I remember being in Cuba a few years ago and my family and I were in a restaurant and the Kardashians were there. Not one single person paid attention to them and they started to speak louder to get attention.

That's great! I was a billionaire I'd pay someone like that to live on some island for a year, and just follow them around with dummy cameras. The idea of someone having pointless "Island drama" in front of no one is hilarious to me

The desire to be famous is ultimately the fear of death. We want to be remembered long after we're gone, but most of us won't and that is terrifying.

Yes!!! Lack of attention during early years and fear of dying and being forgotten (aka "eternal lack of attention".)

@@MrSharky334 I'm in the therapy and working on it. It's definetly not easy but I think there's a light at the end of the tunnel. There are books about that problem to better understand what your dealing with, a Smart therapist and processing for at least months I guess. For me religion is a huge help but of course there are days when it chases me. Also meditation helps because after a few months you develop an ability to watch your feelings and not being dragged down.
Sorry for my english, doing my best ;)

But the thing is most of us don't want to be famous. Especially now. We see people being taken down and cancelled on the wild wild west of the web. I don't want to ever be in a situation where I am humiliated and crucified for some ancient indiscretions! Yikes, no thank you!

Dave Foley is one of my favorite guests. He's like the most normal person in the world. I wish Joe would have him on more often. I know he's not mainstream and there's probably a lot of pressure to have all of these famous people but I guess I'm just nostalgic for old Joe Rogan podcasts

For many, the urge to be famous is an urge to be loved socially, collectively, by many - confirming one's right to exist amongst the masses, having value while living in this world, and positively affirming the right to continue living because there is a place and confirmed, undisclosed love which exists.

    • @simonsays525

Exactly. It’s simply a desire to be loved.

    • @KenshinUshiroda

Fame is not love. People who desire fame are simply just the ones who have succumbed to the primitive desire to be an alpha, to climb the human hierarchy.

    • @Garrus1995
      @Garrus1995 5 років тому +14

Yeah. Sometimes I think the only reason people seek the love of the masses is because they themselves were denied love from people who should have given it to them. The problem with that is the crowds may be cheering you on one minute, but the second you slip up they start howling for blood. The love of the masses is fickle; it only goes skin-deep.

When I went to Disney World as a senior in high school for our school trip I saw Sean Kingston mic checking for a show he was gonna be putting on and I (some unknown 17 year old punk) started screaming at him SEAN YOU HAD ME SUICIDAL BRO YOU HAD ME SUICIDAAAAAAAL
He heard me and I know he did cuz his friends and the stage crew were all laughing and he was staring at me looking pissed off.
This is the shit that happens when you're famous. Some asshole 17 year old kid can be a dick to you in public for no reason. Just because your song blew up and he thinks you're corny.

I’m from the UK, and went to school during the 80s and 90s, and we don’t even pledge allegiance to the queen - the only time I ever did was in the military

As history goes, 95% (if not higher) today's famous is tomorrow's forgotten. How many 'famous people' - famous in their day, are unknown today? Fame is, indeed, fleeting.

Yes, CSI: Jersey was so terrible, that it never got made. That's how bad it was.

The desire to be fully express myself entirely without getting abused for it..... looking a certain way eventually gets boring...to me anyway. Work with Dricus Du plesis, Craig Jones. I don't think some people understand how not being to be yourself your entire life is. Because you look a certain way etc...she was herself for 1 min. She's my wife....like f**** off you know. We all have our own shit to deal with....we can work together. That's it. .... now you gotta avoid everyone because your whole life because if you someone always wants to harras you or abuse you just for being yourself
