Hi what's the difference between the peaks appearing over a wide range of chemical shift values and that signals can be broad (when talking about the problems of -OH and -NH protons in the spectra)?
Amazing video! One question over the last example in the video.... Since the hydrogens on adjacent amine group are 3 bonds away from the C-H environment on the middle carbon, why do they add up to give a quartet and not a sextet?
hi sorry, is the product 2-hydroxy propanamide also possile, CH3CH(OH)C=ONH2, it has three C's also, 1N, 2O, and 7, i'm not sure if the H and CH3 at the end of the molecule would still experience the quartet and doublet splitting?
Ur the coolest chemistry teacher--Thank u so much
I won't ever tire of being told that! Thanks!!
10:16 at ppm 4, does it not suggest it is H3C-HC-O?
That's exactly what I was just thinking!

Why would the peak for NH^2 be a singlet and not a doublet @8:42
N-H peaks always singlets

Thank you so much Sir for making these videos and making the life easier:)
at 8:27 when identifying the shift value at 11, how do you know it's a -COOH and not just the -OH with the broad spectrum?
Your vids are the bomb gg I was wondering if you could do an entropy vid cuz much appreciated fam love bro
+Femi Onanuga looool ber road fam
"the bomb" cause heavy water is used to make atomic bombs right?
Is d2o only for the ocr specification?
Possibly. I teach OCR
Hey chemguy, can you do a video on the splitting patterns of benzene and phenol. Thanks
Not required at A level
+MaChemGuy I think he means more examples for how to approach questions like the 2015 NMR (even though you did a vid on that)
Very well explained!
Glad you think so!

great video!
great help!thanks sir :)
Good vid, thank you :)
lost marks for this type of Q. in my mock. cheers.
+EpicEditsBySaz you should of looked at previous years mark schemes to see what the exam board wanted from you.
its lit !
