We just woke up to thunderstorms. I'm not complaining at all. I love thunderstorms. Just please, please, no tornadoes. We're continuing to pray for those dealing with severe weather.
I moved to East Texas recently. I am from South Africa. These threats of tornadoes freak me out so badly I had a concrete underground shelter installed last week……and we dont even have it as bad as you all in Oklahoma and the Plain States. Always think of those areas even if we are all good here in East Texas 🙏🏾
@@xploration1437 im mostly disabled and live in a mobile home in the country. lots of trees. didn't used to be a big deal, but now i cant move my residence and the storms get pretty sketchy at times, especially this year. tons of storms.
NE Ohio here, we have had several thunderstorm and rain warnings all week... and they keep fizzling out! My kids think I'm lying when I say no pool because it's going to storm LOL
Good morning Max and friends. I was watching Brandon and Corey yesterday and we saw at least 2 tornadoes! That was some weird storm cells! Oh goody, we might have a tornado today! Im so happy said no one ever! Have a good day everyone and stay safe! As always thank you Max. You are appreciated!
In Bloomington Indiana, neighbor has a home weather station. We saw wind speeds of 78 mph yesterday. We're looking at another 1-2 days without power at a minimum, according to the last update.
There was a tornado in that north OKC storm! It narrowly missed Edmond by 15-20 miles at least, before dissipating. I was truly worried there was going to be a tornado there for awhile because we never know if they're going to be brief or long track.
Please don't take this wrong y'all are rain non ending. Here in North Louisiana the heat and humidity has gone on for days 🤮. I am sick this heat and humidity. We need rain in the South.
Hope u got rain today. Here in MS it has been hot and humid, too. We did get rain today. I am done with this weather. Can't wait till the middle of Sept!
I’m in Indiana and we haven’t had power for 3 days and trees where everywhere and I was in the car when it started and it drop a tree on the call it it took 2 hours to get home bc of all the trees
You would think since there's so much flooding, they would stop the cloud seeding to make these storms! Every day, they seed the clouds over Alabama and the flooding they cause is criminal.
I wish when there's a tornado people would stop with the unhelpful comments, like the moderators should be allowed to block or mute them for at least 10 minutes. What I don't understand is why people don't just be prepared and if they are very worried that they might be in the path, just go into their safe spot. People should own a map of their state so they can know exactly where the storm is. It's sad that people don't educate themselves and just expect him to answer all their comments and the endless food comments or pronouncements arguments.
Good call on Whitman Max. Since watching your channel my knowledge of reading radar and velocities has increased greatly because of your explanations. Thank you
Yeah I live in Indiana and I am one of the couple houses in my giant neighborhood that still have power, multiple trees knocked down into to roads the wind was BAD in Indiana.
Prayers for All Those in UNWARNED AREAS!! ALSO, those Affected By Storms, FLOODED or Tornado Damaged Areas 💔 in Many States Cities Small Towns & Rural Areas as Well..
The Whitman tornado I believe will be one that is studied for a long time, it had 0-1 km SRH in the negatives, luckily the damage wasn't as bad as it definitely could've been
It's funny I used to be terrified of Thunderstorms now I'm excited to get them! 😂😂 How did it just go to me wanting to have thunderstorms what is wrong with me lmfao. That's a good thing though because my fear of them was horrible it was not fun at all but now I like them. Yayyyy 😊
I love storms just as long as they don’t get too bad, I love looking at tornados on radar. But only when it’s is an empty field. Whenever they impact people that’s when it gets sad
Crazy how 2024 hasn't even had a MDT risk yet we've had EF4-wind tornadoes, tornado emergencies, PDS warnings to go around, and DVD-sized hail. Not to mention straightline winds of over 120 mph..
Be prepared for more severe weather, this could be concerning and dangerous, stay safe y’all, and don’t be scared and be prepared when the storms reach your location
The channel does not claim to be local weather watchers, and encourages people to monitor their local weather. I appreciate this channel as it enhances my understanding of weather, but I use it as an educational tool and not as life saving resource. The NWS experienced a glitch yesterday. Max Velocity just happened to see the tornado and was able to point it out. He points out areas that come up on his radar.
It depends on where you live. In the southern part of Terre Haute, IN, we were slammed by severe thunderstorms yesterday afternoon causing hail and heavy winds which ruined alot of trees, fences, shingles and signs too.
I usually have the same thing here in Missouri. I watch them on the radar dissipate before they get here or split and go around us but I got hit pretty hard last night and this morning. No damage but it got scary for a little bit. My crispy grass is loving it though. I haven't even had to cut it for a couple weeks because it just stopped growing completely.
@@jerpage Usually it's tornadoes that miss us, but at times we may be able to get the worst of the worst storms. Most of the damage we seem to get come from straight line winds. The more that I think of it, no matter how much rain we get, it barely ever floods. There's probably been 1 major flood within the last 15 years and probably 1 tornado or so within the last 30 years. Over the past year we've had some pretty windy days and a couple storms with damaging winds which are last years derecho and this years severe thunderstorm yesterday.
@@davidandjerrysmith yeah true, a couple years ago downtown Bloomington was completely flooded and there were waves forming on the streets and I had to drive through them. Almost every road was closed. It was wild
Over the years, I have been in and around 3 tornados, including being chased down I-75 toward Grayling Michigan years ago. That one just missed hitting me by less than a half mile, as I ducked into the town of Grayling, the tornado continued south down the highway, so as Maxwell Smartt said, "Missed me by THAT much".
Here in Omaha Nebraska again thanks for everything you do! We have had a beating again, another tree down in our neighbors yard. Still cleaning up from the last storm. I'm up to my elbows in trees and branches. No damage to the house thankfully.❤ You are the best at getting the risks out to all of us.
Great, I am supposed to fly out from North Dakota to Las Vegas tomorrow at 9:45 pm. It looks like it will be delayed. Just great. Thank you, Max. You are very trustworthy.
Weather warfare never ends, it just keeps getting worse. The USAF told us in 2016 that it would control the weather by 2025, this isn't a "theory", and a military organization is used to wage warfare.
@@pharmerdavid1432 They starting working on "Weather modification' in the early 50's after WWll. And they've been controlling the weather for a bit now, it's now called "Geo engineering". So when you see them playing tic tac toe in the sky with the chem trails, they are seeding the clouds.
Humidity is the thing. I'm in the northern Central Valley California, where we've had a number of 100° days. It's somewhat tolerable until that dew point goes up. Then the heat index, "feels like," gets you. Although we don't usually get 90% humidity unless it's raining. I hope y'all can find some relief. Here the library or the store is where we usually have the best AC. 🍀🌬️
Today feels wonderful! 😊 Ac off, door open, temps near 70. It's such a welcome break from the weeks long daily heat we had. Summer storms usually make it more humid, but with it being cloudy today and breezy, it is just wonderful. Hopefully we can get 1 or 2 days like this in July, because it gets awefully hot and dry in July.
Here in Colorado, it's been 🔥🔥 hot. The high 90s is not a record, but typically, we should be in the 80s. I know many in the country scoff at 90s, especially with the humidity. But here's the thing: high elevation means less troposphere. Every 1000 feet in elevation increases UV rays by 10 percent. So here in the Denver area, we have 50 to 60 percent more UV. That means the sunshine actually hurts, and that's why the shade feels so cool. Anyone living here will tell you that 90s in the sun hurts. So any rain is much appreciated.
