Great tips! My favorite blending tool on Pastelmat paper is actually something called a "stencil brush" - a round brush with very hard bristles, the bristles are tight together and cut flat on top. It's like a real life blurring tool, everything just comes together nicely. It also brushes away a lot of excessive dust from the drawing but it still doesn't feel like erasing. It just creates a smooth transition between the colors.

Oh this was a great blending video Zara! I am a Pastel newbie and struggle with blending. Now I know that I can blend with the pencils themselves if I don´t use too much pressure. And the paper stump is also a good tool which I will try out! Thank you!

Just happened upon your video. Excellent. I haven't used pastels since my junior year in high school. I graduated in 1967 if that relates how old I am. I really appreciate this video. New techniques which gives me new ideas and perspectives. Thanks so much for sharing. This video is wonderful.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I'm very good at wrecking the sofft tools....I think I'm going to be ordering some make up applicators 🙂

No problem =). I love the make up applicators. I dont feel so bad about throwing them away when they're damaged given how cheap they are.

Hi Zara, have you experimented with a stylus pen for monitors, i have tried one that is about 5mm wide , it was only a cheap one , £2 i think, i find it effective for my standard of work, would be interesting to see what someone as excellent as you thinks about it, great content by the way, thanks.

Thank you so much 🥰. I didnt have a stylus but I do want to try one. I'll get it ordered and then make another little video showing how it works. I was impressed with the cotton buds and how they blended though.

    39:34 Bonjour 😊
    Merci ❤❤
