I plan on doing a hemi swap when my Jeep is paid off…I planned on using a Ram but I never thought of a grand Cherokee. That’s a good idea…definitely saving this video
Thank you for the amazing video, the only missing part is the wiring harness splicing, I'm starting my project as soon as i get the motor mounts from Jeep speed shop. it would be great if you just take the cover off the harness at the place where you joined the two harnesses and do a quick video of which wire is connected to which wire on the other harness.
I have an 08 jk and I just bought an 06 Cherokee overland to use as a donor.. after watching this video I feel like it’s gonna be a breeze.. thanks for the video
Hey man, I really appreciate your explanation and video. My 3.8L head is trashed, but I did a compression test on it and on the bottom left is the Orion “ASD” relay which is the one that needs to be pulled for the compression test. I know its a wild hair to mention. Its just FYI if some needs to do a compression test. And now I'm gonna keep watching you explain, cause I don't know the rest, but after this I will. Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing, I though I need a loan to do the swap, but you gave me a hope. I wish if you do a video on how you did the wiring harness. Do you believe that setup will be the same on a 2 door JK, I mean the transmission has shifted backwards for an inch or two, would that be a problem when it comes to 2 Door jeep? will I need a custom drive shafts? Note: I have a complete 2007 Grand Cherokee to take the parts from.
I have a 2008 JKU and just bought a 2009 grand cherokee. What needed to be done to the stock computer? (sublime) All check engines off and can it be diagnosed from diagnostic port? Circuit # also same color wires to find out how to splice?
Love the video! Very helpful. I have a 2010 Jeep JK and a 2005 5.7hemi and 545rfe trans from a Ram 1500 4x4 to put into the JK. I know the JK is can bus ecu. Which year range of truck harness and ecu should i be using if i wanna build my own harness instead of buying a harness? Are all 03-08 ram truck ecus can bus or only 06-08?
Subscribed when u heard the idle at start of video. This is awesome! Where are you located? I’m looking into Hemi swapping right now I have a 2008 jeep jku and I’m looking into 03/08 ram 1500 to wire up but now this makes me wonder on the Cherokee harness.
Thanks for the sub. I'm in the Tulsa, OK. area. I'm sure the truck Harness could be done as well, I would just have to take a look at it. To answer your other question, That sub harness I was talking about had connectors C2, C3, C4 (white, orange, and green) that ran on the driver side to the PCM. The other end connected to the engine and had all the transmission harness in it. It didn't go back to the battery side of the Wrangler. Some of the connections literally ran from those PCM connectors through the smaller main connector through the the bigger main connector back to the tipm.

Are you going to make a video showing the wire harness splice?
I like the idea of running it all by splicing it into the single plug. But where did the second plug wires go, just battery?
I'm in Oklahoma as well looking to do hemi swap 08 jk how can I contact you
Did you use c1 c2 c3 c4 on the engine (hemi) side or resued these connectors from the JK?
