A long time ago I started dating a lady who wasn't a cat person even tho I had a little cat at home. Thirteen years later I'm married to that girl and she's now a cat person.
My mom was never a cat person because of her allergies, but this one cat started hanging around our house and then sometimes snuck into our house through the window. She was really well behaved and sweet and my mom eventually accepted her as part of the family but we have to clean the house twice as much because the fur lol
My hubby says he’s not a dog person . We got a little dog almost 2 years ago that sleeps with us , sits with him on the couch , waits for him by the door when he gets off work , follows him around the house , he talks to her and calls her his baby . But he is not a dog person .

Oh, hey, your water freezing problem. What about a candle melting pad. Heats up candles to release the smell without lighting them. You could set the water on it outside. Its not super hot but it should keep it from freezing. I forget what its actually called but hopefully you get what i mean. It could work

I wasn't a cat person. But I rescued a kitten after a bad fall when she was 5 weeks old, mum rejected her, and I can now say I am a cat person. Haha. She ended up passing away in my arms due to complications from the fall. She lived to 9 months and I spent all i had and did all I could to help her live, but it was just too much for her little body to handle. But boy did her short little life teach me soo much. She served her purpose and i gave her the best life she could of had. I'll never get another one like her. Such a precious girl she was.
I like how he said he isnt a cat person but he went out to the store and specifically bought those cat treats for his outdoor kitty to try to coax him inside and gain his trust lol. In the meantime he builds him a cute little cat house to try to keep him warm :) If more people went out of their way to do things like this, the world would be a much better place
2 years and 2 months ago I wasn't a cat person either. 2 years ago I'd been reprogrammed to where I drove 25 miles to the nearest HEB at 11 pm to buy a rotisserie chicken because Princess Lucybelle refused to eat any of the expensive cat food I bought her.

There are lots of people who are like that my sister lives on the edge of a Nature Park and people drop cats off by her house all the time she has a big bowl of water and food sit on her porch for them some of them stay around her house and some of them eat and & go on. Of Course I'm sure she has a few coons, opossum & other critters who take advantage of "free chow" also. She's not mentioned any dogs getting dumped though.

We've tamed and helped quite a lot of feral cats. I find that they in particular love the indoors. For ferals, just surviving and trying to stay safe takes all they have. They therefore seem to really love and appreciate being safe and relaxed indoors. My tame cats are harder to keep from getting out. They see the outdoors as an adventure, rather than a threat.
I'm not much of a cat person either but when I moved out to go to college there was a stay cat, much like this one, with the catch and release snip on her ear too. I assumed she was left behind when someone moved cause she was super friendly and litter trained. I started with feeding her, then she came inside, then I took her to the vet and one thing lead to another and now she's still with me years later. Her name's Stretch and she's got a canine brother named Jack.

now there is free and clear litter filler and the smell is majorly reduced. keep the litter box cleaned up on a regular basis...no smell....it only smells when YOU don't do your part and clean it daily.

He grew up in a barn and wasn’t very trustworthy of humans understandably so. He passed away last year, I didn’t have him for as long as I wanted but 5 years for me was like 30 for him and it was the best time ❤️
Yah, the "M" on his forehead is a feature marking of tabby cats. It's a domestic long hair tabby. If he is revealing his belly to you that is the HIGHEST complement. That means he has submitted and trusts you absolutely. You my friend have a friend for life. Matthew the Vet Tech~ Good luck bubba.
He's feral, no doubt. There are litter types that don't smell, by the way. Most cats prefer a sand like environment to poop in because they originated in the desert. He re-learned how to meow specifically to speak with you, which they say ferals don't do, but I can tell you they do sometimes. I can tell you that if you bring him in and out, he can go outside for the bathroom facilities most of the time and then supplement with a litter box, if that makes sense. The larger the litterbox the better, by the way, for any cat. It is hard to keep them in, but fixing them helps, and in the winter he might stay inside longer. I only say this in the event you ever become a cat person. I was not a cat person but I have had quite a few of them after the first one stole my heart.
@@LexCinnabon my family had an indoor/outdoor cat years ago and we only kept a litter box during the winter, the rest of the year he would just go outside. One time I remember no one was paying him enough attention and he was stuck in the house and he was smart enough to pee in the bathroom sink.

And the only reason it's more than 50% is because only female cats are tri-colored, so since 50% of cats are male in general, some females being tri-colored slightly increases the proportion comprised of males in every other color type.

And for calico all three colors have to be represented, mostly in large(r) amounts. In general tri-color, but not calico cats can be males too. All of the cats born in my house have been tri-color, but not calico, and most of them were males. But yup, orange tabby cats are usually male as OP said too. I think it's around 80-85% male to 15-20% female. I'm not sure how calicos came here though?

There are a lot of feral and abandoned cats in my apartment complex. I've always considered myself a dog person who also likes cats. But since my dog HATES cats, I've never let any of them into my apartment. I just take care of them outside and then catch and rehome them when I can. So far, five have found forever homes and their new families say they're happy as can be. So, thanks for helping out Cinnabon even if you're not a cat person ;-)
One kitty I had who came in from the cold had frostbite on her ear tips due to dehydration. One ear tip was already lost and the other was hanging on by a leather-like bit. I sterilized tiny scissors and cut the tip free then put on antibiotic ointment. The emergency vet said I did exactly what was needed. Someone tried to accuse me of cutting this cat's ears which horrified me. It is usually best not to make assumptions.
The stray we trapped and had fixed had just the tip of her ear cut to show she was spayed but the ear tip shriveled up and looks like they cut more off. So for Cinnabon I'm sure they just cut the tip.

I think that the forehead "M" is more of a Tabby genetic characteristic than anything strictly Maine Coon. Either way, that is one gorgeous cat, and you are a great cat Dad.
Thanks, I have an orange cat too, it's practically the same as cinnamon but with short fur, he has a very clear M on the forehead and I can absolutely assure that there is no Maine Coon involved.
Maine Coon cats are very large cats, usually 20 lbs. and up and very long. Same with Norwegian Forest cats. They do come in a variety of colors, and they can be orange.
He isnt a maine coon , I have a ginger maine coon and a ragdoll, his personality and build and fur all remind me of my ragdoll which are big , friendly and like little puppies that follow you around
actually he looks more like a siberian cat to me, when you look at the facial features. also the following around, the belly rubs, the doglike personality is a siberian characteristic.😁

Lex, I so appreciate and envy your relationship with Cinnabon. I love boy-kitties and have a special affinity for them. My best buddy was a boy named Freedom. We adopted him when he was 11. We were inseparable. He got cancer, and he died three years later. I miss him numerous time every day. We have two girl kitties that I dearly love and pamper, but I still miss my Freedy-boy😻

Looks jist like my recently departed Sammy. Beautiful red coat. Great personality. We got Sammy as a kitten from a friend. He hid at first til I brought up a litter box where after doing his business, he rolled around for a few minutes and from the moment he was a lover. He died at 12 from kidney complications.... i miss him

True. But, when litterboxes are cleaned everyday, there isn't a smell. We used to have 2 cats and it was never a problem.
@@brettb8825 Yup, frequent cleaning and it's all good. Unless they just come out of the litterbox and run straight for your lap..
now there is free and clear litter filler and the smell is majorly reduced. keep the litter box cleaned up on a regular basis...no smell....it only smells when YOU don't do your part and clean it daily.
Renzsu- I gave my late cat Meadow TWO well maintained catboxes, and she was very happy! I still ❤️ and miss her even after 5 years!❤️😸😭

I wasn’t a cat guy until I met my Simba. He’s was an orange Siberian cat and one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. He grew up in a barn and wasn’t very trustworthy of humans understandably so. He passed away last year, I didn’t have him for as long as I wanted but 5 years for me was like 30 for him and it was the best time ❤️

Yah, the "M" on his forehead is a feature marking of tabby cats. It's a domestic long hair tabby. If he is revealing his belly to you that is the HIGHEST complement. That means he has submitted and trusts you absolutely. You my friend have a friend for life. Matthew the Vet Tech~ Good luck bubba.

Most every creature wants affection/love. They give it back so much.
He's feral, no doubt. There are litter types that don't smell, by the way. Most cats prefer a sand like environment to poop in because they originated in the desert. He re-learned how to meow specifically to speak with you, which they say ferals don't do, but I can tell you they do sometimes. I can tell you that if you bring him in and out, he can go outside for the bathroom facilities most of the time and then supplement with a litter box, if that makes sense. The larger the litterbox the better, by the way, for any cat. It is hard to keep them in, but fixing them helps, and in the winter he might stay inside longer. I only say this in the event you ever become a cat person. I was not a cat person but I have had quite a few of them after the first one stole my heart.
Thanks for the info! He does go to the bathroom outside when he needs to which is nice, especially in the winter when I keep him indoors more.
@@LexCinnabon my family had an indoor/outdoor cat years ago and we only kept a litter box during the winter, the rest of the year he would just go outside. One time I remember no one was paying him enough attention and he was stuck in the house and he was smart enough to pee in the bathroom sink.

@@1sTEfFaniE1 ppl don't give cats enough credit for their intelligence. my cat did something similar when i closed the door to the room with the litter box (yeah, i wasn't thinking). she peed in the tub and pooped on the tile floor, i was impressed that of all the places she could've gone she picked the places where it would be the least messy to clean up

"Usually" being a very strange operative word. Only slightly over 50%. And the only reason it's more than 50% is because only female cats are tri-colored, so since 50% of cats are male in general, some females being tri-colored slightly increases the proportion comprised of males in every other color type.
@@medexamtoolscom "Only female cats are tri-colored" No, not only, but usually. And only if we're takling about calico if I'm not mistaken, so black-white-orange / gray-cream-ginger. And for calico all three colors have to be represented, mostly in large(r) amounts.
In general tri-color, but not calico cats can be males too. All of the cats born in my house have been tri-color, but not calico, and most of them were males.
But yup, orange tabby cats are usually male as OP said too. I think it's around 80-85% male to 15-20% female.
I'm not sure how calicos came here though?
@@victoriawhite9798 A cat coat color is linked directly to the X chromosome that's why male cats are usually only one color, only way a male cat can be a Calico is if he has 2 X Chromosomes and one Y but this makes them sterile.

There are a lot of feral and abandoned cats in my apartment complex. I've always considered myself a dog person who also likes cats. But since my dog HATES cats, I've never let any of them into my apartment. I just take care of them outside and then catch and rehome them when I can. So far, five have found forever homes and their new families say they're happy as can be. So, thanks for helping out Cinnabon even if you're not a cat person ;-)

@@firefoxmd420 how else would a person know if the cat has been spayed/neutered? It is that way so people know which cats have been tnr’d.
One kitty I had who came in from the cold had frostbite on her ear tips due to dehydration. One ear tip was already lost and the other was hanging on by a leather-like bit. I sterilized tiny scissors and cut the tip free then put on antibiotic ointment. The emergency vet said I did exactly what was needed. Someone tried to accuse me of cutting this cat's ears which horrified me. It is usually best not to make assumptions.
The stray we trapped and had fixed had just the tip of her ear cut to show she was spayed but the ear tip shriveled up and looks like they cut more off. So for Cinnabon I'm sure they just cut the tip.
I didn't realize they do that. I assumed Cinnabon has been in a fight with another cat....
I was adopted by a stray kitten just over 20 yrs ago. Had to have him put down last year. It broke my heart, but I’m so glad he chose me.
The floof is amazing. He has gone a very long way. Those beautiful eyes, making the world a better place.

I think that the forehead "M" is more of a Tabby genetic characteristic than anything strictly Maine Coon. Either way, that is one gorgeous cat, and you are a great cat Dad.
Thanks, I have an orange cat too, it's practically the same as cinnamon but with short fur, he has a very clear M on the forehead and I can absolutely assure that there is no Maine Coon involved.
Maine Coon cats are very large cats, usually 20 lbs. and up and very long. Same with Norwegian Forest cats. They do come in a variety of colors, and they can be orange.
He isnt a maine coon , I have a ginger maine coon and a ragdoll, his personality and build and fur all remind me of my ragdoll which are big , friendly and like little puppies that follow you around
I think Cinnabon has definitely got some Maine Coone in him. Big fluffy coat & tail, also lots of long hair in his ears.
actually he looks more like a siberian cat to me, when you look at the facial features. also the following around, the belly rubs, the doglike personality is a siberian characteristic.😁

Lex, I so appreciate and envy your relationship with Cinnabon. I love boy-kitties and have a special affinity for them. My best buddy was a boy named Freedom. We adopted him when he was 11. We were inseparable. He got cancer, and he died three years later. I miss him numerous time every day. We have two girl kitties that I dearly love and pamper, but I still miss my Freedy-boy😻

Looks jist like my recently departed Sammy. Beautiful red coat. Great personality. We got Sammy as a kitten from a friend. He hid at first til I brought up a litter box where after doing his business, he rolled around for a few minutes and from the moment he was a lover. He died at 12 from kidney complications.... i miss him
