It showed love and care of mothers can protect her child from every evil, but also showed how greed and selfishness of mother can ruin everything of child. Queen Im hwa ryeong was a prime example of how a mother should be, and Queen Dowager was a example of how a mother should not be.This drama was perfect historical drama, which shows mothers love in best way possible!

Despite watching Under The Queen's Umbrella for the 3rd time, this song playing at the end of Ep.5 after the Crown Prince dies and those series of emotions from the Queen still brings tears to my eyes and goosebumps. Absolutely outstanding masterpiece of an acting and OST.
Kim Hye Soo transformed from a cold judges and lawyers she used to play to a protective mom. The actress that plays the Queen Dowager is cold and ruthless not like Mama Rosa, a caring mom that can play music. I love these two! Both are fierce in their own way.
From another perspective, I interpreted the lyrics of this OST as Prince Seong Nam towards his elder brother, the Crown Prince, who was the person he loved most in his world. Seong Nam had always been waiting for the moments to be with his elder brother. Although he was abandoned by the elderly and adults from the palace and experienced trauma from his family of origin, he was still willing to go back to this traumatic place, only for his beloved brother, only becoz of his love towards him. And now he had passed away. This had become another trauma for Prince Seong Nam. This OST perfectly expressed his grief.

There must be sth happened which triggered grandma's intention of disliking Seongnam and unanswered, which may be related to Seongnam's curiosity to things and his personality/character. This is probably one of the best dramas out there, this make me happy and sad at the same time! The best queen and mother as well as wife! Loosing your child, seeing him getting murdered /dying in front of you and forced to abandoned your other child exactly after you give birth, being afraid of loosing another because it was a sin being gay at that time is truly heartbroken and also those days kings and officials having wives are just🗿..
We don’t know if the 4th child is gay just that he likes being feminine. Some straight men like being more feminine. One doesn’t always equal the other. But yes even just being feminine was bad.
