terry the most and I can’t wait for rock Howard come out
I'm not sure if it changes what he says, but I did see an option to change the announcer from 'exciting' to 'standard'.
got this game just yesterday, as I have had no free time this semester lol, and it's really what I wanted it to be: kof xiv that looks good. I'm enjoying learning Elisabeth, Isla, as well as sticking to my go to Kyo, Athena, Benimaru, and can't wait for the DLC ofc
The announcer trash talking between rounds is one of the highlights of this game
some nice matches also freaking hilarious hearing the announcer make fun of you and as a man who played lots of ddr in the arcades I forgot the announcer did that as well I must have repressed the memories also best announcer in fighting games is the street fighter alpha 3 announcer that dude is hype
KOF is an easy game when you spend a couple days in training mode, and you buy the right controller. Guys don’t get discouraged, we need this online to last a long time
dont even need the right controller since its 4 button
Imagine if they add Drive cancels to this game, regardless of how crazy the gameplay already is.
I think blue mary still says it, is just that max mode activation is rare now, so you do not hear it as often
When you guys think we gonna get Team Garou? At the end of the month?
They said March on the road map so more than likely towards the end 👍🏻
Currently hard stuck in Rank 17.
Easily win the Promotion grom 15 to 17, but once there, I meet Rank 20+ guys with CRAAAAZY light confirms and unreactable short hop setups that just demote me back to 15, and the vicious cycle begins again 😭
The Dance Dance Revolution reference warmed my heart :)
Yeah, max was right about give this game a couple of days to give it's proper time. And I finally found my team. Shun'ei, Heidern & Kyo
Tbh I prefer character to my announcers verses “Round one, Fight!” However in the latter’s defense there has been some iconic voices behind round calls, like shao khan’s VA who also voiced various pinball machines the better part of the 80’s ~ 90’s when he wasn’t shao
excellent HORSE STANCE from Ralph in his intro
Bro i hate the hops. So much pressure and hard to counter and anti air... but im NOT GOOD at doing them!
I remember the days in the arcades (we called "maquinitas" here in Ecuador) as a kid I only use spam supers with Khronen
Hola Diego, te sigo vigilando...tururu espero sigas en Ibarra...
I prefer the female announcer of KOF 98. The best KOF ever by the way.
Seeing Max getting triggered by the KoF Announcer is just funny.
I think my problem with the game so far is the weird reliance on the double/triple crouch hits. That just feels so awkward and off-putting to me, as the timing on them feels really weird and picky. Throws me off so hard....
I've been playing kof since 1994 and i've never used Crouch hits to Start my combos just because thats not My style of gameplay, also You don't need to
XV is great so far, love to see videos for it!
Just downloaded the ps4 version on my ps5 and your right man the inputs are much faster and more accurate when you do them in combos it’s crazy. At this point ima just sub lol
i do miss counter lv2 galatica phantom being a ToD
As Yipes would say, Ralf hits like a grown ass man
I love it when game's annoin announcer is a hype man.
Those who remember the old pokemon stadium games the announcer was the Best hype man ever!!!!
I practiced combos for 2 hours just to go online and get smoked 😂😂😂 but ill keep trying lol
I came into this game expecting it to be similar to Street Fighter. It feels completely different and I'm having a hard time adapting.
Max. What are your thoughts on KOF All-Star collab with SFV? Do you think this might be a sign of possibilities to come?
Did Max noticed King's dress got ripped?? Or is it just me??
I actually have a question, what's your favorite motion to do in a fighting game.
