You’re a cool person who has a great lady in his life. I’m the former owner of a 57 hardtop. Your restoration really brought back the memory’s. I’m 75years old Andi had a red 57 hardtop and I have a story to tell. I was at the outdoor movies with my 15 year old girlfriend. I was16 and had my drivers license for 3weeks. On Nov23 1964 I took my honey to the outdoor movies. I was a virgin and so was Nancy. We both lost our virginity and conceived our first kid ALL in one shot. What a night…gotta love 57 hardtops🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
@@DDSpeedShop Dan you’re a great mechanic and a problem solver, but isn’t there anyone in your family that wants to learn what you know. Just a thought to take some strain off of you. Frank from Pennsylvania
Love the Nova. My first car was a 70. I kick myself every time I see 1 for letting it go but I’ll get another 1 sooner or later. 👍🏼 on the small block & 4 speed. Big blocks are cool if they’re screamers but the small block will do everything you want & more. Keep up the great work
You're spot on with the plan Dan! I tossed out all of my old clothes that didn't comfortably fit and cars are pretty much the same. If they don't fit, you won't enjoy it. The killer driveline needs to go in the nice car that you've made history with. Great plan!
Dan Hello Friend I'm glad that your showing the Chevrolet Nova SS Car some love !! And I'm glad that you are keeping it !!! Because i used to have a 1970 Chevrolet Nova as well, and i wish i still had it 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪💪💪
It’s good to see a smile on your face while you’re driving! Definitely use the engine from the Camaro, but sell the transmission and get a 5-Speed like your SO MADD Nomad. Then you’ll have exactly the transmission you love in your Nova!! Forget the purists and the haters!! It’s your baby, you deserve to build it the way you want it!!
I had a 396 69 Camaro when I graduated in 81. It fit me and the future wife very well. I got the car bug back again in 2008 and built a couple 1920's cars. One is still parked in the shed after I built the 72 Cutlass. I bought the straight car body from a high school kid with no interest in it. Crate 350 with 700R4 cruises 75 at 2100 rpms. I have 5 level fusion in my low back, so driving a car that feels like a couch fits this 60 year old man perfectly.
I think you'll want a 5 speed in that little gem' just to complete the street-strip/hi way cruiser we all wanted back in the day before there was such a thing. My first car was a '65 Impala SS 327/4spd. Ps. Dan... It was Butternut Yellow !
1972... I had friends (twins) each with Nova SS's. Not sure the year... 1969 if I recall correctly. Both 350's, both 4-speeds. So much fun. I am looking forward to this content... Memories.
I think you’re being smart about it. I always wanted one of those Camaros. They do look cooler. I also never have been much of a nova fan. However you are changing my mind. The nova makes huge sense
I have a 72ss 4speed big block and love it. I am excited about this. Built everything myself too.subframe connecters and shock relocation kit with caltracs. Piece by piece. Glad your keeping a real hotrod
One of my all time favorite cars ever made, there would be no way that I could ever sell it, that car is very rare around where I live unless people have them stored up, great move on not selling it! It would have been a big regret👍
As a former 67 Camaro and a nova owner I get it, I loved both but the nova did have more room for the bigger guys. I think that you do what you want and everyone will understand. Great video.
Love the idea of making the Nova extra nice! I want to encourage you to go ahead and put the 5 speed in it like the Nomad! Make it your go to car for travel and fun! You got less cars, so make the ones you keep everything you want them to be.
Had to laugh when Dan grabbed the dash and said it has a rattle that he needs to fix. This is actually the only car he owns the sound like the scrap guy going down the road 😂
All the cool guys drove Nova SS's with 396 4 spd.when I was in HS. While I had to make do with my '63 Impala 283 with a 3 spd on the floor. At least I had a Hurst shifter. LOL
Badass! It's meant to be lol! Yrs ago I bought my 1st nova and around that time your nova was sorta on the channel. Unfortunately sold it, but now I've acquired another and Ole Dan here brings his back out! On top my newly acquired is also a 71. NOW WE JUST NEED SOME DD SPEED SHOP MERCH!!!
Dont remove the roll bar. I have had around 10 Nova over the years. It make the car so much more solid. Just put a kicked back cross bar so you fit. You will be happy you did:))
Dan I’m riding with you all the way 😊 you’re my favorite UA-cam Hack 😊 I would love to see you completely restore the Nova I wouldn’t feel bad putting the best of the best on that Chevy Nova.
Love the show and like the Nova. My love of the show way outweighs my personal preference in cars. Bottom line you prefer keeping the Nova for great reasons. Fits you better and Mur bought for you. No Brainer your doing exactly what you need to do. One request. If possible, before you dismantle the drive line on the Camaro if its far enough together, take us Camaro fans along on a little drive like you did with the Nova. It would be fun
darn Dan now I'm jealous and torn which of your toys I like the most....Nova, Camaro, Cobra....those 50's.......Happy for you brother, and a little jealous....lol
Glad to hear the Nova is a keeper. I honestly have always preferred the Nova over the camaro. I think a driving restoration is a great idea. To me I am more motivated by a running, driving car rather than one that isnt. - Jamie
Had a family member that owned a 69 impala. With a Capri roof two door hard top . It had lots of options and was a 402 big block . Auto SS it was a metallic dark tan with a split bench front seat. The don't see many 69 70 71 big impala today.
Keep doing what you are doing. Love the Nova. If you are looking to move up a decade, nothing wrong with a 65 Malibu or 64 442. Ok, 65 Galaxy is ok too.
Glad you’re keeping the Nova. I’m 6’7 and had to make brackets to put the bucket seats as low as possible in my 71 chevelle. Headroom is a problem in these old cars for sure.
Nice ,71 Nova SS BIG Block four on the floor trip around town. Thanks that's a keeper...like your plan to remodel . Should finish Camaro and sell after all that time you spent with us watching😊,move then to Nova project .
Yes Keep the Nova!! Work on it on weekends like everyone else does and drive during the week. If you road trip it put a Gear-Bender in it. My 73 is primered I usually part it in the back parking at our weekly car shows and thiers always a few people around it checking it out

At least the Nova has a rad cap so basically its mint
For now....
I like the idea of driving it while you fix it up. That's how most of us have to do it.
It’s so nice to see Dan have fun instead working hard all the time.
It's a nice break haha
@@DDSpeedShop Dan you’re a great mechanic and a problem solver, but isn’t there anyone in your family that wants to learn what you know. Just a thought to take some strain off of you. Frank from Pennsylvania
I’m a Nova guy and I’m glad you are going to keep it! You can make this car an awesome Driver
Keep the Nova 🤘🤘💯💯 I have a 69 and there a perfect little Hot Rod cruiser.. Love how u recognize too … Nothing wrong with keeping a couple.
I'm Glad you are keeping the Nova I really like that car.
As a big block 4 speed Nova owner myself, this is the car that got me into this channel. Glad to it's staying.
Love the Nova. My first car was a 70. I kick myself every time I see 1 for letting it go but I’ll get another 1 sooner or later. 👍🏼 on the small block & 4 speed. Big blocks are cool if they’re screamers but the small block will do everything you want & more. Keep up the great work
Danni is always super cute. I ran a 71 Nova as a stock car. Dan, if you keep growing, I would love to see you in a 67 Impala fastback.
Wow deja vu big block headers hitting suspension, glad to see your keeping the Nova.
You're spot on with the plan Dan! I tossed out all of my old clothes that didn't comfortably fit and cars are pretty much the same. If they don't fit, you won't enjoy it. The killer driveline needs to go in the nice car that you've made history with. Great plan!
Couldn't agree more
That color look classy with a black vinyl top. Goes well on a Chevelle too.
Dan give that beauty the true restoration it deserves
He's already said many times he hates doing bodywork. Hopefully he farms out a proper body and paint job. 👌
A true SS nova give it the love it deserves..
Dan Hello Friend I'm glad that your showing the Chevrolet Nova SS Car some love !! And I'm glad that you are keeping it !!! Because i used to have a 1970 Chevrolet Nova as well, and i wish i still had it 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪💪💪
Good morning from Cape Cod 🦈 whatever your hearts set on you do it Dan ✌️🇺🇲
Love the Nova! My dad had a 69 with factory 3 speed with 327. Miss that one.
I say, do what makes u happy!! Thank you for the entertainment.
Hey Dan&Dannie
Looking forward to the remodeling of the Nova.
As always, take care of Yourselves 😊
Yes put the back seats back in with out the roll bar Dan the man I love that nova reminds me of my 69 nova ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome Car Dan , I've had 5 Novas from 1968,69 70 72 1973, all good Cars
For sure pick the Nova it has history with you make it look nice
It's a good idea to redo the Chevy Nova. It will be awesome Hot rod indeed. Keep up the great work. Dan.
I can hardly wait to see that ProBuilt small block and that new 5-speed in the Nova. That's going to be good 👍
If I'm not mistaking your buddy Lucky Jack Racing,Jackson just won a car show with that $1 Biscayne!
Boy I would keep the nova 2 and the ss nova, his and hers!
Definitely a KEEPER Dan I think you should teach Dani how to drive stick on it while it’s messed up
I'm looking forward to the Nova build! I'm glad you're keeping it. You can't beat sentimental.

Someone asked yesterday to name five of the best internet cars. One of them happen to be DD speed shop 71 nova SS. Man, i love this car.
Funny you mentioned the ol’ school DDSS sticker logo. I like that and think you should incorporate that logo on a shirt.
When he's driving around canada it dawns on me that that looks like so many towns I've lived in across the midwest.
Wish i had the money for that camaro. Looking forward to the videos on the nova
I think you'll want a 5 speed in that little gem' just to complete the street-strip/hi way cruiser we all wanted back in the day before there was such a thing. My first car was a '65 Impala SS 327/4spd. Ps. Dan... It was Butternut Yellow !
Even with selling a few you still have a great toy box!
You are Doing the Right thing Dan
Dan do what makes you happy! I do like the Camaro but I love the Nova SS.
Good call on keeping the Nova!!
Anybody who knows your station remembers the Nova. Always a great driver and a very cool car
Good thing you keeped the wing prefect car for it
1972... I had friends (twins) each with Nova SS's. Not sure the year... 1969 if I recall correctly. Both 350's, both 4-speeds. So much fun. I am looking forward to this content... Memories.
Paint and Drive !!!..Going to be a Bad Ass Hot Rod !!
Love the idea that new motor and the power the nova will be awesome
I think you’re being smart about it. I always wanted one of those Camaros. They do look cooler. I also never have been much of a nova fan. However you are changing my mind. The nova makes huge sense
Nice nova Dan yes that's a keeper
Nova for the win!
I have a 72ss 4speed big block and love it. I am excited about this. Built everything myself too.subframe connecters and shock relocation kit with caltracs. Piece by piece. Glad your keeping a real hotrod
I miss my 71 nova...great idea for the drivetrain
One of my all time favorite cars ever made, there would be no way that I could ever sell it, that car is very rare around where I live unless people have them stored up, great move on not selling it! It would have been a big regret👍
Thanks for the video. In 1976 I had a 70 Nova, 350 4 speed for 2 weeks. It was stolen and I never saw it again. That's when I lived in Milwaukee.
As a former 67 Camaro and a nova owner I get it, I loved both but the nova did have more room for the bigger guys. I think that you do what you want and everyone will understand. Great video.
Your plan is an excellent plan.
SS Nova is getting to be a rare car. Nice lines with a rowdy small block with a 4-slinger sounds like a lot of fun. Good choice
Love the idea of making the Nova extra nice! I want to encourage you to go ahead and put the 5 speed in it like the Nomad! Make it your go to car for travel and fun! You got less cars, so make the ones you keep everything you want them to be.
This the most excited I’ve been for any of the builds! can’t wait to see how it turn out
I love the Nova over the Camaro. Paint the top gray (or black if you insist) instead of a vinyl top. Same look and better overall.
Had to laugh when Dan grabbed the dash and said it has a rattle that he needs to fix. This is actually the only car he owns the sound like the scrap guy going down the road 😂
Ive been here since tge first 57 conversion. You've done quite a bit to this car on the channel. Keep what makes you happy dan, their your cars.
Those Nova's were the most bad ass cars chevy ever made

That nova is sweet you need to do it justice and send it to the upholstery shop for a headliner
This is going to be one really sweet ride Dan! I'm very excited!
POWERTOUR 2024 car!!! Can't wait to see the content on this one
Thanks for sharing this video ,nova with Camaro drivetrain is the way to go

Nova are so great!
True SS car is worth the work. Right call in my opinion. Yellow and black great colors on those cars.😎
Wise choice to keep this one!
The '67 should bring pretty good money
I'm 6'5 300#, these lil guys don't understand what it's like not to fit in your car comfortably. The Nova is going to be amazing!
I'm only '6 175# and I totally understand. I have a small back issue. And if it's not comfortable I'm done . It definitely take the fun out of it. 👍🏻.
I'm 68, 5'10 167lbs, I can still get under dashboards, under cars, I work in a restoration shop, cars from 1924, to75
Yeah im to the point that I wanna be comfy when I drive
You ,Dan ,Morske all cry about not fitting in cars,,,buy dump trucks. You'll fit nicely!!😂😂 or ride a bicycle!!
I'm right there with you at 6'4" and 285 and its the reason I still have my 64 El Camino...leg room.
Gonna be a awesome car, I'd think about a 5 speed if you could. Thanks for the channel.
can't wait to see her all woken up. oh, you and my brother with that yellow. cool.
they call it mellow yellow. one of my brothers favorite songs.
The Nova is going to be a sweet ride.
Your on the right track with the Nova SS, 🏁👍
That's why I built Impalas. I fit and love them!
Had a family member that owned a 69 impala. With a Capri roof two door hard top . It had lots of options and was a 402 big block . Auto SS it was a metallic dark tan with a split bench front seat. The don't see many 69 70 71 big impala today.

ya hoo there Smokey a new adventure gona be sweet. Danny you look marvelous.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Yes keep and Fix the Nova
Keep doing what you are doing. Love the Nova. If you are looking to move up a decade, nothing wrong with a 65 Malibu or 64 442. Ok, 65 Galaxy is ok too.
That big block looks perfect in the Nova! Put the small block in something else.
Do it right! Have one really nice hot rod. Take time so you don’t lose your patience. It’s a sweet car Dan . Either way it’s going to be bad asser 😂
Hell yeah can’t wait been waiting on you to build that car. Best one in your fleet in my opinion.
Glad you’re keeping the Nova. I’m 6’7 and had to make brackets to put the bucket seats as low as possible in my 71 chevelle. Headroom is a problem in these old cars for sure.
Low roofs r stylish haha
Nice ,71 Nova SS BIG Block four on the floor trip around town. Thanks that's a keeper...like your plan to remodel . Should finish Camaro and sell after all that time you spent with us watching😊,move then to Nova project .

I have 2 a 70 RS and my 73 driver plus a 71 parts car
Some great choices for your sentimental car and the end results will be pure enjoyment for the future Dan.
I've noticed that when you saw the five O the mirror was working double time, lol
That exhaust sounds so good! CAUSE IT'S A BIG BLOCK!
Dan sounds like Buffalo Bill when he whispers. 🧴 🧺
