- I purchased the Transformers G1 40th Anniversary Soundwave from Walmart. There were tons of negative reviews for the atrocious shipping and packaging resulting in a damaged box.
In my case, both had different types of damage, dings, and bends.
Wow, they sent it to you in a box? How did you get them to do that? I got mine in a crapy envelope all bent to hell
Lol, for a split second, I read your comment as sarcastic, but then I immediately remember reviews saying theirs got it delivered in an envelop or plastic bag. Honestly I don't know how anyone gets an undamaged one from Walmart unless you're really lucky.
Hi TofuRobots! I just discovered your content while looking to identify an outside-the -box Soundwave figure I just purchased from a local card shop. I was wondering if you would be willing to help me identify which kind it is? Do you accept DMs over X or Instagram?
Hi, I don't have a way to DM, but I'll see if I can come up with something. I am curious about your Soundwave. What's the backstory? Is it a re-issue, vintage, or are you trying to figure that out?
Thanks so much for getting back! Im fairly certain it’s a vintage G1 from the bit of research I’ve been doing, but I know a lot of variations exist for him. I’m looking to confirm if he’s really a vintage or a knock off, or just any other things I can learn about it.
Awesome. Did you get a chance to see my other Soundwave video from a few years back? ua-cam.com/video/fscsmRW43_U/v-deo.htmlsi=4yux177XsmdaGhdA
@@TofuRobots yeah, absolutely! It’s what prompted me to reach out. The Soundwave I have has a really similar design to the knock off you bought in that video. It has the molding on the battery pack as well. Now I’m trying to figure out if it’s from the 1983 line from Takara or if it’s a very convincing fake. Any way to tell for certain?
