A red-eye from Bangkok to Dubai last August. The a380 was amazing in itself, but the catering service not so good. They didn't start serving food until 90 minutes into the flight and, given it was an overnight fight, many passengers would have wanted to get some sleep. I'm tempted to give them a second shot this summer, but if the service is as slow as the last time I traveled, that's it!. No more third chances.
Great Report!! Actually when you were boarding and the crew was on her phone, it wasn’t actually her phone. I live in Dubai so i fly emirates regularly and i just wanted to tell you that phone or device takes down the food order the passenger wants. But you can see the rest maintained excellent professionalism within the flight.

Crew aren't in their phones. In business class, each crew has a set of passengers in their area. The "phone" is for that. To help them identify and associate with their set of passengers
Did they allow you go over 2kg extra? How heavy was your checked bag. I am sure there were lots of bags at the baggage claim from this flight since it was a 777
