I already know that we’re gonna see some impossible combos when I read “ft. Yophey” Note: idk if this was said in the video, but be sure to avoid practicing these combos on the training mode stage! The blocks work very inconsistently when compared to real matches
Glad you noted it! For anyone curious, every combo in this video that uses iron blocks will work essentially the same with regular dirt blocks in actual matches. I did things that way to bypass the training stage inconsistencies.
@@KadenzJade6447 they do, every level except the top 2 count as "offstage" for some reason so they break much faster, the highest two levels are exempt though. similarly, the bottom level of warioware also counts as "offstage"
Yophey's one of my main inspirations for getting better at my technical skills with Steve, doing NILs and all. I'm not great with things like PBR yet, but I've definitely gotten more consistent with NIL combos a lot throughout the past few months. I'm at Pro combos, but Yophey's godlike. Lmao
This video is great. Really shows how creative Steve is and why I love em so much. Now I have a single video I can study instead of trying to find old twitter clips and the such lol. Yophey is godlike
Don't care how long it takes, I am going to recreate all of these combos if it's the last thing I do... I will edit this comment to let you guys know that I have done it, wish me lots of luck 😁
To make combos easier go to controls and turn off left joycon jump. 1. Go to controls by going into smash then to the right of the screen it should be there 2. Find the advanced controls or whatever its called in the left corner it should be blue. 3. Turn off left joycon jump.
Personally I use tilt stick, but if you can do these with just the a button feel free. The main notable player I can think that uses smash stick is Light, because he needs to never miss an upsmash input
All the idj kill setups are severely suboptimal any di will make you miss basically Instead you need to place a block first then uptilt and then nil following the opponents di into upsmash
it doesn’t work i don’t think. i’m doing it right now and the hp after the 5th jab is different by like 3 hp and it gets knocked back to far in the last hit
My question is how you do reverse nair into fair?? Like he is switching the way he faces mid air without doing PBR it looks like. Idk but if it is PBR, that is some extremely quick inputs I don't think I'm capable of doing. Looks sick though!
When trying the ladder loop zero to death easy version on training mode my axe was only doing 6%. Does anyone have an explanation? (I did not have stale moves enabled)
How do you f tilt mid air without doing a full on fair? Kinda new to Steve, still learning to NIL block placement but would love to learn other fundamentals!
I believe he is quickly setting the stick to neutral then pressing A and moves forward again between each aerial f tilt (nair). I don't think it's possible to nair while holding forward or else you do fair. My question though is how you do reverse nair into fair?? Like he is switching the way he faces mid air without doing PBR it looks like. Idk but if it is PBR, that is some extremely quick inputs I don't think I'm capable of doing. Looks sick though!
Steve’s combos are as creative as the game itself, there are limitless possibilities with this character.
One time I killed a lucina as steve by creating a cock as bait and then killing her with anvil ontop of it
Good character design
Kinda like Minecraft so amazing accuracy there
Because Steve is Omnipotent

Your technical precision and ability is something to admire. Near human-like TAS. I can see the passion for the game behind the controller!

@@yophey197 do the high parts of training mode stage break blocks at a regular pace? You were able to do full up smashes there

Oh, gotcha! ^^ Thank you for the info!
Reminder that blocks break much faster anywhere in training mode stages compared to normal stages such as the middle of Battlefield.
I didn't know that

I like how yophey has to modify the nil upsmash combos so that they work on the specific level of the training mode stage lol
I must admit, Yophey is an absolute monster with Steve, very talented with these bread and butter combos.
Nintendo really went /gamemode c when giving Steve his combos
nah, more like /kill PYRA
Imagine how OP Steve would be if he didn't have to gather materials
He'd be brawl meta knight levels of broken.
This is amazing it makes me happy to see how creative people are getting with the combos
@Tyler Howard up tilt and up air are axe, jab, nair, f-tilt and f-smash are sword, and bair and fair are pickaxe

Steve truly is the DLC character of all time
I refuse to believe anyone was here to learn only to admire the spectacle
I love that Steve has become the Shulk of Smash Ultimate with all of his acronyms
Down tilt, Down Throw, into a Forward air is my favorite combo and if it’s a heavy I use 2 - 4 down tilts
This is amazing, but I wish more characters had tech to explore like this in Ultimate...
Try peach
People say Steve is not fun to fight against and thats valid but once you figure out how to play him He's the most fun DLC character
Hero is not very fun to fight either but no one complains about him.
I wish acola would learn all this stuff
He just casually put a 0-death in the beginner section
Beating up both Pyra and Mythra made this 10 times better
3:56 I used to do this all the time on heavies. Tip: don't nil1 after the first uptilt in the air.

Holy crap how is he not top tier
Meta still developing, players still learning
He is he can do this or be really brain dead
istr hard to do this stuff
Slow, low range, shitty physics, struggles against sword (pyra mythra, cloud, seph, roy say hi)
He’s considered best in the game now, accuto the official tier list.
You forgot the most used combo: your opponent falling asleep mid game to you minecarting them from full screen as they cant react

For the pick loops, how do u do the fast fall fair out of grab? I cant seem to land the pick and fast fall.. either one or the other
