      The record sleeve describes the piece as 'for flutes'. It was quite usual for three or even four players to play together in the Tutti parts with the single soloist to play the 'solo' sections at the time. Same with Klemperer. The principal flute was K. Willeke at this time. Sounds to me as though three are playing even for some of the solos here !
