Glad you liked it. Sorry it's taken so long to respond. Would be happy for you to come to our meetings to see if it's for you. We meet second Wednesday of each month, 7.30pm at the Commercial Club. Next meeting tonight! (10/07/24) Greg
My grandfather had a farm just down from the current road that goes up to Bethanga. I have been looking for something like this for ages. Thank you vey much I skipped over bits but will watch it all when I get a chance.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it and pleased that we have been able to preserve Gerry's work from 2001. There is more on Hume Dam construction at our website: alburyhistory.org.au/hume-dam/ Greg Ryan, President A&DHS
No mention when gates were added to increase capacity the township of Tallangatta (old) was flooded Tallangatta was moved to Bolga where the name was changed to Tallangatta
Watch every second of the video. I think I might join the Historical Society. Inspirational. Thank you.

Great video.
Does have a plaque now, and is limited 20 tonnes now. Still a great video on how it was built, thanks.

I have read elsewhere that it was always the intention to build gates in the original wall.
