It has absolutely abysmal FoV though. I tried to replay it recently, and god it’s bad. It can be edited in game files, but then you completely lose zoom when ADS. Plus artifacts during cutscenes are hilarious.
This was the very first game I bought when I got the 360 for the first time. It's honestly one of the most underrated games in recent history, in my opinion. Loads of fun.

I remember really enjoying this game when it came out. Over the years, I came to understand that it was mediocre but I couldn't help but admire some of the more unique elements it had. Like a sort of inventory system where weapons took up however much space and you could carry as many guns as you wanted as long as it fit into that inventory space. Around that time, Call of Duty and Halo were dominating the market and they limited you to two weapons. Two of any kind, sure, which meant you *could* potentially have two heavy weapons-- something you can't even do in Turok '08-- but you could ONLY ever have two weapons. I also remember knockdowns being a thing. Getting smacked too hard or being caught in an explosion would knock you down. I thought it was cool. Annoying at times, sure, but I forgave it because it was cool and you didn't really see that from other games.
Three great Remasters is hardly what I would call “dead”. But if you’re referring specifically to a modern sequel - yeah, it’s not happening. And maybe it shouldn’t, because it’ll be some kind of idiotic extraction or looter shooter or whatever-the-fuck.
This game deserve a remaster, i hope some day will be true .. Its a old masterpiece and nowdays gamers dont like it because of bad fov, graphis or gun play, but they only played cod wz and fortnite..
The game really does need to make a comeback in the form of a remaster with a lot and I mean A LOT of quality of life upgrades to the game. Turok 2008 was ok as is but you can tell just by playing it and even going through the empty as hell wasteland that is the options menu that the game obviously deserved more time in the development oven than it got. A remaster would be able to fix so many of this game's problems.
A few months back I bought a 360 version pretty much dirt cheap. Not a bad reboot, but with some control and FOV issues and it was left on a cliffhanger.
One thing i hate about 2008 turok I played it on cousin's pc and had entire arsenal available at all times then i bought one on ps3 (i had no pc at the time) and it restricted me to 4 weapons out of which 2 are forced (knife/bow)
This is the worst turok. I mean, It's not even turok, It's just some kind of call of duty game. There are no marvellous weapons, sci fi scenarios, multiple strange enemy creatures. Turok 2008 has not even a single pin of the atmposphere turok and turok 2 had.

Not a remake, a reboot. The story is nothing like the original. I think this game is significantly better then original.
Loved the designs of the Dinosaurs, especially the raptors.
The flamethrower reload is oddly fascinating.
Definately unique amongst shooters!

It is a pity that the series is dead and unlikely to be revived. All that remains to be hoped for is a remaster of Turok Evloution from NightDive.

For years, I had wondered what this game was, I thought I was crazy for remembering a sci-if game with dinosaurs in it.
