  • This short video from Best4hedging.co.uk is your easy-to-follow guide to planting bare root hedging plants. At Best4hedging, we offer a huge selection of hedging species with a variety of different uses, and the majority of these are available in bare root form.
Bare root plants are only available in the dormant season, November-April, and this is the best time to plant. After deciding upon a site, you need to ensure the soil is both weed and frost free to avoid damage to the roots during planting. We also recommend using a root treatment such as RootGrow to encourage a strong root system, which will provide you with a healthy, thriving hedge.
Choosing plants in bare root form is an easy, cost effective way to establish a new hedge. To read more about the benefits of planting a bare root hedge, take a look at the Best4hedging Blog www.best4hedgi... or for further Planting Advice, visit our website www.best4hedgin....

Few things I noticed here... Roots looked planted very deep so always check for a neck line, secondly the bone meal shouldn't touch the roots as it will burn them. also that ground looked quite soggy so check your species!

What is the best thing to do with the bonemeal, they all recommend using it?

You never dip a Beech hedge in water, you rinse off the fungus which lives in symbiosis with the plant. It is much more likely to die ;)

I assume that is Rootgrow, it looks more like a paste than a water.
