stoneyridgeshop.com Folks thanks so much for watching today! Please...grab yourself some Stoney Ridge goodies and support the farm/channel and content! It all helps so much....Without you there would be no Stoney Ridge Farm! I appreciate you all so much!
Thanks for the great contet as always . We bought 133 acres in Middle TN and I'll be looking to convert most of the it to Hay Fields . I enjoyed watching you convert wooded land to future lawn / pasture . Maybe a future episode on the 5 or 6 basic machines you would focus on getting to prep your Homestead . Thanks as always for the great content and insight .
Looking great on the cleanup!! I don't think this rock picker is a bad idea, and it has its place. I think this one needs a few more adjustments/changes and testing to make it work a bit better. As it operates right now, it's does not look like its saving any steps. It might be causing an extra step. One change that might make it a bit more reliable is a shaft driven system. I think the chain driven system on one side is a failure/breakdown point. If one rock or piece of debris slightly "twists" the swing arm, I think the swing arm gear may be twisting just enough to throw the chain. Also, with a shaft driven swing arm, there is another opportunity to add a feature that will enhance its picking operation. I'm not going to say what here..... 🚜-Woooo!!
On a farm, even when the machinery is doing what it is designed to do, I always say that I will work till it breaks down. It's not a matter of if but of when the equipment breaks down.
yeppers...it would be pretty...but....I don't want any more deer lol! They're overpopulated here to the point that we can't grow anything without guarding it....planted about 50 walnut trees this spring and the deer have been horrible on them
lol....man I tell you what....last year i think we took 15 and just yesterday they were eating my darn newly planted walnut trees!! GRRRR!!!! Worse than ground hogs!
Hey Stoney Ridge Farmer I really like seeing all the over all stuff that u do on the farm . Teaches us different things . But really luv seeing the cows and calves of how beautiful and healthy they look . Like to see the chickens and how many eggs u might get n a day . Great video 👍🏼👊🏻
Folks....I need your help. Tell me what you'd like to see more of here on the farm.....more wrenching? More Landscaping? Honey Bees? Chickens/cows? What's your favorite?
I'd be all about vlog style throughout your day with time laps of what your doing. I love the explanations on why your doing something but also understand there's chores to be done. Take us for alll of it and we'll get to see more of how the farm operates.
If todays youth expect farming to be 'clean', just because many tractors have cabs with AC, they are in for a very rude awakening. Dirt in your beard is the sign of a good day on the farm. May you have many more Josh. Love what you do brother and thank you for all the helpful tips and tricks you share. Stay hydrated my friend.
Wow, What another great learning video. Thank GOD we have people like Josh to take time out of their way to show us how thing are done. Not just done, but done the right way. My friends, if you like this kind of content, then may I suggest what I did. I started watching from the 1st video to date buy watching 3-4 episodes a day and within a month, I was caught up. Plus the good news is he designates each day as a theme (Tuesday is Tool day where he demonstrates new tools or equipment). Josh also brings "Lives" about once every week or 2. Another reason is when you subscribe you get notifications off new content and live streaming. So go ahead and push that LIKE (thumb up)👍button. Did I mention it is all FREE and Josh is about to launch his cattle meat on Patron. Sign up and get notices when there are new items and sales. I have been watching him for 6 years now and have enjoyed every episodes.
@StoneyRidgeFarmer FYI average 1 inch of water per week but depending on your heat irrigation watering lawn. more than that may be required to start.out maybe in specific hot times. Best of luck starting out new.yard lawn your are smart Josh I'm sure you'll figure it. out my brother Best David
Ain’t mine but I did see that “spot” my buddies helpers are destroying everything he owns. Last week his helper did a burnout in his truck, lost control and hit the ditch
It sounds gross but snorting warm salt water cleans out the dust real well. Use salt without iodine for less irritation. Works great when you have sinus issues as well. Use as water as warm you can tolerate.
I have to ask since you have all the other skidsteer attachments. Where is the power rake? It would help you emensly on what your doing. And it's used gently for the last go around you would have alot dirt.. You should try one. It does all kinds of jobs.
With all those rocks I wouldve thought there would be a whole bunch of what I call "rock fences " in your pastures but I havent seen any. What did the tobacco farmer that worked the land before you bought it do with them all?
sold it ...with the stipulation that I might use it once in a while.....might be pretty but it will get stuck on a dry banana peel! That truck gets stuck so easy!
You need a set of grizzly bars. Dump the mix on top and the bars allow the small stuff and dirt to drop thru, but the larger stuff slides off the bars to the back. It’s kinda like a classifier. But then again, you’re probably not big enough to justify them.
everything gets maintained on the farm, whether pasture or lawn or garden. It takes work to keep this place up all the time and you want your farm to be a beautiful parklike setting my friend. Common areas have to be mowed and maintained. Probably take about 10 hours a year to mow this once it's good to go...plus we can run the pastured chickens on it too!
I'm giving it to my neighbor down the road and some larger one's for landscaping. A man with rocks doesn't want any....a man with no rocks wants them all bhahhahaha
There you go Improv! Adapt! That's a Biden truck... ('Potato head'') haha. I always laughed WITH the guy who said of your electric tractor. 'That's a Biden tractor!' Anyway, looks sharp!
it would take 10 years to get that much sawdust off my mill. That was from a tractor trailer load of sawdust I had delivered out a few years ago....the mill is up by the shop right now....too hot ...need a sawmill shed and a better place to store lumber
buddy loves to run, not a couch dog my friend......not sure why you'd think he's lonely....he's not a lap dog, he's a farm dog my friend. He loves to run, swim and enjoy the farm....but I ain't lifting him up in the dump truck to carry him 1000 feet....trust me brother....I know how to care for my buddy dog

great idea!! And I already have a little something in the works!! Downsizing machines a bit here

repairing the rock picker vid coming soon! You'll love it...super simple!
Brother, I like it all. But I like tractor & equipment videos along with wrenching the best. I still love to see the cows - it's all good Josh!
Good afternoon! 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Looks like there is a reason you call it the Stoney Ridge Farm. Lots of rock. Did a great job on clearing and smoothing that area.
darn right!
On a farm, even when the machinery is doing what it is designed to do, I always say that I will work till it breaks down. It's not a matter of if but of when the equipment breaks down.
It looks great! Well done!
Throw a bunch of white clover on that hillside and you’ll have a constant flow of wildlife to watch

That is understandable. My wife is from stoneville/kernersville. We’d be glad to help you with any deer population problems.

More live question sessions would be nice.
Excellent content! Love the rock picker when it works! Some follow up on the pasture progress would be great. How’s the grass doing?
Personally Id love to see more wrenching - equipment or cars - but I’m here for whatever you share. Thanks!
I'd be all about vlog style throughout your day with time laps of what your doing. I love the explanations on why your doing something but also understand there's chores to be done. Take us for alll of it and we'll get to see more of how the farm operates.
What ever needs to be done!
Oh man I feel you I’m leveling dirt and even though the dirt is kind of wet, I am still covered in dust 😂😂😅😅
suggestion a rock bucket much like regular bucket only the bottom slotted like grapple allows dirt and small stones to pass thru

Have a good day up on the Stoney Ridge!
I watch your videos cause I’m interested in the stuff you already do! I prefer haymaking/pasture improvement, but just keep doing what you’re doing!
That crazy ventrack is very versatile!
It really is the most used machine on the farm
Nice lawn. Hopeflly good grass to add to the farm and out door kitchen. Visitors should be pleased.
lol...to heck with visitors...I wanna look out at the pretty landscape too bhahhahha
❤❤VIDEO ❤❤ great info ❤I didn’t know about rock picker existed ❤❤
Necessity is the mother of improvisation! 😉👍

Hey Josh thank you for the video Woo
You bet!
TATER, Thats cute!
Use those big rocks as access point blockers to keep people and their vehicles off your land..
I've got a couple well placed rocks near some access points for sure!
Josh does rocky roll & scoop next trick seed & water soon it will be grass nice work
tune in on Monday!! You'll see it getting seeded...I'm watering it now...every morning and evening...a major undertaking in this heat!
@StoneyRidgeFarmer FYI average 1 inch of water per week but depending on your heat irrigation watering lawn. more than that may be required to start.out maybe in specific hot times. Best of luck starting out new.yard lawn your are smart Josh I'm sure you'll figure it. out my brother Best David
...me likey, likey Ventrac...a cool tool!!!😁
If you ever want to sell me some of those landscaping rocks bring them to The Manor!!!
Think you might want to do some cleaning on the frame of your truck. 🤣🤣. Maybe some touch up paint.
Ain’t mine but I did see that “spot” my buddies helpers are destroying everything he owns. Last week his helper did a burnout in his truck, lost control and hit the ditch
First! Keep u the good videos man, your land is awesome! Lotta work
thank you so much!
It sounds gross but snorting warm salt water cleans out the dust real well. Use salt without iodine for less irritation. Works great when you have sinus issues as well. Use as water as warm you can tolerate.
He is a RN
If your luck is like mine…. I have to work on something, BEFORE I CAN WORK ON SOMETHING!!!!
Piled them on the edges of fields. Basically I’m picking up his piles right now
That's the first dump truck I've seen for the mechanical kill switch
That old IH pickup looks and is beautiful. How could you bear to sell it???
sold it ...with the stipulation that I might use it once in a while.....might be pretty but it will get stuck on a dry banana peel! That truck gets stuck so easy!
My thought is can you use the rock picker like a bucket? Less breakage! Get a crushing machine another side biz, The Stoney Ridge gravel Company!🤣
Oh and by the way I like all your content . You keep it interesting
I appreciate that!

Was waiting for the dump truck to roll down hill that would be a video
Hey Josh. I was wondering if you would be interested in selling the canopy off that electric tractor? And if so, what would you want for it?
sorry my friend...no can do
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer ok, thanks
What did you decide to give buddy for his hip dysplasia?
I’ve got some meds. I’m not sure it’s hip dysplasia but the meds are helping for sure
@@StoneyRidgeFarmerbuddy seems to be doing better
I like the rake with the guide wheels so it doesn’t dig in.
Lawn? On a farm, isn’t that more to maintain and doesn’t generate revenue?
everything gets maintained on the farm, whether pasture or lawn or garden. It takes work to keep this place up all the time and you want your farm to be a beautiful parklike setting my friend. Common areas have to be mowed and maintained. Probably take about 10 hours a year to mow this once it's good to go...plus we can run the pastured chickens on it too!
Are you using the rocks somewhere else on the farm? Some of the bigger ones are large enough for rock walls or even to sell to people who need rock.
I'm giving it to my neighbor down the road and some larger one's for landscaping. A man with rocks doesn't want any....a man with no rocks wants them all bhahhahaha
Very true! We don’t have many rocks here (lots of clay) so we have to bring them here from other places.
I dont watch the channel as much as i used to . Its changed youve changed !
In what way? Farm? Me?
If it weren't for bad luck we'd have no luck at all, blues despair and agony on me. Unfortunately all a part of farming.
I wanna see some car repair and smoking meat mixed in with the farming
you totally gave me a great idea for a show!!!! Look out...coming soon!
There you go Improv! Adapt! That's a Biden truck... ('Potato head'') haha. I always laughed WITH the guy who said of your

What happening to the lumber mill, see a big pile of sawdust but no saw.
it would take 10 years to get that much sawdust off my mill. That was from a tractor trailer load of sawdust I had delivered out a few years ago....the mill is up by the shop right now....too hot ...need a sawmill shed and a better place to store lumber
Well knock it off…it costs Josh.
? second dog info.
Video coming soon
Why don't you let the dog ride in your farm vehicles? He just wants to be near you and lonely.
buddy loves to run, not a couch dog my friend......not sure why you'd think he's lonely....he's not a lap dog, he's a farm dog my friend. He loves to run, swim and enjoy the farm....but I ain't lifting him up in the dump truck to carry him 1000 feet....trust me brother....I know how to care for my buddy dog
You are kind of hard on the equipment.
There’s one thing for certain. If you use equipment it will eventually break. Things wear out as you use them. Flipping 500 lb rocks is hard on things
