    Fantastic irons. I'm still playing my T-Zoid pros that I bought new in the early 2000's, when I was a single digit handicap... however, now that I'm 65 years old and not scoring in the 70's any longer I'm looking to replace them with something that will give me more distance and forgiveness.

    Just got a set of T Zoid True, practically almost new. Love the feel when you hit the sweet spot. Butter!

    I've never hit those clubs. I used to have Mizuno T-Zoid T-3 Titanium (forgiving club with oversized heads,titanium face). I have read reviews on the T-Zoid Pro's and they get rave reviews,feel like butter. Thanks for the glowing perspective, and keep'em coming.

      I also used to play the Mizuno T-3 T-Zoid's with the titanium inserts. I played them for years. I kept them as back up after upgrading to a new set of Callaways. I wonder if they are worth anything?

    I bought a set of new old stock T-Zoid Pro Power Bar 2 - 9 pw, fw, sw from a Japanese store on ebay. The Power Bar Pro's were only sold in Japan. From what I understand they are the equivalent of T-Zoid Pro II irons sold here in the United States. I started playing them as soon as they arrived and doubt I will ever play any other irons. By far the most accurate and best feeling iron I have ever played. I will be 60 next year and have played many irons in 50 years of golf. I always heard Mizuno irons were great but until this set I had never played them. Hands down the best irons I have ever played.

    I was watching this video on T-Zoid Pro. I remembered seeing a set in a Play it Again Sports - They want $89.99 for them. I thought about going by and give them another look. However, before I could do that I was at a Goodwill store in Johns Creek. I happened to see a T-Zoid 9 Iron in pretty good shape. So, I decided to give it a try. Before I left the rack of clubs I noticed a T-Zoid 6 iron, then a 7 then a 5, 4 & 3 irons. Finally, I saw the 8 iron. So. I have the 3 to 9 irons in these clubs at $1.99 a piece. I can't wait to try them. Great review! I will follow up with a further review after I hit them.

    Great set of forged irons. I have come across about 4 sets already I scored for super cheap, one set a picked up came with a classic mizuno leather bag. I kept the bag and a set for myself and had them reshafted with a set of Rifle 6.0. The other sets I’ve tripled my money on. Gotta love those cheap 2 dollar golf works grips.

    I hit a used set at a local shop and was impressed. Like you said, The feel is the grabber. New shafts and grips and you have a good, playable set of irons.

    I had these in my bag from 2000-2022. I was scratch during the early 00s and have since fallen off to about 6. Ever since I switch to jpx… and generally not practicing anymore 😅😅😅

    I have a set of Ping Eye 2's since the mid '80's and I bought these after my MP14's and I got them used in mint condition off of Ebay for less than $100 bucks and have played them religiously for about 7 or 8 years now. Get them you will not be disappointed.

  • @eric42ca

    Been playing these since 1999 when I swapped my Ping Eye 2 for these. Have tried dozens of new clubs, but I just love these and stayed with them.

    It turned out that the set I found was the T-Zoid Sure irons. The big difference is the lofts. the Pro 7 iron is 35 degrees and the Sure is 33, the Pro 8 is 39 degrees and the Sure is 37, etc. I love these irons. They are very easy to hit and control. You can find T-Zoid irons really cheap and I would recommend them to someone who is looking for an inexpensive set of clubs that perform well. It does feel like a blade.

    Just got the tzoid comp ez and the search is over. I've found my clubs. Blasted a nine iron one fifty out of wet tangly rough to 60 yards from the green. Crushed other irons, smoked a pitching wedge high and mighty over the lake of death, with no fear because these irons hit right through the ball.
    These clubs are all time greats, all the tech in the world doesn't stack up against these forged beasties.

      Great news. What shafts and grips do you have? Mine came with Mizuno regular stats carbon graphite shafts. Grips are wore out. I have always played men's clubs, regular L/L. Thanks for any help.

    TGIF!!! Oh yeah! This is my daily gamer. I switched to these from the Mizuno MP14's. The 14's were a much prettier club but these have just the bit of help I needed. These hit ALL the shots you could ask for. Good choice sir for this weeks show!

    Good review. I have a set of the tzoid pros and the pro 2’s. Hard to say which I like better. I have a set of ping eyes also and like the Mizunos much better. I have a lot of iron sets from through the years and none feel as good as these when struck well. When not struck well they will penalize you and hurt your hands. I actually think they make me play better because I have to concentrate on hitting them right instead of just hitting. They will make you swing better instead of hide mistakes. Thanks for reviewing them!

    I've got T-Zoid oversize clubs 3 iron -.SW ( 9 clubs ) from 1998 and I still use them !! Also use Mizuno T-Zoid "Mighty Big" Driver and matching 3 and 5 woods ( loud at impact with ball ) still goes well. I must note that I took a sabbatical from golf for 10 yrs so that's why they still perform well BUT up against new irons probably lost distance and performance but does the job for me as I don't play any competitions.

    I remember hitting the T-Zoid Pro II that came afterwards and there was very little forgiveness to it. It is comparable to the JPX Tour irons. In the T-Zoid Pro II, only the pitching wedge is actually a blade and the rest of the set is a muscle cavity makeup.

    • @chubeviewer
      @chubeviewer 2 роки тому +1

      They looks more blade like than the original t zoifs

  • @ericpigg2689
    @ericpigg2689 Місяць тому

    I currently have a set of these in my bag. T Zoid pro II. I am a high handicapper and received these as hand me downs from my dad, who is scratch. They are hard for me to hit. Not sure how much of it is mental because "blades are hard to hit" but I struggle with distance, even on clean hits. I cannot blame the shanks on the clubs but the clean hits never feel clean to me. I probably need at least cavity backs if not GI irons, and a lot more range time.

    Just ordered a T-Zoid 3I, 4I, and 5I. After a long layoff, I got back into the game last year and got myself a package set. Two woods, a hybrid, 6-P, and a putter. I've since replaced the driver (Callaway Edge that someone else was upgrading from) and the putter (20-year-old Odyssey Two Ball), and added a 3I (Cobra BioCell+) and two wedges (MacGregor). I find myself needing a 4I and a 5I, but I wanted them to be the same make and model as my 3I so my yardages would be at least theoretically somewhat consistent. After scouring ebay for BioCell+ 4I and 5I, I searched to see if there were any 3I-5I sets something affordable, I came across a good set of T-Zoids at a very reasonable price. I thought I wanted something newer, but "nothing feels like a Mizuno" kept echoing in the back of my mind. So I pulled the trigger. We shall see...

    I think the “issue” with these clubs is that they are not the pure Mizuno blades. So, if you are going after an older set of Mizunos, your going after the Mp 32 or something like that. People who hit these clubs have a different opinion

  • @markgiret5105

    Back when I purchased my T Zoid Pros the big thing was "Oversized" clubheads. I was considering King Cobra lls and Lynx Black Cats but there was something about the thickness of the top line of the club when you looked down at it that didn't settle right with me. Then I looked at a set of T Zoids and that nice thin top line had me hooked. Yes, purely esthetics but then again I'm not a very good golfer, so ...
    That was my first set of Mizuno irons and I never looked back. I might consider other clubs but it would take something extra special to pull me away from Mizuno.

  • @lukejohnson5759

    I think the knock on the T-Zoids was that golfers expected them to be a little more forgiving than they actually are. Those golfers should have tried the Comp-EZ instead of the Pro model! I have a set of Pro-IIs (they transition to blade short irons) and the True model and really love the feel. The '90s were a particularly good decade for Mizuno irons...the sole design was perfect! Vs a Ping Eye 2 they will be less consistent and forgiving, but a lot more enjoyable and interesting to try different shots with.

    All the Tzoids had a longer glade length than traditional blades, even from today. The trues were very hard to hit. Pro's were like forgiving blades. Comp Ez forgive like a ping Eye3 yet have the forged feel of a blade, but you cannot curve them as easily. I have a modern KBS Tour X FLT shaft in the COmp Ez's and they are very very straight, which is what I am looking for nowadays.

    The Grad MP, all the muscle back Mp's, the tzoid pro,,,all blade irons, flattish standard lie angle, thin sole, little offset, dime coin sweet spot.....a players iron all the way. Expensive as all hell too when new. Hit them off the grass, light rough, tight lies, before you buy them. Mats don't do these justice.

    You would rather have a set of T-Zoids over a set of Ping Eye2s??? That is almost sacrilege! I’ve never given you a thumbs down before but I had to based on that comment. So which set of the following would you pick, Northwest JC Snead Personals or Tommy Armour 845s?
