the story continous in our fantasies, i cant imagine any shenmue 3 that is more epic than the own thoughts. the fact that its not finished makes it even more epic to me
Beautiful song. I completed Shenmue I and II almost 10 years ago as a child but was left devastated when my dad gave my Dreamcast to one of his friends. My boyfriend bought me a Dreamcast for my last birthday along with Shenmue. Greatest gift ever :) it was so ahead of its time. Anyone else still have a Dreamcast and this amazing game?
@sausagesausage yes haha! Perhaps if the countless number of fans all wrote letters it might help; or, they might all just get put in a paper shredder ;-) I nearly cry listening to this song hehe, thank you for uploading it
Awesome gift! I no longer have my dreamcast, but I still own both shenmue I and Shenmue II dreamcast versions(best way to play them is dreamcast). I Beat both of them about 10 years ago as well. I remember being completely mesmerised by this game. No game even compares even to this day! I agree, wayyy ahead of its time. We been waiting for the completion of the saga for over 10 years now, all we can do is hope.
@sausagesausage I wrote a letter to SEGA a few months ago requesting Shenmue III haha! I didn't hear anything back; I'd imagine they'll get countless letters of such nature. All we can do is hope really and even if the saga is never completed, we'll always have fond memories of it ^^
Played it when I was still in junior high, still have same dreamcast system and the game.....and still waiting....Saga, hope you are hearing our cries...
@lauraeliza93 while one letter might not be enough to convince them, I'm sure every little helps. I bet they do get letters all the time regarding Shenmue 3. I like to think they will continue the series one day... I just hope its sometime before I die of old age! =D
@Aphradonis haha, yeah... :S he said it was because his friend was robbed and had nothing, so he took from his daughter and gave to some other guy...who subsequently sold it anyway. So I was pretty heartbroken. However, my amazing partner has gotten me one now, so I'm very happy ^^
There could always be another sequel...just like there was with Capcom and Megaman 9. It's just a matter of constant fan demand on Yu Suzuki/AM2, Sega, and patience. After all, we're getting a new 2D Sonic on consoles, thanks to Sega finally listening.
@justin123323 I'm still really impressed with how far ahead of its time the Dreamcast was! I never played the Xbox version but what you've got to remember is the Dreamcast was released in 1999, with the Xbox being 2002; we all now how dramatically technology can advance in 3 years so I would imagine Shenmue on Xbox will have been tweaked and will be somewhat graphically superior. I'm a big Dreamcast fan-girl haha! Original Xbox was great though, did you ever play DOA3?
@lauraeliza93 i do :3 i once lost my dreamcast like that aswell, to a cousin,but i managed to get it back, and i still have both shenmue 1 and 2.Im planning on going through them again soon :)
@lauraeliza93 Yep, I leave my Dreamcast set up alongside my Playstation3. I play Shenmue every December followed by Shenmue 2. One day the wait WILL end.
I know :( but my wonderful partner has made up for it :) he's hinted that, for my birthday coming up, he may be getting me Shenmue II :D I keep watching videos for the nostalgia :) x
@lauraeliza93 There's a side by side comparison video you can find on this site of the DC version and the Xbox version. I woulda thought the same as you, but they seriously botched the textures in the Xbox port (which is what made Shenmue so incredible in the first place imo). It's a damn shame considering it's the only version with english voice acting.
14 years later, at long last, Shenmue III is finally announced.
No other piece from Shenmue can express the joy I feel other than this one.

I bought the imported soundtrack a long time ago, I still listen to it now. Great game, and OST.

Still one of the most beautiful pieces of videogame music ever created. it's far too dramatic for the game lol but it's just magnificent.
