Just watched two of your videos, I feel comfortable listening to u bro u seems like a good person, me as an algerian who wants to be a front end web developer and i just started learning JavaScript after learning the basics of html and css ( I’m finding so much difficulties in learning js 😅 ) I find your advices really helpful, good luck in your tech and UA-cam journey keep going 🔝
Hi there. I came across your content by accident and I really love your honesty, its rare nowadays to see people helping out each other and the keyword not being greedy. Helping people with their basic need and putting in back a little in the pocket. Its a win win, unlike others the primary focus is to hoard all clientele. I honestly believe you will grow your business faster and build more connection with this what you are doing now. Also you do not need to be a super expert to know alot of stuff. Good work bro. Keep it up. Now I will be watchin all of your other videos.
I really love this video that you gained a new subscriber, mainly cause you're not like other youtubers you're really going straight to the point and I didn't feel my time wasted. More than that is the value that I gained from these 4 minutes and I feel like it can be life-changing for many people that struggle to find clients. Thanks a lot and please keep it up!
I just graduated a bootcamp and became a father. I live in a small town, and this is exactly what I needed to knock off the worry and just go for it. Thank you.
Hey thanks so much for posting. I’m also a dad with a family to provide. I’m trying to break into web dev and I’ve been wondering how to gain experience while waiting for applications to go through. Thank you for sharing your ideas. It’s good to know that there are others who are in a similar spot like me.
Pretty crazy I just came across your video. I got interested in the tech industry about 3 years ago and the first thing I did was build a silly static website. I started learning on free code academy and the Odin Project, but dropped it after going for more Operations side of IT. But lately I’ve been really wanting to freelance website builds. I’ve already created a list of all the companies I’m going to target as they either have no website or a super outdated website. I’ve started back up on the Odin Project and am super excited to start trying this idea out!
Good idea! It's nice to see someone else understand that theres a huge target market of new business owners who just need a basic website. The past few weeks i've seen a ton of facebook ads for $199+ websites with hundreds of comments each. I can see how creating a template and reworking that for each client could be profitable even at budget price. Another thing to keep in mind, those 'budget' customers could always double back for an upgrade if they need to scale!
Yep, I spent 7 months looking for this job I currently have. I had to work remote as I liver far from any urban centers otherwise I could have found a job really quickly. I've been in the industry for 10 years. Tough market out there!
Nice video mate. Just a little help about your channel and the monetisation, it’s better to do videos between 8 to 12 minutes in length Below 8 is considered too short and above is too long This is a sweet spot and a lot of content creators try to stick to this rule Continue the hustle
It’s great you are making this work. I’ve been a developer for two decades and I’m pretty much done with the 9-5. Trading time for money and having to abide by someone else’s rules, I’m looking to build a solo business. So, I’m in a bit of a different place than you are. To me it’s either prep for an interview with one of the big tech companies so I can get a top paying job, or build a business with some passive income sources. I’m looking to freelance to start with. And then build from there. Anyway, thanks for the info. It’s great you’re making it work. It’s such a huge asset to be able to fund yourself in between jobs. It means you can quit on the spot if you need to without a ton of worry.
I just want to say thank you for this video. It's helped motivate me after a bout of depression and tutorial hell that made me get burnt out of learning web development. I really do enjoy it but I was getting frustrated with trying to find a job doing it and life. You have motivated me to get back into it and try some more! Hopefully I will be able to get some experience and a job so I may help retire my parents c: God bless
Once you create the site, how do you go about maintaining it if the customer has no experience with maintaining html/css/js? Could you make a video going into more details about that? Great video btw!
Thank you for sharing! I'm studying for becoming a web developer. (Using The Odin Project, free online course). When I'm with it I will start job hunting. Might be cool to try this when that time comes. Will also help me build a portfolio. Cheers!
I hope for $250 it’s just a one page site. And YOU should do the hosting and maintenance. For at least 50/month paid annually…you’re leaving money on the table there.
To be honest that's how I got started years ago. Eventually I realised the money was in contracting so got a full time job and had a good run as a react contractor during/after the pandemic. As you are aware the industry went to shit a few years ago, I've got a full time job at least but barely keeping my head above water. Don't know whether I should just go back to my roots.
Ithink the price is a little bit low for a full service, like from meeting to online. is really 250$ enought for "basic" web? with the "simple" design, responsivnes, google maps, no contact form (problem with spam) but number, email adress, about section, services section, few testimonial section. I think it a bit low, shouldn't close to 400$ (we have 2024 all is expensive) --> + extra cost of hosting and domain. what's Your opinion Guy's? sorry form my english, not my Mother Language

Hi man that's something I've thought of before and I really like this idea, however I always have the same doubt: What is a reasonable price to charge them for a relatively easy website for these small businesses? From your experience, do they get scared after certain proposal amounts?
Honestly yes. However I'm actually raising my prices my friend calls it qualify your customers. But at first I think it's best to go low as you build your name. The price is up to you, look at what others are charging in your area

Netfly
I hope for $250 it’s just a one page site.

What I can learn from this is: Don't just sit at your desk and wait for the client to come; actively look for the client.
Can you give us a tutorial on how to host on Netfly, I'm trying to build a page for my uncle but i'm trying to figure the host out.
I did one in the past it was my first tutorial so maybe not best quality but explains it fairly well!
Netfly (netlify)? What is that?
