If I ever met Fallon in some random place and time where he'd be willing to just hang out and talk, I'd listen for hours. He has so many stories of people and places and is so modest about it all. He has become my idol in a very short time. I'm still surprised at how quickly my interest in The Gaslight Anthem exploded from just an interest to something way over my head that I can't physically describe. It's like when you HEAR a song and you know it changes you, but you can't put a finger on it.
Ive always wondered what the best way to describe the 59 sound was, originally I said “bruce springsteen if he was in a punk band” But, “Folk Songs you can play with a band” makes so much sense.
It's refreshing hearing someone like Alan Cross interviewing Brian Fallon, as opposed to some hot girl who works for AMP Magazine. This interview is really good and it helped having someone like him ask clear and meaningful questions instead of just the usual "Any funny tour stories?"
