$3 for CKT nowadays is considered super cheap!! If the extra fried egg is double egg yok then that's another cheap deal I would say :) Yes, the eggs are big!

I grew up here, and still back every Sunday as parents are still staying there. Love their CKT since i was a young boy more than 40 yrs ago. Better when the late older brother was frying, and with cockles.
Not sure which day you were there, but directly opposite this stall, there is an oyster omelette stall that can beat many popular ones hands down. Of course, some old timer there will tell you it was much better when the current cook's late father was frying it. But he passed away a few years ago. Stall opened only 3 days a week 😅

This char kway teow has changed alot over the years. It used to sell with cockles and no fried egg and was much more flavorful. The fried egg might be a fairly recent addition man, last time I had it was a few months back and it was a no cockle no fried egg one

One of Singapore's top CKT is Guan Heng at Ghim Moh. The couple's work week is Tuesday, Wed and Sat. That is only 3 days per week. No joke. Husband cook and wife surf and only from the stall and not to seats.
Went literally yesterday, one day before the video came out.. and guess what. We got a double yolk too 😋

Thanks Zermatt for showcase this ckt store.. i have been eating at this store since young.. they used to have cockles.. but even without its the wok hey that shine.. as for eggs its extra with cost.. just for recommendations the fried oyster store just across is also not bad and also the ckt store at telok Blangah crescent... auntie at the store do cook during afternoon or morning for uncle to rest.. but most time is uncle cooking.. and just behind.. there is a curry rice also not bad but only operate early morning around 6am in morning and usually food gone by early 8 to 9am.. got that homely feel to the food.. just a recommend.. thanks 👍👍

@@ZermattNeo thanks and indeed quiet gem lol.. actually if a few years before the owner of the fried oyster.. currently the daughter taking over.. in the morning they sell Chwee Kueh also to me one of the best chai poh made.. but the daughter say difficult to maintain the taste so only do fried oyster.. the dad fried oyster got that crispy texture like the golden mile one I think you showcased...

Dont be suprised by the double eggs cause it depends on the batch. I had one batch of domestic eggs from the shelf not pasteurized which are all double eggs/yolk. So I guess your super lucky matt.

Whenever you buy jumbo eggs direct from supplier, a good 80% of the tray will have double yolk. It is just normal.
