Augusta Bixler Farms: Blueberries 2012

Augusta Bixler Farms (ABF) blueberries, hand-picked and then packed on our brand-new Lakewood packing line, May 4, 2012. The Lakewood line is fresh from the factory and Ian, their excellent rep, was on hand helping us fine-tune it. This year we have an incredibly early harvest for the San Joaquin Delta, having shipped our first fruit on April 30. This is nearly a month earlier than normal.
Besides blueberries, Augusta Bixler Farms grows wine grapes, walnuts, tomatoes and alfalfa. Located near Stockton on Union Island in California's San Joaquin Delta, ABF has been owned and operated by our family since the 1870s.
